I bought a Smok Novo 2. How should I adapt my e juice recipes to it?
submitted over 5 years ago by ALMOSTM

I usually vape 8mg freebase 40pg/60vg on a 0.2ohm single coil RDA (I like it strong).

What would you guys recommend to go with my Novo 2 so it at least satisfies my cravings? (I'm going on holiday and don't wanna be lugging around my dovpo brick and making huge clouds)

Nicotine salt base and look at the post that u/Foment_life made for pods. You shouldn't adapt anything until you've tried it in your pod first.

I'd suggest getting nicotine salts, upping the strength to something like 18mg/mL, and before you tweak your recipes' flavor ratios, try them out as is (maybe adjust VG/PG to 50/50, but I doubt 60/40 will cause problems). I like my flavors strong, so I found increasing sub-ohm recipes by 50% is a good place to start, but sadly not all recipes work well in pods. It's best to keep the flavor profiles simple, and preferably fruit-based.

My 3 favorite recipes for pods are a clone of Convicted Melons that I bumped up, a Mango Pineapple that someone recommended here (I can't remember who it's from), and a boosted version of Sweet Ice Drip (another one recommended here).

Do you mind sharing your convicted melons recipe?

Sure thing. The base recipe for sub-ohm devices is as follows:

TFA Apple Tart Green - 2.7%

TFA Honeydew - 5%

FA Strawberry (Red Touch) - 1.5%

TFA Strawberry (Ripe) - 3.5%

For pods, I've tried multiplying those percentages by 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x, but I tend to hover around 1.5-1.75 depending on how I'm feeling. If you have a fairly numb tongue like I do, 1.75 might be your sweet spot, but I'd suggest starting at 1.5 and tweaking from there.

Awesome. Thanks! I'm missing apple green tart. I'll throw it in my next order and mix this up.

50 mg salt is the only way to go

Totally agree. I hate Novos, and with the weak vapour output and quickly drying cotton you’ll regret not using 50 when you have to take those followup pulls

Yep especially the drying cotton.

Depends on which pod you’re going to be using. There are two different MTL pods and one DTL pod. If you’re going MTL then bump your nic to 12 or 15 and you’ll be fine. The DTL pod you’ll be fine as is with your 8. Hope this helps!

Try 12mg 50/50, and adjust from there if necessary. Going any higher than 12mg with freebase nic gets awfully harsh, even in a pod device.

You could try salt nic at ~24mg, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you absolutely can't make freebase work. The natural progression is analogs to salt nic to freebase; I wouldn't go backwards.

I use 60/40, 6mg reg nic in mine.
