I'm new to mixing and have been trying to get a good lemonade base down but in the past 2 weeks of trying I have had no success. I have tried with different percentages of LA Lemonade mixed with FA Lemon Sicily and the flavor seems muted or isn't quite strong enough.
One of or own - u/humanpuck created this lemonade trinity:
4% LA Lemonade
2 % FLV Lemonade
0.75% FA Lemon Sicily
That works great as a base.
I made what I think is a good lemonade base as a Christmas present for this sub.
I have updated it to add 1.5% VT sherbet, so now the base recipe is:
2.5% (FW) Lemonade
or
2.5% (FW) Lemonade (pink)
1.5% (VT) Fizzy Sherbet
0.5% (TPA) Koolada
0.5% (TPA) Sour
0.3% (CAP) Super Sweet
Works great with fruit mixes.
Apart from the ones already mentioned, /u/Kindground has one that I'm very eager to try myself, it looks amazing.
5% LA Lemonade
.5% INW Lemon Mix
.2% INW cactus
Should be what you're looking for. Steep overnight.
I've been happy with FA Lemon Sicily at 1-2% in something like the above where you (and others) have INW Lemon Mix. Just asking here, thoughts?
FA lemon sicily is like writing your dissertation in disappearing ink. INW Lemon Mix sticks around, but is a similar zesty lemon. (Both of them, as well as a handful of other lemons, give a lemon pledge vibe if you use too much, but usually a 24-48hour steep will cure that.)
I base all my lemonade recipes off of backwoods lemonade with the forest fruit removed. Not that I'm an expert, but it works.
Pretty much all of my recipes are adapted from existing ones
