Best Raspberry Recipes?
submitted almost 6 years ago by SaCanty

Hey everyone! I'm curious what your favorite raspberry flavors and recipes are. I've been chasing a good brew for years but gave up. A lot of flavors have this strangle rubbing alcohol aftertaste. Recipies can be either fruity or more candy based as I'm a huge fan of raspberries all around.

I know its hard to get a sour flavor with DIY but I feel like thats what's almost always missing,

I love lemonade recipes too so a raspberry lemonade would be amazing!

I'd pick up some LA Lemonade -- use around 6%.

Then there's INW Shisha Raspberry and INW Raspberry. Both wildly popular and extremely potent -- use around 1%.

FW Razzleberry is a good candy type raspberry as well.

I’ll try this tonight. Only one percent? That’s some potent berry blood

Yeah, very potent. Starts to get floral really quick. I usually go 1.25% with shisha and 1% with the regular.

Raspberry lemonade? No problem.

5% LA Lemonade
2% VT Shisha Raspberry
.5% FA Polar Blast
.5% WS-23
.5% INW Lemon Mix
.5% INW Shisha Raspberry
.3% INW Raspberry Malina
.2% INW Cactus
(Cooling to your tolerances, but the aim is lemonade, not NeoCitran, so it needs cooling. You may want to add .5% FA Blackcurrant or .25% FA Marzipan to give it a little more red sweetness...)

Perfect! I’ll have to pick up a few flavors for this. I noticed that VT raspberry was the primary flavor in this. What kind of raspberry does that emulate?

Actually it isn't. It backs up the INW Raspberry. The potency of the VT is less than INW. Malina Raspberry is all floral topend. INW Raspberry Shisha is a more complete raspberry. VT Shisha is similar to INW shisha, slightly more candyish. The blend tries to get a realistic raspberry with candy undertones. Problem is, different people taste different things with vatious raspberry flavors. And INW having three raspberry flavors, and some confusion as to which versions different rebottlers mean by what they label them as... (INW loves confusion like this, see their six cherry flavors for reference...)

Yeah I’ve noticed that about INW. I’ve got their raspberry molat I believe which sounds like a tiny Eastern European car

I add 1% Key Lime TPA for sourness. You could also add Lemon Sicily FA at 1-2% for sourness, too.

Isn't that key lime on the avoid list due to it containing vitamin E?

How do you feel about blue raspberry?

1 points

by SaCantyalmost 6 years ago

I love it! Just a dumb bit of trivia- blue raspberry was a real type of raspberry (although it wasn’t blue) and it morphed into its own flavor in candy. I love it and would appreciate anything you’ve got

I'm quite fond of my black raspberry mix. Tastes a bit like berry pastilles.

Black Raspberry | % ---|--- FA Raspberry | 7 FA Black currant | 4 TFA Sweetener | 2

It is, thanks :)

My current batch of it has a few percent of FLV Sweet Coconut. Made it taste like a VERY sweet pastry of some kind.

That's for a pod, or are you still rocking a eGo?

4% Blackcurrant? That's insanity.

I'm rocking a Vaporesso SKRR with a Revenger X mod. No idea if it works in a pod.

Also FA black currant is a bit weak as it is. At least all three bottles i've consumed so far.

1% gives plenty of flavor. I once pushed it to 2% and it got strange.

I’m vaping a raspberry menthol right now by mogul. It’s amazing. Wish I had a recipe for it but it has the right amount of raspberry and the menthol isn’t overpowering at all. If you can find a recipe or someone knows a decent raspberry menthol that I could mix that would be great.

I’ll look around and if something good comes up I’ll let you know!

I am not sure if you are familiar with using additives to any of your juices and I would certainly recommend doing your own research before you just accept my word or anyone else but, I would suggest you do some research on citric acid, it is a very good alternative to the questionable malic acid (I say questionable because it has been brought up it does not work, I am not necessarily sure this is true, but has been reported by reputable sources so I wont bring it as an option) which is sold as sour. Citric acid is often used to give a bit of a gentle sour flavor. You can check up on it and see about any safety concerns and or sourcing it. If you do decide to pursue it just with any additive use it responsibly. I really do wish you all the best and hope this helps you a bit.

Thanks! I’ll look into citric acid because I’d love to get the sour taste in my mixes. I’ve been mixing since 2015 and some of my older recipes literally called for lemon juice 😬.

Not a recipe as such, but i adore inw rasp and fa rasp. Tbh these are delightful solo or as part of a mix, they are quite dominant and dont need much % to deliver/bully the shit out of a mix. I find inw quite candy and fa quiet realistic. Hope this is of some use.

I’ll definitely have to try them solo. What percentages do you recommend?

I recommend Liquid Barn products. Their stuff is top quality and tastes amazing. Here’s what I get:

I’ve got their blue raspberry but I haven’t tried it yet! What percentage do you recommend?

Honestly I just went with what they recommended on their website and then added a bit more on top of that and it turned out great. I’m not sure how much I actually added because I just free handed it.

And if people don't like the ratio method I was taught, or they don't like the recipe, why down vote it? Why not just pass over it and read the other comments? Take what they need and leave the rest alone.

Yeah that’s pretty lame 😒

If you like blue raspberry and sour try this. http://tjek.nu/r/hFP2 I got a couple of other sour recipes on there as well. I really like sour and have been using it more then most things.

Capella harvest berry is a great all in one blend that takes out all the guesswork.

If you love raspberry you need to try FLV boysenberry, you'll Toss raspberry aside. Its expensive though, but worth it.

And as always, you need INW cactus. I was told to buy it when I was on my raspberry journey but I though, fucking expensive cactus? No thanks. I went another year vaping boysenberry unbeknownst to me that all fresh fruit flavors really do deserve that 0.5% cactus.

And maybe a sucralose based sweetener if you got deep pockets.

TFA citrus punch at 1% with either boysenberry or harvest berry are good.

My raspberry of choice is Lorann and I pair it with boysenberry often.

10% raspberry and 10% Salmiakki (salty liqourice). Maku anarkia salmiakki is good.

Tfa sweet raspberry 5u, dx Bavarian cream 3u, 2 drops lemon/10ml I mix the total amount of the 2 flavors together at 20%

by diydivaflowersalmost 6 years ago

WTH? Who and why was I down voted?!

2 points

by BulldogIrishalmost 6 years ago"I Bet I Could Clone That"

Probably because the DX on the one people hate DX flavors and no flavor brand attached like Cap Tfa Fa... I didn't down vote lol but I could see that being why

1 points

by diydivaflowersalmost 6 years ago

They are both TFA that's why I only put TFA once. I figured people would get it. Also why don't people like DX flavors and what do they use in their place?
