Clone Request Thread - March 2020
submitted over 5 years ago by AutoModeratorBootylicious

Love some Gambit or Mother's Milk but tired of paying a buck a ml? Then you are in the right place my friend. First, did you use the sidebar and search feature? There are also specific clone threads linked in the sidebar. If these have turned up dry, then please post your request for a clone recipe here.

However, you should know that most of the experienced users no longer buy commercial juice. Again, why pay $1/ml when you can mix amazing juice for less than 1/10th of that? Anyway, if you'd like to request a clone, this is the proper place to do it. This post will repeat monthly via AutoModerator.

Happy Mixing!

I've never really tried many commercial juices, lack of availability and quality in my part of the world.

I've only ever bought a few Nasty Juice and Slushie(UK) bottles.

Anyway, any good clones I should try?

Just a reminder, descriptions from the vape company itself usually don’t help. What you remember tasting is what we need. Most of these “premium” companies fluff hard on their descriptions, and usually do us no good when trying to help!

Anyone have luck with making a Lunar Harvest from Vaper's Knoll clone? It's described as "Blue rock candy with berries and cotton candy." It's been years since I had it so i cant describe it really well but i remember it was very sweet candyish and had a nice berry flavor. It was my favorite juice years ago.

Never tried it but just from the description you might try CAP Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy and see if that's at least one of the ingredients.

I'm trying to clone the Watermelon Madness by Melon Twist/TwistedLiquids. I'm getting nowhere with this. It has been described as a balanced blend of juicy succulent watermelons paired with a tall glass of tart refreshing lemonade. Also described as a watermelon punch. I lean more toward the watermelon punch type of description, I don't really get the lemonade taste, I get more of a "chewiness" from it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Relatively new mixer here and sometimes the subtlety of using different flavors escapes me.

>Watermelon Madness by Melon Twist

Interesting to see two different descriptions from two different suppliers.

Watermelon (TFA) 6.0%

Honeydew (TFA) 3.0%

Kiwi (Double) (TFA) 2.0%

This is the closest thing to a fresh, juicy watermelon. Try adding some WS-23 for cooling.

Thx, I'll try it.

Chewiness.

Do you get more of a starburst, gummy bear or bubble gum feel?

1 points

by Culprit7over 5 years ago

Almost a combo of starburst and bubble gum, if that makes any sense.

Try combining LA Bubblegum, FW Bubblegum and FW Salt Water Taffy

I'm a big fan of the Twist line, and I'm pretty sure I've recognized TFA watermelon candy as whats in their watermelon mixes. Hope that helps some

Okay, I guess I’ll kick mine out there. Supersalt’s Mangosteen just does the trick for me in every way. I’m happy to just buy the stuff every now and then, but I’m really just dying to know how to make it mostly so I can make variations and enjoy crafting similar juices, as well as drop the nic down super low where I like it on bigger coils. If anyone has tried this stuff and has any thoughts on what’s in it, I’d love to hear. Thanks in advance to anyone 🙏

1 points

by isuamadogover 5 years agoRenaissance Mixer

There’s only two widely available mangosteen flavors Im aware of FA and VT. I’d be willing to bet it’s FA with some other stuff or just not even mangosteen at all. Without a description of the juice or of what a mangosteen tastes like, I’d go with trying FA to see if that’s it and testing it in different concentrations. Outside of that, you’d probably be better served making a remix or just messing around. My brother wanted me to remix him something mangosteen and I just messed with some citrus mango mix he was happy with.

Point being, advertising on juice is useless. If you can describe the taste, you may have a recommendation on supporting flavors. Otherwise I’d try Fa mangosteen and see what’s ‘missing’ from a test and try adding maybe one or two flavors at a time to see if you can nail it.

Still on the hunt for a recipe for Boss Sauce's Cap'n Crunk. It is the most authentic Captain Crunch flavor I've encountered. Most others go too heavy on the berry and sweetness without touching the subtle saltiness of authentic Captain Crunch.

What kind of spices do you taste?

1 points

by Brianhsvover 5 years ago

It's a marinated carmalized taste...maybe a hint of cinnamon and honey

1 points

by isuamadogover 5 years agoRenaissance Mixer

I don’t have a recipe for it but I’d start with cap golden pineapple 2-4%, fw caramel or tpa brown sugar maybe add some graham cracker clear at like 0.5? Idk you should be able to get a clear pineapple from the cap or add inw pineapple to fill it out. The original going to be cap, tfa or fw in all probability and cap is the best of the bunch.

My favorite juice ever is a weird one that hardly anyone has ever heard of but I'm getting desperate. It's called Brittle... by Brittle. Was distributed by Hardcore Vapes out of Maryland and discontinued around 2018. I've bought every bottle that exists and talked to the guy who created it multiple times. He's long out of the vape game and said he'd give me the recipe for it... but never did and is now ghosting me. I have about 7 bottles of 0mg left. I have zero DIY experience. So my question for you guys is how would you go about recreating it? It's a peanut brittle flavor but very unique. Very sweet, very rich and more peanut butter than caramel. All the other PB flavors I've tried are nowhere near as good. Do I need an experienced friend to send a sample to for recreation? Do I just buy random flavorings and experiment? Do keep texting him in the hopes he'll write back?

by isuamadogover 5 years agoRenaissance Mixer

Imo you’re better off making your own. For pb flavors, there’s flv pb and pb dx. Starting with either of those two, you can basically add anything you want. Caramel/toffee types and maybe something that’s a nutty candy type. I’d watch noted episodes and keep an ear out for a description that seems to tick the boxes for you.

1 points

by kontraventionover 5 years ago

Needless to say I've never had Brittle, but TFA DX Peanut butter is probably a good starting point, possibly some TFA Acetyl Pyrazine as well (tread lightly with this one unless you wanna vape Fritos lol) to back up the PB. No idea on the caramel brittle part, although HS Caramel Toffee is decent there are probably better options but I'm really limited in concentrates I've tried in this area. The sugary aspect is most likely playing off the use of CAP Super Sweet or TFA Sweetener but another idea would be TFA Marshmallow to add a touch of body while imparting sweetness.

by juthincover 5 years agoI improved Grack and all I got was this lousy flair

Did you taste any dirt? That would indicate RY4D. Probably the other caramel part would be FW. If it's good PB, probably TFA DX PB.

1 points

by Aethyr42over 5 years ago

Nope, no dirt so I doubt there's RY4. Probably has the old-school diacetyl but the creator never mentioned it (why would you though, right? But it was a 2016-era juice). If you remember the original Grandmaster from Five Pawns, that's the kind of richness this stuff has.

DX PB is actually the one they improved rather than made (even) worse.

I vaped very few commercial juices, most didn't appeal at all just from the description.

Ok, one more time - what does it taste like? We can make suggestions at random based on a name, or semirandom based on a more detailed description.

1 points

by mitchav1995over 5 years ago

Basically just a sour watermelon candy. It's actually one of the only truly sour juices that I've had. I've no idea how they do it. I've been able to replicate the watermelon candy portion with 2% hard candy and 8% watermelon tfa, but the sour part still throws me off. I've tried adding anywhere between 1-3% sour with no dice.

1 points

by juthincover 5 years agoI improved Grack and all I got was this lousy flair

Is it truly sour, or more bitter or tangy?

Lemon zest, lime zest, green apple, or even caffeine could be responsible. Or some combination thereof.

Has anyone tried to clone Maple Bar Donut by Barista Brew? I absolutely love this stuff, but no way in hell am paying 14.99 a 60ml. I'm almost 100% sure the base is FLV Maple Bar but the frosting comes of way stronger. I have tried FLV Maple Bar from 1% all the way to five, it dosen't seem to scale much after 3% to me. Also the Donut comes of fresher to me the what FLV on it's own has offer, the donut part comes of as fairly weak and stale to me. Basically this juice tastes like FLV Maple bar on steroids with a side of diabetes.

Gotcha. I've never had it ...Haha...(That particular donut) But this was written by a ELR Veteran late last year. However sometimes you can slightly mute certain flavors at high percentages (which I'm sure your aware of). By that last concentrate and give it a shot might be worth it and then again it might not. Cheers...

Really looking for a good “Butter Cookie” by Sadboy. I’ve found one but it doesn’t include lemon? When I vape it or even taste it off a knuckle I get a a soft , buttery sugar cookie (no cinnamon) with a spot on lemon frosting/glaze. I’m sure many of you have also tried it.

P.S. I’ve never actually tried the pumpkin cookie, but if anyone has a good clone I’m down!

I doubt anyone will respond to this request but here it goes... I'm a big fan of Nakd American Patriot 55mg liquid. I was wondering if knew which specific tobacco flavoring they're using?

I've tried Desert Ship and Morely, these end up being to sweet(chocolate, vanilla, tootsie roll, caramel). Whatever flavoring they put in the American Patriot is the closest thing to an actual tobacco flavor that I've tired so far. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I used to buy at a shop in Albuquerque. T and s vapes. They closed down few months ago. The juice I got from them was cougar pjs. It had cheesecake, Graham cracker, little bit of blueberry, peach, and strawberry. Some other flavors too. I haven't been able to replicate it. If any one has this recipe, or something similar, please let me know. Thanks

Kilo Sour Series Strawberry, formerly known as Bazooka Sour Straws.

"Strawberry Sours by KILO E-Liquid exemplifies the perfect recreation of the sweet and sour straw candy, with the focal flavor of sweet, true strawberry that gives homage to the complexity of natural strawberry with a sour hit."

For such a seemingly simple profile it's been hard to nail down. Every clone I've tried has missed the mark. All of my attempts have failed. That description is spot on its more of an authentic strawberry followed up by sour candy. One thing I can say for certain is Strawberry Sour Belts by One on One smells exactly like it so I believe they definitely use it. But not on its own. It was my ADV and the only premium juice I miss and have yet to fill that void with DIY. Help me ease the pain. 😣 (I live Massachusetts so I can't buy it anymore 🙄)

1 points

by DAN00BIN8Rover 5 years ago

This recipe isn't far off the profile but it's still lacking. The strawberry and the sour are there but it doesn't punch you in the face like the original does, the flavor disappears quickly after exhale and it doesn't have the same bite, it's also kind of dry. The original flavor is heavily saturated and sticks around longer. This one you really have to search for those notes and analyze it lol this is the closest I've come but it's still not where I want to be. I suspect maybe the OOO strawberry ripe may actually be muting it as the smell of that particular flavor doesn't envoke anything from the original to me. I'm going to try a batch without it. I've tried some other clone recipes that use lemon and I can say for certain the original does not, at least not to where it's detectable like the clone attempts they come off more as a strawberry lemonade. We are after purely an authentic strawberry with sour candy. We are getting there! Anyone have any other ideas?

Flavor 0.5 (FA) Sour Wizard 4 (OOO) Strawberry (Ripe) 3 (TPA) Strawberry (ripe) 7 (OOO) Strawberry (Sour Belts) 0.65 (CAP) Super Sweet

Anyone tried to clone no. 64 from beard vape co. ? Its my favourite juice but i just can't get it prefect. I found recipe online but when I mixed it according to that the flavour is almost non-existent. I use cap flavours, but just to get some flavour I almost have to mix it 50/50 and it still is not as strong as the real deal. I think flavour vise I got it right just the strength is not enough. The recipe is blue cotton candy, hibiscus, cream, and sweetener. All from cappela

Okay I am here out of sheer confusion due to many failures. Sadboy shamrock cookie is the most impressive ejuice I have ever vaped. It is a perfect recreation of a york peppermint patty and I just havent been able to get there. It also has a bakery element "cookie" that you can smell when you drip or open the bottle but the cookie doesnt show up in anything but the texture to me. Obviously, a place to start would be flv creme de menthe but I havent had too much success with it in this context. If they are using this, I would imagine there would have to be another chocolate used to accent and bring it forward because there is a relatively prominent chocolate note. If anyones tried this and has any reccomendations I am all ears.

Has anyone come up with a good clone of SMAX - Pony on Acid? I did a search from the sidebar and found one that still needed some work but also haven't seen it requested in some time.

To me I taste the strawberry glaze, raspberries, and lime. It's been a couple weeks since I bought a bottle but that's what I remember. Maybe I'll just break down and but a bottle with my first flavor order.
