'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of November 11, 2019
submitted almost 6 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the November Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping! We keep an archive of all the past threads in our wiki as well

Happy Vaping!

Decided last week, after over a year of mixing fruit and candy recipes, that I'd branch out and try desserts.

Currently vaping Mother of God's Milk by u/ID10-T after steeping 7 days and I'm really enjoying it.

Gonna be mixing this one real soon

I just ordered my first ever batch of flavors to start diy-ing my liquids. Mother of God's Milk is the first recipe I'm gonna make. This sub seems crazy about the stuff.

I've always preferred fruity flavors. Since you mentioned that you've been mixing your own fruit flavors. I'd be super interested if you could point me towards some good fruit recipes.

Welcome to DIY! That's awesome. What flavours did you go for?

Not just my own, but mostly other people's recipes. The only recipe I have so far that I'd deemed worthy of sharing, wasn't even an idea of mine. It was an idea of u/ID10-T's, I guess I just accidentally put it in his head. It's called 1-2-3 Mango Sprite. The inspiration came from u/ID10-T's 1-2-3 Cranberry Sprite recipe, along with a discussion on Mangos. Not only are they great recipes, but they're simple recipes that do not require a shed load of flavours to create. Easy as 1-2-3, if you will.

Edit: I need to remember to proof read my posts before pressing send.

Is there anything that can replace TPA Strawberry for this? I have all the flavors (including ripe) except the normal strawberry. I also have Harvest berry and Forest mix if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any help. Still trying to get the hang of this diy thing!

2 points

by RushG93almost 6 years ago

Without changing the recipe completely, I wouldn't be too sure. Perhaps u/ID10-T has tried some iterations using different Strawberries with success?

I have Forest Mix and that stuff is great. However, I don't have any experience with Harvest Berry, but I've seen the pair of them used together on more than one occasion. You could maybe add 2% or so of both Harvest Berry and Forest Mix? I reckon that could turn out pretty nice.

I hope this was at least a little helpful! In regards to getting the hang of this DIY thing, you've most certainly came to the right place. This sub is incredible.

Awesome, thanks a ton. Any other simple recipes you could recommend with forest mix? I was really hoping to find a way to create a flavor resembling a huge glob of cool whip slathered on all the berries in forest mix. Unfortunately my selection is still pretty limited so I’m not sure how close I am to doing that.

Is this 2% blend of each to replace 3% in a recipe? I just discovered Strawberry TFA on the Avoid list and that is in several recipes I've made and liked which is a huge bummer. However, I am slightly confused as it doesn't have any warnings on BCF's site and the ingrediant list at TFA doesn't have that listed.

Pb Monkey bread: it a banana bread with peanut butter. It's one I'm working on.

Red monkey bread: banana bread with strawberry. Also working on it

TLL: something I threw together 1% wf sour ball candy, 2% cap lemon lime and 3% cap sweet tangerine.

Breakfast of the gods: by /u/Foment_life 1st test was mostly cinnamon swirl. I'm going to try it in a few days and update. I liked it so far. Update it's delicious, if you haven't mixed you need to!

Currently 4% Cap sweet guava, 1% Inawera raspberry, 0.5% cactus, 0.5% ws-23 and 0.25% Cap supersweet.

It tastes lovely to me.

2 points

by UnappreciatedRobotalmost 6 years agoI have no idea what I'm doing

1% is the upper limit on INW Raspberry for me or it starts to get floral. Do you get any of that in this mix, or does the CAP Sweet Guava cover up most of the floral?

1 points

by thatsconeloveralmost 6 years ago

I think it blends well and it doesn't seem that floral to me, but I do like floral flavours so there is that.

I might try tweaking it next time and lowering the raspberry to 0.5-0.8% while adding some marshmallow and INA grape. I added this mix to a marshmallow/grape mix in my tank and it was lovely, so I'm going to mess around with it at some point.

I am currently vaping my Snickerdoodle recipe, and doing SFT's on a new batch of flavors.

Guava (INW): I have CAP Sweet Guava, and it's pretty decent, but tastes more like nectar than the actual fruit. As someone who loooooooves fresh, green guava, I was looking for something a bit more "spritzy".

I tested this at 3% with an Aegis Legend/Mesh Pro/SS316L .12ohm set-up, 90 watts, TCR 092, 400-550F

This flavor is, to me, very accurate. If you're unfamiliar with eating yellow or green guava, you can actually eat the skin/rind (hence my quest for that "spritz"), and I find this method more enjoyable than scooping it out with a spoon. This concentrate actually nails it. The bitterness is nicely balanced, and the juiciness is there (guava is not necessarily the juiciest), but could be helped with INW Cactus. I'm going to bump this up to 5%, then see how it plays with others in a mix.

I considered making a thread for this last night, but I don't know enough about it just yet to warrant it. I will say, however, that I think this flavor has a lot of potential.

It's not listed on ATF, but it's in the "Discontinued" list on NicRiv if I've at all piqued your interest. Big discount.

I absolutely agree with what you said about cap sweet guava, it misses the mark for me because it has no skin. Can you please post your modified prickly victory recepie with the inw guava. Seeing this comment made me soo happy, because guava is one of my favourite fruits. And I though sweet guava was the best guava out there.

2 points

by saybeautifulthingsalmost 6 years ago

I had to look up that Prickly Victory that you mentioned, as I was unfamiliar with it. If I were to make that with INW Guava, I would probably keep INW Cactus below 1%, personally, but I'm not opposed to at least trying that percentage out.

2 points

by AnOrangeChocolateCakalmost 6 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Oh I'm just starting out, and made sure I picked up flavours for a few simple recepies. Hence the prickly victory. It's not bad per say, but I just ate a fully ripened yellow guava(white on the inside) today, the flavours in the juice and the fruit are kind of far apart :(

Poor little me, Will have to wait for a recepie with cactus and inw guava to pop up, because it seems really tough for me to guess the right percentages.

Whats that snickerdoodle recipe if you dont mind sharing?

1 points

by saybeautifulthingsalmost 6 years ago

It's a work in progress, but:

I made the mistake of ordering FW Sugar Cookie (contains Acetoin), and instead of just tossing it, I've decided to use up until I make my next order, and replace it with CAP, and a few others I'd like to try.

When I first made it, I did:

7% FW Sugar Cookie

3% Cap Cinnamon Danish Swirl

3% TFA Bavarian Cream

.5% FA Meringue

.5% TFA Vanilla Swirl

I enjoyed that very much after a 2-week steep.

I am now trying it like this:

7% FW Sugar Cookie

2.5% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl

2.5% TFA Bavarian Cream

.5% Vanilla Swirl

.5% Meringue

.25% FLV Rich Cinnamon

I'm trying it every day and taking notes. Thus far, I believe the Rich Cinnamon is a bit much at .25%, completely dominating the CDS that I dropped down half a percent. I find that CDS needs a little steep before it shines, though, so, we'll see. I actually believe that I will end up dropping the Bavarian Cream again, possibly to 1.5%-2%. This one could be a dud, or it could end up being great. Even if this version is not exactly a perfect Snickerdoodle yet, it's not like it's flat-out disgusting. I mean, it's fucking Rich Cinnamon. This stuff is beautiful (if used responsibly!).

So I made 4 variations of a blueberry/mixed fruit and cream recipe about 2 weeks ago and while nothing to write home about they are decent and vapeable, just killing off some 10ml testers at this point. I also made another strawberry and (bavarian) cream that is good off a 1 week steep so far, kind of a mother/gods/dragon milk mashup-

 • (TPA) Bavarian Cream 3.5%

 • (VT) Vanilla Buttercream Frosting 2.5%

 • (CAP) Sweet Strawberry 3%

 • (INW) Shisha Strawberry 2%

 • (TPA) Dragonfruit 1%

 • (CAP) Super Sweet 0.25%

It may be old news to some but after discovering that I actually could taste certain strawberries I've be on a bit of a mission to (re)discover this classic juice.

Other than that, I stumbled on Wintermint Cream about a week ago. Its some really tasty stuff, to me resembling a creamy wintermint lifesaver and I've gone through around 30ml in that time. No idea how it tastes steeped but after ~12 hrs its pretty damn good. Nice recipe by /u/foment_life, worth mixing if you have the ingredients, if not well go pick em up!

Glad you like it!

If you want to play with a fun strawberry mix, look at DAAled pears and replace the pears and apple with 2% Shisha strawberry and 1.5% red touch.

Nice heads up. I actually have INW custard and red touch in my bull city black friday cart (already have the rest of the ingredients) so I might as well throw in TPA pear and try out both versions.

Right on. I've been playing with a few variants if you like spiced creams or mixed berries.

4% real flavors pink candy burst in an old T18ii with 20mg salt. Very simple and basic, but it accidentally got me to quit smoking, and stop dual using, almost 3 months ago now, so that’s cool!

Other than my front post of Bananas Foster, I am working on a new fruit drink and testing this week.

NZ Dew

 • TFA Kiwi Double 2.5%
 • VT Fizzy Sherbert 1.5%
 • FA Pear 1%
 • Sugar Daddy 0.25%
 • INW Cactus 0.1%

New Zealand twist on Mountain Dew

Going to play around with 3 other flavors to see what can elevate this a bit without massively changing the profile.

Vaping the following mixture in a 70/30 VG to PG mix, 0 mg Nicotine:

4% CAP Vanilla Custard V2

3.5% TFA Western

2.5% TFA DX Marshmallow

I strongly suggest 24 hour steep, at least. ATF page says up to 14 days and to use 50/50 VG/PG. The above is exactly half of the percentages of an ATF recipe located here. CREDIT: KylezKloudz for sharing someone else's recipe of this. Kylez has a Reddit account, but I avoided using the /u tag since they have not commented or posted.

When tasting it as a shake-n-vape, felt the marshmallow and custard percentages were still too high. May still play around with lowering those and/or increasing the TFA Western. Or might substitute TFA Turkish in there for S&G's.

Chain vaped this stuff last night, going through almost 10mL. That's on the high side of my usually consumption. So yeah, enjoying the heck out of it.

EDIT: Using 18 watts with a Theorem RDTA using a pair of 0.6 ohm 28 ga. SS316 coils pressed together to form a single coil.

Saw mustard milk and thought I’d try it with pineapple instead of strawberry to make a pineapple dole whip type thing

6% TFa pineapple juicy

8% CAP VBIC

It’s pretty good imo

Had a week break from vaping coz a particular flavour I used seemed to give me bad asthma, won't name it until I've run another test to be sure.

I'm an asthmatic so I expect sometimes my lungs will react to stuff, and this is the first time I've had this much issues in 3yrs vaping DIY.

Lungs are back to normal now so from today I can get back to one of my favourite hobbies again.

Back on my old faithful Tribeca adv again until I'm sure things are fully settled.

Was nice to not have any strong cravings for nicotine like I used to from cold turkey giving up ciggies.
