Looking for a honey and no experience with honey flavors!
submitted about 6 years ago by snrbtzYellow Cake Apologist

I'm trying to mix something closer to a manufactured juice I've grown extremely fond of and the only ingredient I don't have is honey! Does anything have recommendations I would really appreciate it as I have 0 experience with your concentrates. If it matters, the key notes are graham cracker, milk, and honey and this is something I am dead set on recreating and then possibly altering with a hint of something like strawberry (that's what my mind went to first, I think it would be amazing for my palette!). If there is a gem honey concentrate out there that would round this out I would be extremely grateful if somebody could point me in the direction of it!

On a side note, of course most companies don't seem to have reasonable sample packs, is there any company that would so I can go through and find flavors I didn't even know I wanted? I have a tax ID and transaction privilege certificate for the industry if that helps and I would love to be able to get like 5-10ml samples even, just to see what I want to purchase as I make substantial purchases when picking up flavors. So any info on this would be quite helpful, too, and I would forever be in your debt and mix you whatever you want :D

Thanks in advance fellow mixers, you guys have been an amazing source of help and tops since I first started mixing and there's no way I would have grown so much in such a small amount of time without you guys! My thanks are never ending to you all. Looking forward to your replies!

The best place to start is probably with Flavor of the Week. There have actually been two for honey:

Honey

Honey II

And then individual flavor reviews (when they exist):

There aren't many for that flavor because most attempts at honey leave a lot to be desired. But you might find some info in there that can help you fit it into a mix.

Good luck :)

Don’t buy TFA honey. You’re welcome

Ha! My husband calls anything with TFA Honey "stank ass ferret juice". 😂😂😂 You can smell that crap a mile away!

(No, I do not use it in our juices, but once you've smelled it once, you know what it is forever.)

If you after a graham, honey & milk vape. I would pick up FLV Milk & Honey & FA Honey. Although it doesn’t really have a honey note it does have a great cream and sweetness that would pair well with FA Honey. Just start low with FA Honey or use it in a dilution.

Couldn’t agree any more. FA sweet cream, butterscotch ripple, and TFA peanut butters are also amazing additions to this flavor profile.

The search is your best friend, friend.

Continue along with the flavor reviews. You're probably looking at FA Honey. FA. FA. FA. Thats Flavourart. Not TFA/TPA. Do not. I repeat. Do not order TFA.

And be aware that FA Honey is quite strong! Please don't put in 4% and wonder why you can smell yellow.

Yeah I'm on a similar quest and it looks like FA Honey is the answer. I also got FLV Honeybee, VT Honeycomb and VT Golden Syrup (not really honey per se) to sample and see what can be done with them, but all the advice I've gotten so far has been FA Honey if you want just standard honey.

Inawera Dark Fire tastes like a nice honey and not at all what it's supposed to be. Capella Honey is ok. I prefer the dark fire taste personally.
