Take the bigger container of nicotine and split it into smaller dark amber or cobalt glass bottles then put all in the freezer. The purpose of the smaller bottles is you only take a small amount at a time out to "thaw" when mixing instead of having to be in&out with 1 big bottle

Surely there's no point in putting it in amber bottles while it's in the freezer. You could just have one amber bottle that you use for the active nic..

Leaving it all in the 1 big bottle would mean every time you need nic for the small bottle you'd have to "thaw" the big bottle which can lead to it not staying fresh as long. It's much simpler to have several smaller ones in the freezer and only thaw 1 at a time when mixing

I just meant whatever cheap small bottles will work in the freezer.

I've been diy-ing for like 18mo. My question is I have 3qts. Of 100mg nude nic in my freezer (been there for like 4mo. Since last re-order) but it's in the plastic containers should I thaw and put into smaller amber glass containers then re-freeze or leave alone

Yes I had my 500ml OG NicRiver bottle in the freezer a few months before I had the $ for amber bottles. Also I wasn't able to buy enough amber bottles to divide the entire 500mls so I left remaining amount in the OG bottle

So it'll be ok to thaw once then re-freeze I was just curious, especially cause nude sucks out the oxygen and replaces with some kind of gas to make it better for long term storage but plastic can't possibly be good for long term storage, any specific bottles I know amber but like top wise to seal it, tia

Freeze it in smaller bottles.

I keep the bulk of mine in amber glass in the freezer, I keep about 50ml in the fridge which is what I use for mixing. Both are 100mg.

I think the most important thing is to keep the nicotine at a constant temp. If you put it in the fridge, continue keeping it in the fridge. If you put in the freezer, continue keeping it in the freezer. I keep my in the freezer and pull out a small bottle at a time. You’ll also want to keep it out of the light as much as possible.

I bought a small bottle to try diy out. If I intend on using it within the next few months and keep it stored at room temperature in a dark room, it’ll be fine, right?

Minimize exposure to heat, light, air. And the higher the concentration the faster oxidation happens.

That said, it'll probably be fine for a couple of months like that. I have seen some people saying that is how they roll. I can't say for sure because I have always bought a liter at a time and followed the storage recs.

Yeah its fine, my nic stays out for like 6 months room temperature before I finish the bottle and its fine, discolors a little, still tastes fine, might be loosing a tiny amount of potency, but it doesn't bother me a bit.

I've had a bottle since April 10th in my garage (which was kind of an experiment) and it's still ok, although slightly oxidized. I don't expect it to last much longer, as the color change seems to be accelerating, but ~6 months is pretty good under other than optimum conditions.
