Cloudy Ejuice
submitted almost 6 years ago by paulpilson

So I mixed up a batch of pineapple ejuice using cap golden pineapple, tfa pineapple and some cactus - 30ml 70/30 vg/pg. I think the percentages were 4/2/1. Came out pretty good and was clear after shaking and settling for a bit (less than one day).

I decided to put together a 60ml batch but changed the formula a bit. 4/3/0.5 same flavors. Shook it and now it’s cloudy after sitting for about a day. This type of cloudy is not the small air bubbles sitting inside it type of cloudy, but rather the juice looks like lemonade.

I decided to try again with a similar recipe to see if perhaps if the juice somehow got contaminated in the mixing process. Another 60ml, the juices look identical.

I can only assume that TFA pineapple is the offending flavor here. Is this typical for this flavor?

Thanks.

TFA Pineapple creates a chemical reaction that leaves a 'suspension'

These little particles make the solution look cloudy. It does go clear after a day or two.

I have used it at 2% just fine with Fresh Cream to smooth it out a bit (pineapple whip)

Thank you. Appreciate the feedback. Makes sense that when I used it in a lower concentration that it did not create the same effect.

A lot of my juices end up doing that. You'll notice it starts to dissipate from the bottom up and by the next day it's clear. It's normal and nothing to worry about.

Thanks again. One of them looks like it’s clearing up from the bottom, but at a much slower rate than I’m used to. I’m going to give it a couple of days and see what happens.

What percent fresh cream did you use? Was it TFA? That recipe sounds amazing

I use FA Fresh Cream at 1.5% and CAP Golden Pineapple at 3%

Usually add 0.5% FA Meringue and 0.5% TFA Apricot to give s couple accents

FA Pear goes quite well in the mix too

Yeah, it's your pineapple . Have a similar issue with a recipe that uses FLV Pineapple. Mix is over a week old but has a look of frosted glass type thing going on.

Yep. Mine is the same. I’m going to give it some time to see if it clears up. It’s odd that it happened when going from 2.5% to 3% (I rechecked my recipe notes). But at least I can rule out that I did something really stupid like contaminate the mix. Thanks for the help.

Can't vouch specifically for the recipe here, but there are times my juice is cloudy as well. I consider it normal for the most part. I mix pg and vg nic. Seems to occur more with vg recipes. Could be the nic, the ingredients themselves mixing with each other differently, etc. The only other side effect I've noticed is gunky coils more it seems. Still good vaped though

For this particular mix, it got cloudy after adding the vg. I do things in a particular order (don’t know why) - nic first, then flavors, then pg, and last the vg. Things were not cloudy until I mixed in the vg.

This happens to me with CAP Sweet Mango. It's super cloudy. I tried a drop or two of TFA Dragonfruit to emulsify it and it worked well.

If you used 2% of TFA Pineapple I'd dump the mix anyways

Thanks for the advice. Care to elaborate why? You don’t like this flavor or is there something that I’m missing?

It's a terrible flavor to be used over 0.5%. It should only be used around 0.3 to add to pineapple mixes lacking that acidity astringent taste that comes with eating real pineapple

Understood. Well I happen to like it in higher concentrations. Was wondering if there is a safety concern or something along those lines.
