'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of October 21, 2019
submitted almost 6 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the October Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping! We keep an archive of all the past threads in our wiki as well

Happy Vaping!

Got into tobaccos lately (still waiting for a lot of INW tobaccos)

  • Arabian Night's - My favorite tobacco so far, needs at least week to let everything balance, especially the Arabian tobacco.
  • Sweet Leaf - A little flat to my taste
  • Abuela - Wow, definitely going to mix this again. Weird at first but better after 5 days. The mango overwhelms the tobacco quite fast and the tobacco base is interesting.
  • Southerner - Vaped 4ml and decided it could use more steep. Another unique profile for me, the bourbon note is brutal here.
  • Euphora - Vaped 2ml and it was delicious, decided to let it steep more so I will not finish it before the 2 weeks mark.

Natural sweetness... I'll let you know my thoughts on VT Sugar Cane when it shows up.

Another option I've heard of is Purilum Super Sweet.

VT Sugar Cane sounds interesting. If PUR Super Sweet is pure sucralose (as opposed to CAP's), FW Sweetener will also suffice. Thanks!

You're welcome.

From another mixer's notes:

"I think PUR Sweetener is a PG/VG mix -- it is thicker than CAP Super Sweet. It also seem sweeter than CAP super sweet without the slight bitter aftertaste that CAPs has. So I venture to say PUR doesn't have the citric acid and other preservatives that CAP does. It's also sweeter than FW's and even FW has a artificial taste with a bit of a bitter back note. PUR just seems really sweet."

The weather has finally cooled off and I've been celebrating with a bunch of Cinnamon Burn Victim by /u/chemicalburnvictim that I'd been saving for months just for this occasion. It's different after such a long steep but no less wonderful. Lost its cereal crunch and the cinnamon is a little more subdued but it's super rich and smooth. If I had to compare it something IRL I'd say it's like you wanted bread pudding and didn't have any bread so you just used Cinnamon Toast Crunch instead and then after it was cooked, topped it with a pour of heavy cream. This goes so well alongside my morning coffee.

So busy with single-flavor cakes I've only had time to try two new things this week. One is the Caliburn Berries & Cream by /u/coop34 . It's not bad. I think Coop has found just the right amount of Forest Fruit to use in this device, which I appreciate. I'm withholding judgment and reviewing because I'm getting a little odd sour note and I don't think it's the recipe's fault. My bottle of CAP VBIC is very, very old and I think it's gone a little off. I've tossed it and ordered another and then I'll try this again after it arrives. Although I mixed it as written without thinking twice, now that I think about it I have some concerns about the 0.75% Super Sweet. The last recipe I made for this device that at 1% Super Sweet was amazing at first, but my pod didn't quite last for all 30ml before burning up. I don't expect much from these things but I would like to get through a 30, you know? I think when I mix Caliburn Berries & Cream again I'm going to lower it to 0.5%.

The other is something I'm tinkering around with. I've somehow convinced (long story) myself I can make an amazing simple recipe combining TFA Honeysuckle and FA Almond as the main notes, with a vanilla candy backdrop. But, the first attempt had too much of both and I'm not sure about WF Candy Stick Candy as the third ingredient. Too dry. Thinking of switching to FLV Marshmallow Vanilla next time. Anyone have any other suggestions for that?

I was concerned about the .75% CAP SS in Berries & Cream as well, but I have the pasito, so I didn't mind that it killed my coil. I was more concerned that it would be overly sweet, but it worked really well in a pod. I think .5% would still be good.

I like that sour note from the VBIC. How long did it steep? For me it mellowed some after a couple weeks.

Agree with you about SS. After using a new pod, I realized .75% is a tad high, at least for some people. I don't care, I still like it!

I'm still learning how to mix again for a low-powered device. I haven't had this one long enough to know what kind of life expectancy to expect from them. And since I only use it when wanting to be stealthy. it's a little harder to judge.

The sour note is supposed to be there? Are you saying I chucked my 3-year-old bottle of CAP VBIC for nothing?!

It steeped for basically zero time. I mixed it Monday morning started vaping it Monday afternoon.

I'm with you on learning to mix again AND on only using it when wanting to be stealthy. Unfortunately I'm wanting to be stealthy about 40 hours a week -- not having to go outside for vape breaks leaves so much room for activities!

I have to say the 0.75% SS tastes like the right amount. We'll have to see if it lets me get through 30 ml without burning up a pod, though. I know it's possible because I've gone through a couple 30mls of different recipes without sweetener. That's all I ask, 30mls out of a pod. 1% has proven to be too much for that. Maybe I can make it to the bottom of the bottle with 0.75%.

I won't say I was trying for that sour note, just happened to like it. FF is all high notes to me, and wanted to give it some bottom notes. Was really just pushing everything to it's upper limit because nothing I have been mixing for this device has been better than just boring.

Since you are using it way more than me, I'd really appreciate your final verdict on pod life with this much SS.

I made Chase the Dragon by /u/Foment_life. It's a cherry lemonade with dragonfruit. Cherries are tricky but I really love it! It tastes almost coconutty which I enjoy. Just the thing as the weather starts to warm up.

Right now I'm just working on a 60ml of 1-2-3 Cranberry Sprite. Its such a simple but good recipe. I add .25% of CAP Super Sweet just because my own tastebuds tell me that's nicer but even without it, thumbs up.

I love Almond Joy IRL. How close is it to the real deal?

by Morgan_Druryalmost 6 years agoCoil Sauce Sommelier

I'd have to get an Almond Joy bar to do a side by side comparison

*It's been years since I've had one. So my memory might not be accurate.

Butterscotch Banana Ice Cream by the Developed Crew. I have been really digging banana vapes lately so when this was released, I had to mix it up. Just looking at the flavors, there is no way this was going to be anything but amazing. Everything came together very nicely and it is very accurate to its name.

Key Lime Cookie by u/RockyHarlow. I have been meaning to mix this one up for quite awhile. Maybe my taste buds are broken, but I was really surprised when I vaped this and got almost no lime flavor. At 3% FA Florida Key Lime, the lime should be pretty strong. Unfortunately, it looks like the 6% sugar cookie, 1.5% FA Meringue, and 1% FW Hazelnut muted that poor lime until it became just a whisper. The good news: even without tasting much lime, the recipe is still delicious. The hazelnut and meringue really help fill out CAP Sugar Cookie. I really think that combo could be used as a solid sugar cookie base for a bunch of other recipes. It would just take a bit of tweaking to ensure any secondary flavors (such as the lime in this case) actually come through.

I'm actually in the middle of a revision of Key Lime Cookie utilizing TPA Key Lime in conjunction with the FA Florida Key Lime and lessening the CAP Sugar Cookie. I do plug and play that cookie base a lot for multiple fruits. Pineapple and Apple are both nice choices to mix and match as well.

I'll tag you when I post the revised edition of the Key Lime Cookie in a week or two.

That’d be great, thanks! I want to experiment with that cookie base myself now.

FA cookie makes a nice compliment to CAP sugar cookie. I love the Hazelnut in there to add that darker/nutty edge.

I would totally mix that Butterscotch Banana Ice Cream if my ass wasn't glued to this chair right now.

A Strawberry Cream Custard. Nothing ground breaking but delicious nonetheless.

FA Custard Premium 3.5%,

FA Vanilla Classic 0.5%,

OOO Creamy Milky Undertone 1.5%,

FA Red Touch 1.15%,

INW Shisha Strawberry 2.25%,

JF Sweet Strawberry 1.15%,

TPA Dragon Fruit 0.25%,

Bloody delicious even off the shake.

I needed to put together a new recipe for MTL use last night and I came up with this. Apparently I've gone off on a tear making tobacco flavors. I'm really happy with the how the coffee maple, and nutty notes are complement the tobaccos.

Just started mixing and experimented with four recipes I came up with. Scrapped one, two need work, but one came out delicious. Botanical Gin VT 4% Florida Key Lime FA 1% Cucumber Cap 1% Mixed at 70/30 3mg nic. Very tasty, was good right off the bat and even better after a week. The VT Gin tastes just like Gin, but doesn't have that piney over bearing Juniper flavor. In the future I may try a summer version by upping the cuke a bit and adding a little WS-23

My first successful recipe after a month of DIY. I call it burple slush. It’s a blue raspberry/grape slush with a hint of strawberry!

8% OSDIY blue raspberry slush 3% LNW Grape 2.5% TFA sweet raspberry 2% TFA strawberry Steep for 6 days. Add some cooling agent if you want.

It’s still not super fine tuned but it’s my first good mix haha

I've been vaping Neptune juice from mister e liquid for years and also been trying to diy a likeness to it for quite a while.

Haven't been able to find any flavor combo close to get going on, anyone tried this and have some helpful input? Description says strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla and I've tried a lot of combos with those flavors and they are nothing like it.

The request a clone thread seems to have died a long time ago...
