I recently made a bottle of Boss Reserve Clone. Upon shaking it up it smelled like bread and bananas, as expected. After a 5 or so day steep the juice completely lost all smell and flavor. A single hit completely destroyed my throat and lungs with its sheer harshness.
Any idea what could have happened here?
I've had a bottle of Folkart's Boss Reserve Clone steeping for 6 months now, still very tasty. I am however not very sensitive to harsh throat hits, but I don't see any ingredients that could cause it really. I'd suspect the nicotine or gear.
>steeping for 6 months now
That's dedication, man
Could be the nicotine you used went bad, but probably not in 5 days.
My other thought is the 1% AP seems like a lot. That stuff can be pretty harsh.
I mixed a few other bottles with that same 30 ml bottle of nicotine and they all turned out fine. Perhaps my acetyl pyrazine isn't 5% like theirs and is more concentrated?
I tell people not every juice needs steeping or gets better with steeping. In my experience many become worse with steeping. Always get attacked and downvoted. I mostly use one shots, I've never tasted a juice that I hated or didn't like right after mixing, that became better after a long steep.
But I've had PLENTY of juices turn into absolute shit after a long steep.
E.g loaded has started making one shots. Generally normal fan of their flavor but I saw tm"loaded lemon bar" and was intrigued. So I buy it and mix the whole batch (30% 150ml, 70vg @3mg)
When I first tried it it tasted fucking fantastic. Strong lemon taste with a slight pastry background, nice and sweet as I liked it although it was obviously a coil gunker.
A week passed and I tried it again only to notice to my disappointment that the lemon flavorless nearly completely gone. A few weeks later lemon was completely gone and it tasted like a shitty stale pastry/cookie with a weird note to JT.
I taste test everything the moment I mix it. Never understood people that don't try to taste their mixes right after mixing. Just wick a taste testing RDA, a wasp or citadel and try a few puffs. It's not that hard..
Recently got some DIY or DIE watermalone and divine fantastic Lemonade. And I'm in love. They might even replace my current ADV. I've been vaping them since the day I've mixed them and they taste great. My only big worry is that their taste won't be as good after a week or two. Also.the watermalone is slightly harsh. Not sure if thsts the flavoring or the new nicotine I'm using. Although the new nicotine is fresh and looks completely clear its harsher than what I'm used to despite having mixed it at 2mg
Lemon flavors tend to vanish over time. Other citrus too, tho not to the same degree. However, certain flavors need time. Certain florals will be like vaping potpourri off the shake, but turn candyish after a week or two. Vomit flavored flavors (stuff with BA in place of DAAP) need months for the puke to fade to tolerable levels. Some tobaccos need time too. Just because you haven't mixed something that needed time doesn't mean no juice needs time.
I wasn't saying no juice needs time. Obviously there are plenty of flavors that need time. But just saying not every flavor. Esp many candy flavors don't really need to steep or at least dont need that long.
And honestly juices thst tasted floral or disgusting to me never started tasting better over a while.
There is this other flavor that I absolutely loved when I first started vaping. Prism by psycho bunny. At first it tasted like those haribo shark candies. It was incredibly delicious only did completely ruin my coils.. A month or two passed and suddenly it started tasting very floral instead.
I guess the fact that I'm not a big pastry or tobacco fan makes a big difference in the steeping thing I am not a fan of any pastry flavors, hate tobacco's and prefer candy, drinks, sweet stuff, icecream without the "ice" (hate menthol and koolada). So most things I vape dont need to steep
So far the only pastry flavor I've liked is dinner lady lemon tart, that's mostly because it's literally the best and strongest lemon flavor I've ever tried and the pastry is very much on the background.. it it's a premium juice that I dont want to spend a fortune on
Not sure, but I used to vape it. It was nice for a while but got old really quick for me. It's my curse. I cant vape a lot of recipes for more than a couple of months. I have to constantly try new things.
And here I am vaping the same ADV for the last 4 years. Ironically my very first DIY recipe is the only recipe I can vape and other flavours I can barely make it through a tank before I want to switch back to my ADV.
Humans are weird.
My curse is that I cant ever fond any flavors I like. Stuck with the same ADV for a year now. But very recently I suddenly discovered two one shots that I'm absolutely in love with
DIY or DIE - watermalone (tastes like a watermelon soft icecream) Divine - fantastic lemonade (tastesnlike those freeze lollies that are in the long plastic sleeves, the ones you freeze yourself, specifically the yellow one.. I fucking loved those things as a kid and still love them)
Admittedly not as cheap as moving yourself but still a lot cheaper than buying juice. Watermalone mixes at 10% and is 20 gbp for 100ml or something (so makes an entire liter
Did you enjoy the purple flavored freezies too? if so...
I've had the exact same thing happen with the TFA Banana Cream. Try without that flavor.
Clone juices? We've come to that now? Might as well go diy.
The clone is diy. The same with any other recipe clone. You don't go buy a clone of a restaurant chili. You get the clone recipe and make it yourself. It's the same with juice.
