unexpected bonue to DIY, lowering nic easily.
submitted almost 6 years ago by southernrail

heading into two months DIY now and have moved from 6mg of commercial juice and a steady, somewhat mild nic sickness, to now down to 1.5mg and feeling MUCH better and not as lethargic. once I realized I was over doing it on nic, it was so easy to lower my nic without much discomfort at all. sure, I find myself hitting it a little more from time to time, but I rarely get sick anymore which is great. recommend playing with nic levels to find your safe and comfortable spot.

Through DIY I was able to gradually reduce my wife's nic to zero totally unbeknown to her. Once I did tell her she was nic free her usage dropped and now she only vapes sub 10ml per week. Placebo and mind power! Anybody who mixes for a loved one who only vapes DIY I would totally recommend

Hey man, how slow did you go? My gf's at 3mg, do I go with -0.1 with every bottle?

Hi mate, I mixed her up 100ml batches and lowered it 1mg per bottle from 6mg down to 1mg, I then split the last mg over 2 bottles of 100ml at 0.5mg. I was careful to monitor her stock and only provided the next bottle when the last was empty.

I made sure I wrote "6mg" on every bottle 😉

I usually mix up either 30mls of new recipes or 50mls of the ones she already likes. I guess 0.5 decriments will do. She returns the 30mls she doesnt like and usually has only 1 bottle at all times. It's perfect. I'll keep writing 3mg on em 😁

Thanks man, we're doing good deeds here haha

I can think of two shops that let you pick your nic level. Everything else on the market is preset. Welcome to the wonderful world of DIY!

Note to people sitting on the fence: you can buy your favorite commercial/premium e juice with 0 nicotine and then buy nic from a DIY supplier. All you need is an empty bottle and a syringe to mix. Best of both worlds.

Nice man, I started at 18mg a few years ago, then started diy last year and I'm now down to 1.5mg as well

1.5 is great at home or day off. truly. at work I'm at 9mg because of time management. so easy to move down and wasn't expecting this benefit at all. stay the course!

For a good while I had some super oxidized nic that basically forced me to make 1mg or less liquid. I probably could have easily quit at that point if that was my intention.

It’s really good to hear that people are reducing their nic amounts. I can’t understand the concept of 50mg/ml pods and vaping them to get a buzz. Very irresponsible imo. I also started around 6-9mg/ml, after a year I am basically at 0mg, but if I‘m really stresse, I will vape 1mg. Happy holidays everyone🎄.

Congrats! Did you get withdrawals when you first started vaping at 0mg?
