So it looking more and more likely that not just States are shutting down flavors but the federal government. How will this effect the DIY community?
They can't ban flavors. They can't ban PG. They can't ban VG. They are going to tax nic out the ass. The bill was moved into the Senate earlier this week.
>The bill was moved into the Senate earlier this week
This is incorrect. It was only voted to move forward in the house. Still has to pass the full house, then the Senate, then be signed by the President. It's definitely something to keep a close eye on but who knows what will eventually become of it. In light of everything currently happening and another impending budgetary gridlock I can't see this being a priority at the moment. Also, if it makes it far enough before election day I can't see either party doing anything to piss off a large chunk of voters so there still may be time to bring in some common sense. I don't put a lot of faith in that but it ain't a done deal yet.
Yes, it's absolutely not a done deal yet, and I agree with all your points.
The bill has been introduced to the Senate already though. It is, most likely, in the Finance Committee's hands, where it'd be probably rewritten and presented to the full Senate.
Hopefully, around 2090, they will have a final bill that will be sent to Chelsea Clinton's great-grandchild who will veto it
It appears that 45 is going to skip the whole process and save everyone the trouble. https://www.axios.com/trump-ban-flavored-vaping-products-4830652d-af8d-4c84-81b0-2174e9ad3344.html
Let's suppose the worst-case scenario happens and they taxed the living hell out of the nic. Would it be any other place to get it than the usual places?
I can't come up with any good answers for that
China
Why do you think that they cannot ban flavors? Of course flavors are used mainly in food but companies like Flavorah focus' exclusively on vaping. Some flavor companies had to shut down already. One in Michigan was forced to do so. I think it wouldn't be a problem to ban flavors for the e-liquid market, may it be companies or individuals. It's the same as with online sales bans. Most vapers thought that this was impossible but why should it be? If the fines for the companies are high enough they would refuse to accept orders. That's what happened in my country and it works.
Considering stocking up on Nic even though I haven't started DIY yet. This is ridiculous.
DIY wise, my guess worst scenario, is a complete ban on internet nic sales. How will it effect DIY? Suspect it's going to be extremely hard to find quality nic that can be imported/sold to/in this country.
Looks like the ANTZ = Anti Nicotine and Tobacco Zealots are going after pre made (non moving easier target) e-liquid first.
If anything they will try to crack down on the nicotine base, I ordered a bunch of premixed 80/20 .3mg on liquid nicotine wholesalers.com, got a gallon for $70 👍 always better to be safe than sorry. But my best guess is they might ban flavored juice and you will always be able to fine tobacco or unflavored vape juice and the industry will move to "oneshot" flavors.
True, I agree (didn't know about RF). However the vape shops can't survive with the sale of tobacco and menthol. Dr. Farsalinos' flavor study showed that only 7.7% of the vapers use tobacco flavors. 92.3% don't. With menthol it's similar, only 12.8% are vaping on it and 87.2% don't.
