There really isn't a set average for total flavoring because there are thousands of flavors that all have a different ideal range that they can be used within. If you consider all the possible combinations of those flavors you'll see recipes that range from less than 1% all the way up to nearly 30%.

My highest one was 22% and came out really good, but I have been experimenting with creating recipes and shooting for about 15-20% to start, and yesterday I created one that was CLEARLY over-saturated with flavoring. I had to create an unflavored mix and dilute it. Still haven't gotten to test it yet, though.

I'm new at this, but one thing I have definitely learned so far is that there is no set amount of flavoring across all recipes.

You can play with total percentage. If you make a concentrate you can then mix it at different total percentages and see what it does to the flavour. I have made some recipes taste better that way. Recipes are nothing else than just ratios.

And ingredients.

Total crap shoot.

There are too many flavors that are so wildly potent or incredibly weak that any notion of a set percentage of overall flavor would always have caveats attached to it.

Can you give an example of one of your mixes?

hi .

i mix this kinda simple strawberry Strawberry Ripe TFA @ 4% Sweet Strawberry Cap @ 2% VBIC TFA @ 4% Sweet Cream. TFA @ 1% super sweet. Cap @ 0.5%

Couple things stand out to me. Those are both strawberries that fade, sweet cream may not be what you're actually looking for in its function, and CAP super sweet is mostly sucralose which is already in sweet strawberry.

I have a similar recipe here that might work for you.

It uses more sweet strawberry and less ripe, replaces sweet cream with vanilla swirl (which helps blend the recipe and doesn't get cheesy like sweet cream can) and adds some graham cracker clear in lieu of additional sweetener.

Here's a simple strawberries and cream I make for my friends. They love it. I don't personally like fruit vapes.

Meringue (TPA) - 3.00%

Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA) - 2.00%

Super Sweet (CAP) - 1 drop per 10ml

Sweet Cream (CAP) - 2.00%

Sweet Strawberry (CAP) - 2.00%

Shake and vape. No steep time. Nice and easy.

I'm usually in the range of 1-21% depending on the flavors used. I've gone lower once, don't think I've gone higher.

Most of what I do is in the 6-12% range tho...

I am in about the same as most others around 10-20% very rarely up to 25 but depends on what my intent to make is. I would suggest using an RDA at your bench and test your juices while you are making them, I have found it saves me quite a bit of time, I will know right at my bench it needs more or needs dilution or whatever. Hope this helps and Happy Vaping :D

I had to quit one group because people would tell me that if you use over 10% flavor that it will DECREASE the flavor.

Using a set number like 10% would be wrong, but they are right in that over-flavoring would decrease the flavor

sorry should have been a bit more clear, it wasnt that I didnt agree that it is possible, it was just literally having people tell me that the ONLY reason my juice would be not getting good flavor is because I went over 10%, they literally said that 100% flavoring would be less flavor than 10%, at that point I stopped posting there.

Ive been in the land of 6% total for a while now and usually have no issues with blandness. Thats 3 flavours, 1% 2% 3% .

I’m really new to all this too, but have already found % depends heavily on flavors being used. But I’m also not the best at picking out fine flavors. Like I found a “clone” to A White I like, it’s 15% and some others up to 20% but then I just tried a Pecan Peanut Butter recipe and at 9.5% I’m liking it. I also have 2 lemon recipes that started at 7.5% but I’ve been increasing them over a couple stages to 14.99% and I’ll give that a try after a small steep. How do y’all decide the steep length?

Steep length is usually indocated by the flavprs used. Many tobaccos need a month, so if you use them, steep a month. If you're using FA Lemon Sicily - well, why aren't you using INW Lemon Mix, it's twice as potent and has way more staying power - you need to either vape it right away (if under 1%) or vape it as soon as ypu wake up tomorrow, peesuming you mixed it tonight, because it's gonna vanish inside three days once it stops tasting like lemon pledge. But normally, whatever the longest steep time requirement of any flavor used is the best choice of steep time. Unless it's just being used as additive or accent. Frequently, tho, people will periodocally test a recipe and make note of when the marginal utility of more steeping time on improvong the flavor drops low enough. (Although sometimes, there could be a much later time that gets a sudden boost in how gpod the juice is, so there's that.)

I would think you'd want somwthing that tastes more like lemon zest (used much more irl with creams, as lemon juice would curdle.

Sorry I’m slow to notice replies, haha. I’m using WonDer Flavors Lemon Squares.
