Hey so I've been vaping for a few years now and I decided that I spend too much money on vaping, so I'm making an effort to diy my own juice. I just want to say thank you to all the fine people on this subreddit; I've found a wealth of information on how to get started making my own mixes. I make solutions at work in a biological research lab, so I'm actually really looking forward to all the mixing and calculating and diluting. Just placed my first order, I'm excited! Thanks again everyone!
This sub is what pushed me into DIY. Now 2 years later I’m making stuff that’s better than almost anything I ever vaped from a shop.
Don’t get frustrated if something tastes like shit. I’ve made a ton of bottles that weren’t fit for human consumption. Also always try to single flavor test, it made a huge improvement in my recipes.
Single flavor test?
Yes when you get your flavor order in. Make very small batches of each flavor (I usually do 10ml no nicotine) to get a feel for how they taste on their own. I usually test single flavors after a shake, after 3 days, 7 days, and 2 weeks to see how they change with steep time. Copious notes are taken each test for future reference.
Gives a great baseline and helps find flavors that work well together.
At first you will just copy recipes you find online. But that gets boring quick and you’ll want to try something different by making your own.
Even my single flavors barely taste like anything. I bought all the vanilla/cream flavors from liquid barn and they all taste like a sweet nothing. They have been steeping since november 22nd. I got creme brulee, belgian waffle, snickerdoodle, and Vienna cream. They all taste the same. Got any ideas besides different brand? Haha thanks
Sample test flavors at 1-10% (5%!) alone and you can get the idea of how to work the flavor. Search for the flavor reviews here or the notes on elr will also help adjusting the %s!
Would you mind sharing a favorite recipe, I would be super grateful from a newish DIY'er
Do you like fruit, fruit and cream, bakery/dessert, tobacco, mint? Theres a wealth of knowledge from the vets in this sub you just got to be a little more specific and I'm sure you will get a response. Also, you can view the monthly recipe thread, weekly 'what are you vaping' thread or any of the archived versions of these to get a sense of what people are digging.
I started DIY about a month ago, it is very, very easy and I will never go back to any type of commercial juice ever. I'm sure you are qualified and have done your research, so no helpful hints other than I've learned higher percentage of flavor doesn't mean more flavor, generally. each brand is different, reviews are very helpful, and reddit is amazing.
easy and freaking delicious vape, was my first and it's a true love.
1.5% INW CACTUS LIME with 1% FW CUCUMBER MINT.
no sweetener, nothing else.
that's it. best of luck!
