Has anyone used River Supply Co Salts PureNic Smooth without flavoring?
submitted almost 6 years ago by aumboislim

Can't stand flavors typically unless it's tobacco flavored and even then it's a toss up. I've managed to find suitable tobacco flavors in the past but really want to move away from flavorings/additional additives in my juice...So I am starting to think I would really prefer unflavored, after all after the 1rst cigarette i cease to notice any flavor to my smoke anyway - so my question is has anybody had experience with using unflavored nic/salt nic in the past? Does it just taste like burnt metal?

I'm considering purchasing the fetch since reviews look good and would really like to know whether or not unflavored salt nics are even worth considering doing before dropping bills on yet another mod/salt nic combo. (I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing the Trinity Alpha which lasted maybe 2-3months)

I have no experience with that device (I use the Caliburn for my salt nic), but I don’t get any odd flavorings from the PureNic Smooth salts. Unflavored still has a bit of flavor, but it is a really light sweet flavor.

Nice! Yes just any experience using the unflavored salts by themselves is really what i'm interested in hearing about. Less so about the device though i know it does play a role :)

I’m pretty new to DIY here (fewer than 6 months), but I’ve always used the Smooth salts from nic River. Usually mix up a 10ml of unflavored before making a batch to make sure all of my base ingredients are still good. No odd flavors from it to me!

i hope you don't mind me asking, but what's a good PG/VG ratio for you? i use the Caliburn as well and am looking to make my own juice very soon, but i'm unsure on the exact numbers for everything as of now ):

I prefer 55vg and 45pg for the Caliburn to get the best flavor :)

Ive been using LB for the past 3 months, I like it. I just tried a bottle of their salt nic short fill and it destroys the coils in my smok nord. It seems to like burn them out. You can see like a brown tint in the pod. I bought it just for that set-up and am disappointed. I've had no problem with the regular nicotine, I enjoy it.

Edit: I went threw 2 of the .6 mesh coils with the same result. Leaked like a bitch too. But I used that grape flavor shot so maybe that could be why.

Go with nudenicotine.com for Salts. They will give you a sample for free, you just have to pay $3 for shipping I think. For free base go with Chemnovatic from vaperstek.org

Do you know of any sites to get flavor shots? I've been going that route. I dont care for mixing my own blends, didn't have the best luck . Buying the PG,VG, Nic already blended in a big bottle and a couple flavor shot bottles is enough bottles to have kicking around haha. I'm saving just as much doing it this way.

I've vaped their smooth salts unflavored and couldn't taste nic at all, just the typical light sweetness from VG. That was at 12mg though, not sure how that might change as you increase the strength.

I use Liquid Nicotine Wholesale salt nic 50mg per ml 50/50 VG/PG no flavoring and sometimes just menthol at 1% +- and enjoy it. I have a couple liters of PurNic that is really nasty purchased last February in my deepfreeze that I cannot make anything with because it has a really bad taste and smell. Nic River customer service is awesome and made things right with me but I won’t buy my nic from them anymore until they get a new vendor.

I tried smooth nic salt (nic river) mixed with pg and vg 40/60 in a juul pod (mtl device) and it was awesome 30mg/ml.

I tried vaping unflavored a few years back. Didn't mind for a very short period of time :) And, no, it doesn't taste like metal. The freebase nic (from NicRiver) was easily overtaken by the PG and VG. I'd like to point out though, that the nicotine strength was rather low.

Something to keep in mind: VG is way too sweet. PG tastes like old cough medicine. Hiding the nicotine smell on the salts is not that easy, at least with the ones I tried. Maybe they needed more steep or were low quality, who knows.

I either like sweet sugar cookie flavor or just unflavored juice. Im weird. Fruits get old after a tank full. Im bored with flavor haha

Purnic usually comes slightly more oxidized than other brands.
