Hi, first post here and newbie mixing juices. Im using koolada v3 from aromea with good results, can i change the brand or there is much difference? Thanks in advance!
no there is ws-3, ws-5, ws-23 and ws-30 probably more that I dont know of
but the best one to use is ws-23 nearly no off flavours or muting IMO
edit: just to clarify these are completely different cooling agents
lots of people seem to be unaware of this, they are very different and not the same chemical
There are about 40 of the WS-* chemicals(all developed by Wilkinson Sword chemists trying to improve shaving creams and aftershave lotions). Only about a dozen have GRAS classification, and only WS-3, WS-5, and WS-23 are commonly used (if they can all be considered commonly used). There are also two or three other coolants with GRAS classification that were developed independently.
Currently the best thing to use is a combination of WS-23 and FA Polar Blast, as it allows not using too much of either while giving sustained cooling so you avoid a warm inhale or exhale (which would make a beer vape a weird combination of english style ale (warm) and proper German lager (cold)...and popsicles would be impossible to sell with a blast of warmth)
I've just received ws-23 and never worked with cooladas, i've multiplied amount of koolada 10% by 0,33 (to recuce amount from 30% to 10%) and used it in a recipe and it was horrible. Is this even comparable? The low amount of koolada 10% was supposed to give a slight freshness but this just trampled everything it was spicy. I wanted just an ice cream freshness.
I tried mixing twister lolly
Question tho, are both koolada and ws-23 both kooladas and ws is just 3* stronger? Is it even safe to vape this? Im never gonna use more than 3 drops of this per 100ml its that strong.. i ordered it cuz koolada was out of stock
WS-23 is half as potential as WS-3 (koolada). However, koolada is typically a 10% solution shile WS-23 is usually a 30% solution (so the same amount of concentrate is 50% more cooling than koolada). Note VT has a 10% solution of WS-23, that you need twice as much of as you would've needed with normal koolada.
it is very strong when i got mine i decided to try 1 drop directly on my coil and it was like vaping liquid nitrogen coughed by lungs out for 5 minutes
its the same thing with flavours though everyone has different sensitivities to certain chemicals
some great flavours taste like ass to some people and some people need very little of it to get the effects.
for safety juthinc noted the ones we use are GRAS (geneally regarded as safe) somewhere people manufacture and work with these chemicals
still dosen't mean its good for you or harm free free but it won't kill you, just like vaping
they are all known as koolada but are not the same chemical ws-3 is different than 23
I’m also a newbie and when I stated that my recipe called for koolada, an experienced mixologist suggested that I also used ws-23 instead. So sorry to tell y’all that I haven’t mixed it up yet but I did get the way-23 as a cooler.
they are all known as koolada, better to just call them by their WS names though and 23 is generally the best one AFAIK
edit: my bad koolada is ws-3, I have seen it used interchangeably for other WS but it's wrong
If it is actually koolada (aka WS-3) then it's probably the same as anyone else's. FA Polar Blast is koolada (at a lower concentration) plus menthhyl lactate. So it's different. And IIRC Inawera sells WS-23 (which is different) as "Koolada WS-23" so that's different. But almost everyone else selling koolada sells it as a 10% solution of WS-3.
You can change the brand, its more or less down to personal preference, lots of good explanations from others so I wont bother posting the same info, but in a nutshell its perfectly fine to use a different brand or kind, just be aware of the dilution and know what your putting in :D, More or less as long as you know what you are using is safe (which just means it is from a legit place), then its all just a matter of what you like. Happy vaping :D
