There's been an influx of lost new people who are in a complete panic. While most people should read the sidebar and the wiki and use the search function, most will post their own thread because their situation is particular to them. If I don't have anything to add, or if im feeling frustrated at the low effort posting, I step back and take a breath. At that point someone has already given sage advice. I do think now is a good time for us with a little bit of knowledge to dig a little deeper and keep the positivity. If a weekly questions thread were searchable easily, I'd say bring it back. AA trained me to remember that the new guy is the most important person in the room and that we all had at least a little help and support to get where we are today. It can help you too. Read u/ID10-T's last Call to Action. Let's step it up, peeps, and pull some people into the life raft.

That said, I don't envy the Mods (at least the ones that do the work amirite?) and a gentle reminder to anyone with questions to do a little digging first. It really helps. I get that most were forced to do it yourself, and you came here asking for help, but this is sort of a self help situation. Most everything is by suggestion, you definitely have to do some legwork.

As for the lurkers and intermediates, take a few hours out a week to write up a post of some original content and post it. Over the next few months, expect literal thousands of newcomers to the forum. You'd be as surprised by who relates to your stuff as much as who could benefit from the little you may feel you know. Or just comment on a post. Even if it's to say thank you for your effort.

Ways to engage with the sub
- Link to a recipe you tried on the weekly: What are you vaping thread?. Leave a review on atf if it isn't yours. This helps. A lot.
- Ask for help in the right place: If you want help list your flavors (with formatting) in the weekly Suggest a recipe thread. It is posted on fridays. You may not get an answer right away. Iirc I had to post twice when I first started. Maybe you have some oddball flavors and it's tough to make a suggestion.
- Comment: Have an opinion on what should be included in a First Order? Share your knowledge and be a part of the community, or even in all the various other posts if just to say, "I've heard that.... not sure if that's true." Provide links of your saved favorites that relate. I've seen too many posts go uncommented on. Guilty as charged.
- Release a recipe: Front page recipes need notes. Monthly recipes can be posted without them.
- Clone Requests: Please add a description as many long time mixers are also long time no vape commercial so add a description. Be prepared for a 'place to start' and then try it on your own. Clone requests go Here.
- Say Thank You. :) (Example, Thank YOU for reading and keeping this place awesome, community)
keep not smoking (Soap Box dismounted),

PS Sweetener is used in a looooooot of commercial juices. consider Cap Super Sweet to help ease you into making juices but also wean yourself off it. It isnt needed most times, but you do gotta get used to it (or the lack of it). Your lungs and coils will thank you.

PSS oh and all your answers for beginners can be found Here. Join the Discord for (virtually) instant answers, especially for flavor opinions, check my order and recipe help.
To echo this sentiment, a lot of the new people are new because their state just passed (or is considering passing) legislation that hit them really hard.
I’m still new here and all of my questions have been answered with more helpfulness than I could have hoped for. All of you, and the folks on the discord have been really great!
I joined this sub because I've always had an interest in making my own juice, then with all the bullshit I knew I should start doing research just in case the worse happens. I have so many questions but so far almost all of them (with the exception of a few small details) have been answered in the pined posts or from others who already asked the question. As a courtesy I've refrained from posting untill I feel like I've read all the information I can get my hands on but I'm so grateful to have this sub 🙏
Yes, I second the sentiment. Thanks to you all for being patient and knowledgeable and agreeable for all of us newbies. I joined this thread about two months ago maybe, just ahead of all the latest news. I hadn't even begun the contemplation of mixing at that point. But my ingredients HAVE arrived and now I'm searching for the simple recipes to begin. I'm looking at my first order of flavors and realizing I already need more 'stuff'. So I've joined the fun. LOL. Again, really a heartfelt thanks to all in advance. I will try to also be a part of the community as I begin my journey. I think we all are really going to need each other in the coming weeks, months years..Lifetimes and whatnot. Trying to keep it calm over here!
I actually joined a couple months ago because for the past few years I've been thinking of making my own juice. Now I don't have a choice, but I really should have started diy a long time ago, it looks a lot cheaper and I like having control. Thankfully I have lab stuff already because I diy cosmetic formulas.

I started vaping in 2012 and a few years ago I noticed the ejuice was sweeter and irritating my mouth. I tried to go back to a brand that didn't bother my mouth but I had gotten too used to the sweetness and just couldn't taste much with my old go to ejuice.
Diy definitely has a learning curve but it’s not too bad if you can get in on a few recipes off the bat that work for you. Then you get the hang of a few flavors, simple mixes, and work your way up to making more complex ones.
I’d switched to unsweetened juices only successfully and then decided I’d try some gsv stuff. Sweet beyond belief, it’s amazing how quickly you get used to it! It took me a while to go back but luckily I was already half diy at that time and the money was just the biggest incentive to get over myself and get used to no sweetener again by vaping my own mixes. Also luckily I’ve never liked the taste of sucralose or the idea of it.
Glad you’re here and hope you get your feet firmly planted, take root, and never look back!
