Tried it stand a lone at 3% and it's giving me this really off, bitter note. At 0.20 - 0.50% it overpowers all my mixes. Everyone seems to like it am I just an oddball ?
Not oddball just different. Everyone is. Clearly it just doesn't work for you. Call it a learning experience and move on.
This is what all of us do. If you don't like something then don't use it and let it rot in your stash. Or just get FA Pear
3% is insane unless you are doing a mix with some really potent flavors AND you like and want to taste cactus. Some people are just wired wrong and can't enjoy it. But normally .2% wouldn't change the taste so much as remove dryness from a mix. You may be extra sensitive to one of the flavor volatiles.
I read somewhere that at 3% it tastes like those aloe drinks 😣 I was really hoping I'd like it to add juiciness to fruits
some people are sensiitive to certain flavours
I love cactus but it's so strong to me I used in drops
generally 2 - 6 drops per 30ml
try that, it's one of the most useful fruit enhancers
Even that's too much for somebody's "kryptonite flavour". If you're hypersensitive to one of the aroma molecules in that flavouring, no amount of homeopathic shenanigans is going to make it safe. I have a number of "kryptonite flavourings" on my personal list, and it really doesn't matter at all how much other people love them if one drop in 120ml ruins a juice for me.
Try using CAP cucumber instead of cactus. They can fill the same role as a supplement to fruits to provide that juicy or moist effect.
CAP at .5-3% can fit in most mixes without being noticeably cucumber. I have no issue with cactus, but I still use both for the same role reasonably often.
I'm the same way. I've never liked anything I've mixed with it, no matter how little I use. Different strokes for different folks.
I first tried it in Grack Juice, where it's used pretty heavily. I enjoyed Grack, though it didn't make it into my regular rotation, but it did make me think "Whoa. So that's what INW Cactus tastes like."
I do tend to agree, however, with the many who say it adds a nice, juicy feel to fruit mixes when used at a low %. My Strawberry ADV has reached the point where I have it at 1%, but I would recommend testing it with your preferred fruity blend at 0.5% and see how it changes things.
See the power of INW's Cactus is mostly for the incredible details it lets you add to mixes. If you still feel it strong at 0.2% give it two days' time to steep (may differ, but for me 2 days is enough to blend it in).
One of the best tools in my arsenal and despite that I wouldn't vape it alone. The aloe drink thing holds true mostly cause of how vicious the inhale will be at 3+ percent. You can recreate an intense sugary drink at 4% too I've noticed such as a really sweet fanta orange with 1% FA Mandarin.
However, it shines when used with other fruits to round up flavours and add a fuckton of mouthfeel. One of my personal faves is 0.2 INW Cactus, 3% CAP Double Apple, 3% FA Fuji 3% FA Kiwi. Add in as much cooling as you want and you're free to party and make the room smell amazingly fresh.
What mixes are you making where it so overpowers the rest?
One of my favorite simple fruit mixes I make, 4% tfa ripe strawberry, 4% tfa strawberry and 1% cap green apple. Tastes really fresh and bright on its own, tried adding 0.20% cactus to give it a little juicy kick and it took over the entire mix and made it really bitter on the exhale. After reading all the replies I think I'm just really sensitive to it
How long did you steep it? 0.2% is still strong! Try CAP Cucumber for juiciness with green fruits if you dislike it!
Gave it 2 days to steep, surprised that at that percentage it's still too strong. Funny enough though I already have some CAP cucumber on hand that I haven't touched, what percentage would work well for juiciness? And would it only work well for certain fruits ?
As an alternative juiciness booster, try TFA Quince.
FA Pear is more traditional.
Yeah, but it tastes like pear. Quince, OTOH, is practically born to be a background flavor--it unobtrusively stands behind any fruit flavors you mix it with, propping them up.
People use it to and to recipes at very small quantities I haven't tried it so far and I don't think I would like it.
You don't think you would like juicy, wet recipes?
> juicy, wet recipes?
I wish Cactus would do this for me. I use it, and it does help with certain things. But I don't get the juciness or wetness people claim they do.
I do agree it's very potent and 3% is almost insanity level.
I can taste it at any % in a mix. I think I’m really sensitive to it- maybe you are too? I know of a few people who are the same. Really annoying as it’s very useful.
Or maybe you blew your tastebuds out trying it at 3%?! I tried AP as a single flavour test and it nearly ruined it for me. Got a sensitivity to it for ages. Maybe you’ve done the same thing with Cactus?
As with every standalone inw flavor, 3% is the sweet spot. I have no problem with vaping cactus standalone at that percentage.
Either your attys are broken or you haven't tried very many INW flavors.

3% is way too much for all INW flavors I've tried
I feel like some of these 'edgy' unusual flavours gather a following based on a douchery rather than merit.
I've tried cactus. Imo it's the type of flavour you have to want to like, rather than something that jumps out and makes a great impression. I personally don't like it much.
Edit: Ahhh the downvotes. Reddit breeds sheep, and users lap it up
There‘s absolutely nothing douchy about the usage of flavors - flavors are our tools. If you don’t like one or you are sensitive to the compounds, give it away, trade or throw it away and move on. Using Cactus as a tool to „wetten“ fruits has nothing to do with tasting it in a mix. Like u/TeslaDelMar advised, make a 10% dilution (as you would of FLV Rich Cinnamon). Using INW Wunder Waffle, now that would be douchery.
It's possibly one of the useful flavorings out there. It literally fits in anywhere a floral note goes.
...or not. It's horrid and ruins everything it touches. But that's just the way I react to it; YMMV. There's an awful lot of "cilantro lovers trying to tell soap-tasters that cilantro's delicious" going on in here. There's no need to justify your use of the stuff if it does what you want, but there's also no point trying to tell people who can't stand it at all that it's any good.
