Delicious, quick steeping vanilla custard, featuring TPA's new Vanilla Custard II
submitted over 5 years ago by TheFrostyjayjay

Hey all! Not new to diy, but new to this sub! First post here. I picked up TPA's Vanilla Custard II a few weeks ago and made a super tasty, quick steeping vanilla custard base with it.

TPA Vanilla Custard II - 4% CAP French Vanilla - 2% FLV Vanilla Pudding - 2%

I was never a huge custard fan, but in the past few months I've been playing around with them a lot more. This vanilla custard is real tasty. Thick mouth feel, great custard flavor, and a deep rich vanilla. Perfect on it's own, or a solid custard base for anything you may want to add to it.

I liked it after 3 days, 5 days and the flavors really came together quite nicely.

Cool. Love the custards. Gonna' have to pick that up. I like TFA French Vanilla Deluxe better though.

Never tried the vanilla deluxe. I really enjoy caps. And if you love the custards, the vanilla custard II is a must have. Super good, and a very quick steep compared to others

I'm not sure what does it have that it doesn't please others. I vape TFA French Vanilla Deluxe 8% solo quite frequently. It's a short steeper, 1-2 days after mixing and it's really good.

I like CAP's too. The difference is TFA French Vanilla Deluxe is the textbook definition of French Vanilla.

Ooh I may have to grab that one. Sounds like a flavor I need! I have so many creams and vanillas, but none have really hit that note I'm looking for, sounds like the vanilla deluxe may be what I need!

TFA French Vanilla Deluxe is insane. Imo one of their best flavors.

Greatly improved custards, ice creams, milk shakes, coffees... Anytime I need a bright and thick custard this'll prob have a place in the recipe.

As a side note, anyone who gets pepper from TFA vc or vbic should be able to use vc2. It's a different vanilla and still delicious and DAAPy unlike their dx line

Very true! I am not a pepper taster. I can see where people would get pepper from certain concentrates, but I view it as the vanilla spice and not pepper. This does not have that spice that is present that people pick up as a pepper note.

Wonder how it would pair with some blueberry. I haven't gotten into DIY myself yet but am looking at it. Just don't know where to start and what I'd want to buy for my first order

Blueberry would go wonderful with this. Do tons of research and if you need any tips, feel free to pm me!

I had to edit my comment, I just now realized instead of pm, it said to "on me" haha

Thanks, I've been wanting to get that new FA Blueberry, but hadn't talked to anyone that used it. I've had the VCII for a few months and it's awesome, I plan on ordering that Blueberry this week.

He had two versions of it posted so far. I only wrote down the first one: B. CusTURD II by DumHed on ATF -5% TPA Vanilla Custard II -3% FW Blueberry -3% TPA Blueberry (Wild) -1% TPA Cotton Candy I think you might have seen the second version, which I think had Blueberry Candy and either Blueberry Extra or Blueberry Wild.

Also there is a guy on ELR called Custardian that has some recipes with VC II as well.

how much better is v2 than original? I'm gonna try this with the original now

I like it way better. It's what I imagine a European custard would be, it's definitely not the custard we have in America that I am used to. A lot of people have been comparing it to FA Custard Premium, with some saying it's better.

It's a thick, eggy, vanilla custard. I found the vanilla a little lacking, but my single flavor test was low at 4%, I think 6-8% would bring that vanilla out more.

Out of the 5 or so custards I have, it is probably the best. If not for flavor, simply for the fact that the steep time is almost nothing compared to just about every other custard. A lot like this right off the shake. I find it good after three days, 5 days optimal.

No problem! Also, this isn't as much of a v2, as it is more of a completely different flavor. Most v2 are the same flavor, made without all the baddies that a lot of creams and custards have. This is not the same as their original vanilla custard, and still has all the delicious daap.
