Question from a first time DIYer
submitted about 6 years ago by EvasiveJoker425

I’ve purchased everything I need to start making my own juice, but since I’m new I need this question answered.

Are flavor concentrates normally PG or VG based, and if so, is it usually clearly marked?

For example, a recipe I’m looking at calls for INW Cactus, however, I don’t see any mention of PG or VG on this concentrate. I’ve also noticed that a lot of ejuice calculators ask for the base of the flavor to give the proper calculation, and allows me to select “PG VG or Other”.

Can someone clarify this for me, please?

Most are PG. Assume PG unless stated otherwise

Would that include if it doesn’t state either?

Correct. Assume PG unless stated otherwise. No mention = PG base

INW flavors are PG

Also the viscosity of the liquid is very telling. If its watery its most likely PG. If its thick its VG, as a rule of thumb.

I didn’t even think of that. Good tip!
