VG and flavour only.

I just got my first starter kit for making your own ejuice. I have made a few simple ejuice samples (PG+VG+Flavour shot) with different ratios of VG/PG. I have found at even 70/30, I feel like the ejuice is very runny and I seem to have difficulty in finding sweet spot. Either watts/Volts are too low and vapour has less flavour, or watts/volts are too high and vapour is so hot with a lot of condensation (a thin vapour layer on the outside of RDA) which I don't like, it makes my lips sweet and sticky hands etc. However, I have used market ejuices with 70/30 ratio in the past and they were not that runny and didn't gave me that problem.

So I tried to just add flavour shots in VG, and at around VG+ 10 to 15% flavour shot I find juice is thick but still wick well and nice flavour with a squonk and I am using cotton pads so you can get quite a few hits from one squonk.

I have read PG is the flavour carrier while I am finding more flavour with higher VG in my ejuice. What am I doing wrong with ratio? or is it just, whatever suits you?

Its absolutely a case of whatever works, works. Thats the beauty of diy at least for me, the high level of customization afforded. If max vg works for you keep at it. Out of curiosity though are you using a calculator to make your mixes, and are you using a scale or syringes? Is it possible you are adding too much pg by not taking into account the pg in your concentrates/nic? 70/30 is a bit on the thin side for me (prefer 75/25 or 80/20) but it shouldn't be super runny.

What you have read is right though, pg is the 'flavor carrier'.

Thanks.

I am using steam engine website to calculate exact number. I am using a scale but I am sure at this moment there are errors in my mixing, because the scale I am using is not very precise/sensitive probably gonna buy soon. But I find vg only works great as it is giving me flavour also hits are smooth and my coil doesn't make a lot of noises (popping etc).

One more question, how do you find exactly the best % for flavour? For example I added flavour at 10% and its great I am liking it do you just stay there or keep increasing and decreasing the amount to experiment? I am finding it fun but just don't want to finish all the flavours :P

If its flavor shots I belive there should be some suggested percentage from the company, but if 10% or what not is good you can bump it up or down by 1% and see what works. If you're talking about individual concentrates thats where the personal testing/experimenting comes in. Sidebar has a ton of resources, one being single flavor tests which will give you some suggested percentages be it as a main, accent or background/supporting role. Another way would be to reference all the flavors as to what percentage people generally use.

I find flavours are fine with MaxVG juices. I think if you were using a tank it might not work as well as the juice cant wick as fast, but squonking in an RDA I have no issues with it.
