What RDAs do you test your juices on?
submitted about 6 years ago by Rotor_Tiller

What RDAd are all of y'all testing your mixes on currently? I'm trying to get a good feel of what everyone uses. I myself use a Mjolnir or Drop depending on the day

Edit: I can't believe this got this many comments. You guys rock

+1 love the recurve, feel the Hadaly/Entheon miss higher/airy notes, or it's just me!

Usually a Hadaly/Hadeon/KRMA I pop off a squonk for dripping testing, and either a 22mm Petri clone or Skyline with a drop kit if I want to know the tank taste (some recipes are just made for tanks haha)

Drop dead. It seems to give a fairly good idea of how the juice will taste across all my other devices.

Derringer for mtl testing, otherwise Loop.

dotRda single coil 22mm

by hiphopanonymooseabout 6 years ago

On this, how do you clean the coil in between tastings? Do you have to replace to cotton to remove all traces of the last flavour?

5 points

by lionhrt9about 6 years ago

With exotic wire installed you shouldn't need cotton.

2 points

by hiphopanonymooseabout 6 years ago

Interesting. Didn’t know cottonless vaping was a thing. Sounds like I need to go do some reading. Thanks.

by Mistbourneabout 6 years ago

I believe that it's only for a single hit, pretty much. The coil itself wicks enough juice without cotton for you to get a hit. You'd still need cotton for anything more, unless you want to drip each time.

That said, it makes them ideal for flavor testing.

by elviscocho30about 6 years agoSnV - No Steeping Ape

What build exactly can you do this on, this would be pretty useful since rewicking is a pain in the ass and a waste when tasting multiples liquids

2 points

by lionhrt9about 6 years ago

I use framed staples. It doesn't really matter. Approx 8 to 10 drips will stay in wire.

1 points

by Rotor_Tillerabout 6 years ago

I vape through a couple juicing myself. Rewicking takes time, plus a break In period.

2 points

by juthincabout 6 years agoI improved Grack and all I got was this lousy flair

Profile, mainly. Maybe CSMNT clone (Really need to set it up for squonking) Or I'll just go straight to a tank. But I'm usually confident about most of my mixes. I'd never chance ruining a tank coil with something I wasn't confident about.) I really should use one of my mesh RDAs for my tobacco flavors, tho... They're murder on coils...

Hadaly these days tbh.

Simple Hadaly. Staple coil, .15ohm. Not the flavor chaser build, but good reference. If it passes, should be decent in large tanks - which I use at work

Lately I’ve been using a wick’d. Really easy to rewick and set up and it’s airflow restriction suits what I prefer

I use an old Flave 24. Easy to drip into, great flavor. Kind of a pain to build but worth it imo.

Mostly the CSMNT, though I enjoy a somewhat restricted draw for my tobacco recipes. For that either the citadel or hadaly.

Wasp Nano. quick to build and quick to wick. test your flavors and discard the cotton. very airy RDA full of flavor

I usually test flavors on my Velocity V2.

by RobZilla10001about 6 years ago

I use an RTA, Griffin. It's what i'm going to be vaping it in, makes sense to test it there as well.

1 points

by Rotor_Tillerabout 6 years ago

Interesting. Do you fill the tank up completely or do you just drop onto the coil?

1 points

by RobZilla10001about 6 years ago

Between flavors or while taste testing, i rip the old wick out, clean the coils, re-wick, drip pure vg, fire, repeat 10x. Generally gets most of that new wick flavor out (I use rayon), then I saturate the coils and fill the tank half up. Vape pretty consistently for an hour or so before i start making observations. I have had juices that seemed too strong initially that I grew accustomed to and juices that I thought were fine that ended up being funky or bitter, but I had assumed that was the wick. Granted, it does take longer to get an idea that way, but 2 of my 4 vapes are Griffins (the other two are an Arctic with Clapton coils and a TFV12) so it makes sense to me to get an idea of how it's going to be on the device that I'm going to use.

I use a hadeon. 3X28/36 N80 alien. I've recently picked up a citadel but I still feel the hadeon is better with the same coil. How are you guys building your citadel? Most people seem to like it a lot but so far I find it lack luster to my hadeon.
