Hi guys,
So after a while in and out of vaping and mixing - I decided to try and pick up a recipe I used frequently over the summer.
It's supposed to be a full-blooded raspberry sorbet type thing. I'm not a fan of the more complex, dessert-type mixes that are really frequent on here, so the main goal of this recipe was to create something almost childishly fruity and refreshing.
I'm looking for feedback and how to improve it!
- (FW) Blood Orange - 0.2
- (VT) Fizzy Sherbet - 1
- (FE) Lemon - 1
- (INW) Raspberry - 3.5
- (CAP) Super Sweet - 3
- (OTHR) WS-23 - 1.2
Apologies if this is formatted wrongly.
I don't know if you have the flavors for this, but one of my faves was this recipe from /u/botboy141
2% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Custard
2% INW Raspberry Malina
1% Citric Acid (10%)
2% TFA Sweetener
1% Ethyl Maltol (10%)
0.5% TFA Orange Cream
Can increase flavor percentages up to 50% more to your liking.
Also works as a good 'base' for other sorbets. I'm quite partial to lime, so I swap out the raspberry with INW Shisha lime and a bit of INW lime
If you want to simplify, just use the top 3 ingredients and add some Cap SS (0.5-1%)
Way too much INW raspberry. Of course the 3% SS is probably masking the floral perfume abomination it has created.
No feedback on your recipe but I've got similar tastes and prefer candy flavours over desserts. I've really enjoyed this Icy raspberry. It's got a punchy raspberry flavour and an icy finish. Just add a sour element
Seems like a lot of WS-23 and an absurd amount of SS and INW Raspberry. I'd try 1/6th the SS and 1/7th the INW Raspberry, personally. WS-23 is definitely a personal thing and so I can understand wanting to punch that up to taste, but I feel like anything above ~1% of either of those other two is going to ruin any recipe it goes in.
My concern with this is that you end up with a very weak overall taste. I was looking for something very bold and clear. I didn't want to have to look for hints of flavours, but wanted them to really grab you.
There's sweet, then there's working against yourself. Super sweet is largely sucralose, which is regarded to be 320 to 1000x sweeter than granulated sugar. There is a reason that super sweet is used below 1% more often than not. Fatiguing your palate with that much sweetness will mask the overall flavor of your juice and generally deaden your senses to flavors as a broad topic.
That would then make perfect sense that it is totally nuking the flavor of a very potent raspberry, particularly one that tends to become perfumy or floral when used nearly that high.
This makes a lot of sense, thank you!
I think that my logic at the time was that I assumed a sorbet had so much sugar, but I think you're right.
Do you have any pointers or examples for making strong, very sweet and fruity vapes?
The majority of the highest rated recipes on alltheflavours I find far too weak, really weird flavours and overall quite pretentious. Literally it seems I'd prefer vaping WS-23 by itself than most of those!
