Recipe Help / Crunch Berries
submitted about 6 years ago by xenagos113

This is my first attempt at making a cereal. I usually stick to simple fruits / candies that I can shake and vape, and after getting back into DIY I wanted to challenge myself a little. While this recipe isn't that complex, I'm looking for feedback or additions to make the flavor pop.

Admiral Loops V1 - This is the first recipe that I made. It tasted great after only a 3 day steep, and I've been vaping it constantly. I subbed in the lemonade for lemon in a recipe on ELR. I got my roommate into vaping and he likes lemonade flavors so I had a lot to work with. The problem I had with it was that depending on the mod I'm using with my dead rabbit in TC-SS mode on a .2 ohm twisted coil, the lemonade seems to dwarf the other flavors.

Admiral Loops V2 - This is the mix I made after the first one to kind of narrow down the flavors. Check out the notes under the recipe. I'm nervous to add lemon as I don't think it will correct the problem.

I am also considering getting a small supply of PG to take my mixes from 85/15 and 80/20 to 70/30 or 75/25 to hopefully bring more flavor into it.

Any help is appreciated!

Here's what I use:

Meringue (FA) 1.8%
Fruit Circles (CAP SIL) 2.0%
Fruit Circles (TFA) 2.5%
Vanilla Swirl (TFA) 2.0%
Bavarian Cream (TFA) 1.5%

To be clear, I am not overly sensitive to the lemony pledge side of TFA's fruit circles. I like it day one, but I do find it calms down even further after about a week.

I know you're trying to create a crunch berries flavor, but I'll give a simple suggestion if youd like..

TFA Berry Cereal tastes so much like authentic crunch berries. I made a batch plain and with a mix of milk/dairy.

Ok, you want to do a cereal, I take it. Possibly fruit loops?

Flavors you're gonna want:

CAP Cereal 27 (this is supposedly the 'cheat code' for cereal)

FA Bergamot (it's a orange-ish flavor, used in actual fruit loops)

INW Lemon Mix (it's a long-lived lemon flavor, very potent, just like Bergamot is)

There's probably another you're gonna want, but those three should be the core of your recipe. It's not something I've ever really felt a need to experiment in, tho, so that's about the limits if what help I can be. There are a lot of recipes out there you can find, tho. Just look for ones made in the last two years or so, unless you're making this for a pod system.

Can you tell me what color this concentrate is please? I'm looking for a fruity cereal flavor that's red-ish in color. I use to get a juice from a shop and haven't been able to match the flavor in two years of collecting flavors. They called it "Silly Rabbit" but it didn't use TFAs flavor with the same name.

My capn crunch, most people that have tried it seem to like it.

3% Tfa Berry crunch

3% Cap Sweet cream

2% Cap Sweet Strawberry

1.5% Cap fresh cream

.5% Cap Bavarian creme

.5% Cap super Sweet

Edit: Sorry for the original garbage formatting

This actually sounds really good and I picked up the CAP sweet strawberry for a shake vape with ripe banana from TFA and it was ok. The banana made it a bit harsh but again, needs some creaminess to smooth it out.

The sweet strawberry really helps with the berry part of the flavor I think.

It's not a spot on capn crunch by any means, but I've been happy with it for the last couple years.

CAP SL Fruit Circles will get you 80% there. Weak flavor though. Would start around 8%. Gonna need to bolster the grain aspect. Not really looking to add flavor per se. Just that illusion in the mouthfeel. Then add your favorite millstone. Or do something like a marshmallow treat.

Can I make this with TPA's Fruit Circles and Dairy Milk?

Sorry about the late response. I think you could, just subbing what I have in the recipe above or just those two ingredients? I'm not sure how strong the flavoring is with dairy milk so make a small batch, 15 ml or so to start. It'll probably need a couple of days to steep.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Looks like I just have too simple of a recipe, but will be able to round it out by picking up a few more flavors. I'll update next weekend when I can mix something up.

I would really recommend using your berry crunch & ditching the fruit circles with milk for something as simple as tpa dairy milk. Regular fruit circles I don't find bad, but the with milk is almost a little too one-shottish. Also those %s seem a bit high with the v2 recipe.

You may get better results with the fruit circles with milk alone, make sure to let it steep a good week to let that dairy settle down. If needed you can always add some of your lemonade flavor if you feel it needs that boost.

As others have stated cereal 27 is a must have if you like cereal called. Great to add some extra crunch.
