I’ve read through the side bar which helped me get all of the required items to start diy’ing. However the part that’s really overwhelming me is the flavor part, there’s just so many options! I’m really pretty basic, and like fruit flavors. Strawberry, banana, pineapple, etc. my fiancé who I’ll also eventually be making for really only vapes lemon lime, basically a sprite flavor. I’ve looked at a couple of places and there’s just multiple of each kind of flavor and then when I look at basic flavor’s say strawberry, it’s not just strawberry it’ll have multiple flavors with it. I guess I’m just looking for suggestions, or direction on where to find out good recipes for what I would like.
Recipes here in the sub and on All The Flavors.
CAP Lemon-Lime is a great flavor. I also highly recommend VT Fizzy Shebert.
Strawberry will depend on what Strawberry you want
Don't stress :). You can check out the many Flavor of the Week's in the side bar. Then, before ordering a flavor, look it up in the Flavor Reviews.
I recommend VT Banana Custard, JF Sweet Strawberry, INW Shisha Strawberry, INW Raspberry, VT Sugarloaf Pineapple, SC Pineapple, VT Persian Lime, FA Lime Cold Pressed, CAP Lemon Lime, FA Forest Fruit (Mix), TFA Blackberry, FW Blackberry, VT Blood Plum, FA Blackcurrant, FLV Boysenberry, CAP Blueberry Jam, FW Blueberry, TFA Marshmallow, WS-23, CAP Super Sweet, TFA Papaya, FE Mango, FE Lemon.
You could live for centuries off these fellas. Obviously there's plenty of great concentrates I've left out, but these are a great base to work from.
any forest fruit ideas? have you paired it with flv cream ?
FA Forest Fruit goes with almost every profile (lemonades/milks/creams/custards) - but especially other berries. I used to use it quite high around 3-4% but now I use it mostly around 1% and let the other berry concentrates come forward, and have the FA Forest Fruit taking a background role. Ideas? It goes with FW/TFA Blackberry, FW/HS/CAP Blueberry (Jam), FLV Boysenberry, INW Raspberry, INW Shisha Strawberry, JF Sweet Strawberry... the list goes on and on and on. I haven't tried it with a lot of tropical fruits like mango banana etc, also haven't tried it with Orange.
one's i've liked:
ff at 3%: Backwoods Berry by u/Edible_Malfunction (or try his Backwoods Lemonade)
ff at 6%: Unicorn Vapers revenge
or try this one ( i havent yet) ff at 2%: Berry Creamy by u/CheebaSteeba I never have but looks like it can do no wrong with ff and flv cream.
Hey I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say I'm in exactly the same spot right now! I did some searches in the subreddit for stuff like "sprite," "fizz fruit," "lemon lime," "soda," "lemonade." This turned up a few interesting recipes to try like 1-2-3 cranberry sprite by /u/ID10-T, and Lemon Lime Soda by meanrockSD. I made a little text file with like 10 recipes, and narrowed down the flavors somewhat by looking for the most commonly used flavors between the recipes.
I'll probably try to find some more recipes before I actually make an order. I tried comparing those flavors to the "my first order" flavors and got pretty overwhelmed, because most of them weren't on there. I feel like I did something wrong, and I must have chosen the wrong flavors. Also, If you look at that page you can do searches for the specific recommended flavors and find recipes for them. But I don't know if I actually picked the wrong flavors, or if I just tend to like certain flavors that aren't as popular (I don't like desserts and creamy stuff).
Agree - I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the First Order Flavors list. If I ever had to restock my whole supply most of those wouldn't be on my list. I'm all about fruits now, fruits and drinks. All my dessert/custard/pie/biscuit sections have recently been demoted to separate boxes to give the burgeoning fruit collection front centre and pride of place in my ultra manly nail polish racks.
I don't mind deserts, but baked goods have never been in my profile. So basically all sorts of chocolate things are fine, but no pastries or cakes or whatnot. Dessert tobaccos are more my thing, I guess. But mostly fruit and booze are the core profile. Lemonade variants are so easy (take basic lemonade recipe, add a friot flavor (or floral) and call it a day). But so many recipes are either baked goods, or add the wrong fruits to creams...it can be a challenge finding existing recipes that appeal sometimes. IfATF could get tags working correctly.. And implemented exclusionary searching...
Pick a handfull of highly rated recipes that combined, highlight many of your favorite fruit flavors. Then make your 1st purchase for those recepies, mix those, refine for your personal preferences, mix again & repeat. Don't be surprised if your palette broadens and you start looking into other classifications of flavors. Enjoy

That should give you an idea but what you ultimately pick is entirely up to you ♡
One shots may be worth looking at too.
I just started DIY again, and I'm mainly a Watermelon, Honeydew, Strawberry guy trying out different flavors too, there are a million, and everyone has their favorites, and it can get expensive ordering 10/15ml individual flavors just to test them out. I ordered a bunch (too many) and found a couple I like that I can suggest :
FlavorArt Red Summer Watermelon (2-5% in recipes)
FlavorArt Red Touch Strawberry (2 - 5% in recipes)
The Flavor Apprentice [aka TFA/TPA] Honeydew II (5-8% in recipes)
I also found that FlavorWest Hard Candy (5-8% in recipes) gives a nice sweet base if that's your thing
And that WS-23 is my goto menthol like "lifter" and give a brightness and a mintiness to my mixes that neither menthol nor mint did
Again, if you don't have any friends nearby that DIY whose flavors you can test, it'll take some trial and error and expense to get the flavors you like. Best of luck.
Ws23 imo is the best cooling agent for any fruit mix. 2 drops in a 50ml bottle brings out a refreshing layer in the fruits, or if ice cold is your thing add a few more. I found koolada had a very noticable chemical taste to it, but ws23 is really clean
Take a deep breath.... OK. Coming from someone who spent quite a bit on flavors initially, which I hardly ever touch...just think of it as a really hot bath. You don't want to jump right in, just ease in. Pick some recipes, or get a few recipe packs from Bull City, and just start there. Generally, if you like strawberry and pineapple, you'll use those flavors more at first. Note the at first, because I used to vape entirely different profiles than I do now that I make my own. There are some really off the wall kind of recipes out there, a lot of them are really good, but start simple and try not to feel overwhelmed.
