FLV Pink Fruit or the better TPA Dragonfruit
submitted over 5 years ago by RoninVX

Obligatory mixed at 0.5%, 1%, 2% tested SNV, 3 days, 7 days steeped. All done on a Falcon King bamboo fiber 75w yada yada

This is a review btw.

So I got this baby by accident (which was very swiftly corrected by the super helpful staff over at Chefs Flavours, love those people even if the FB group is perma flooded with odd stuff but hey that's what FB groups are for) and I decided I might as well try it. Risky seeing as there were no reviews and I couldn't put the smell to any specific fruit.

I mean this is basically TPA Dragonfruit on steroids but seeing as neither Dragonfruit nor steroids have much of a smell might as well jump straight into the flavour details.

0.5% is nice and tart as a shake and vape. However, in just 3 hours it quickly dissolved into just a fairly nice creamy/jammy base. Nothing fascinating after it did that.

1% Same but a bit sharper.

2% Same but went super muddied super quick, borderline unpleasant.

Now on it's own it's nada fascinating but I compared it to TPA's Dragonfruit with Guanabana and then separately with FLV's Peppermint (and then altogether made a really nice recipe I ADV which I'll post at the bottom of this) and damn does this baby shit all over TPA Dragonfruit.

TPA Dragonfruit just sort of sloppily blends flavours, dulling this, killing off that, it doesn't contribute at all I feel to the mix. This baby not only shapes up the mixture to be a perfect little not too sharp not too dull mix but also has a very nice flavour of its own. Of course, that makes it so that it's use might be a bit more limited than TPA Dragonfruit, but then again I only had the mixes with 1% Pink Fruit, maybe at 0.5% it works just as well (2% is too high in a mix, it makes shit too muddied and made me gag a bit).

I honestly don't know what to say to describe the flavour. I can't claim that it tastes like pink fruit because female genitalia doesn't really go for that sort of taste profile (sorry for the joke).

It mixes greatly so far with mints, menthols, cooling, no cooling, guanabana, banana (I imagine, I don't vape banana), Fanta Exotic at 2 drops per glass (diet one, I hate the super sugary ones) and basically anything I've put it in. Even anise and blackcurrant.

If dragonfruit's an emulsifier with a nice smell, this is a better emulsifier with a nice smell and a nice taste.

11/10 recommend it.

P.S: Here my [new adv recipe with it](https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/3383685/The Chain)

P.P.S: A further note in the thread about this flavour. I was a fool and decided it sucks at 2% and didn't even attempt on going higher. I'll mix a batch at 4% and 5% to experiment and will update this thread accordingly when it's done steeping!

P.P.P.S: And a further/part 2 review here

I don't know what is FLV Pink Fruit but the TFA Dragonfruit is used to emulsify cuz it's full of Triethyl Citrate. A better option to consider is CAP Hibiscus to blend and makes things syrupy but if you want a straight dragonfruit get INW Pitaya

Inw pitaya is great indeed!

From what I have seen from others using this flavor I would start it higher and see what it does, it is not one of their more potent flavors (3-4%) and looking at Alfred Pudding's review the flavor was based on the fruit portion of the drink VMTO

" I guess it's supposed to be based on a drink popular in the UK, but I have zero experience there. Fairly weak flavor in general, but I feel like that's kinda the point for this one. I'm interested to see how it interacts with other fruit flavors, because I think this might be a successful candy additive. It makes me think of pink "strawberry" bubblegum, but that's probably because I don't have a reference point. "

Hmmm interesting. Seeing as how my tests concluded that 2% was too much and too muddied I kind of want to doubt that %, but then again why not. I'll give it a shot at 4% and edit this thread accordingly when it's steeped and done!

This is true. Vimto has a strong black currant note, which is really foreign to an american palate because it was banned in the US for the past 100 years. FLV Pink Fruit should be a good foundation for rifting on a multi layered berry recipe or anything fruity and sweet.

So, its similar to CAP Hibiscus (a better tasting replacement for TFA dragonfruit)? Maybe when I run out of hibiscus, then...

I've never considered Hibiscus a replacement for Dragonfruit, but everyone has different taste. Prepare for the pleasantly unexpected!

If I were to use pink fruit in a high vg what % would you recommend as a single flavour juice. Thanks

1% I guess but in general wouldn't recommend it as it'd get very boring. Would you bake an egg on its own and eat it?

If you're looking for single flavour vapes I highly recommend FLV's Pink Guava. I never get tired of it!

Thanks I’ll try pink guava on order day.

Sorry if it’s not to much trouble please could offer any advice on some other good single Flavours of a similar taste?

Honestly I ain't much into single flavours, mostly combos of 2-3 flavours...

I really enjoy FW Blueberry Cotton Candy on it's own at 8-10% tho so that can be something? It's easy to become boring unfortunately...

FA aurora is a fantastic flavour too!
