Hi guys, I guess this is a two fold post. Firstly, I'm unfortunately experiencing dissatisfaction with all my juice at the moment. Suddenly, everything is too sweet and feels kinda cloying. I'm not sure what changed, but either way I can't stand anything I've made before.
For a little background, I've been into fruit mixes (I've been mixing for around 5 years), and more recently desserts. In there I've also used a fair bit of non actual tobacco, but tobacco catagory concentrates - eg FA hypnotic myst.
Essentially, after much searching this sub for inspiration, I've decided to go to tobaccos, and I'll be placing an order for the flavours later today. I will be avoiding the sweet options and I think beginning with dirty cigarette type (as in non dessert, no fruit added, no caramel) to begin with (recipe suggestions appreciated).
But the second point is that I'm also wondering what other flavours are going to be less sweet? Should I be looking towards tea, floral, something woody (would this be too dry without any sweetness?) ? What else? I found the search function for the sub difficult to use on this, as it's not great to begin with.
Currently going unflavoured &/or maybe plain mild menthol for a couple of days to clear the palate, but I'm not enjoying it. Guess it'll have to do until I get something mixed, so a week or so by the time I get my order
Here ya go.. First off the recipe you want most is brigade.
Flavors you want:
FLV red burley
FLV native
FLV Tatanka
FLV oriental
Flv Virginia
FLV Connecticut Shade
INW Black/Gold/Dark for Pipe
INW DNB
INW tobacco symphony
INW Falcon Eye
HS Elder Captain
FA Black Fire
TFA Western
For other flavors... Check atf for recipes from /u/chemicalburnvictim amd whatever isnt on the list I already gave ya, get that, mostly.
Other flavors to keep inmind:
Spices (cinnamon, ginger, clove, basil, etc)
Florals (horehound, hops, etc)
Woods (wood spice, oakwood, etc)
Thank you very much. I'm placing an order directly with INW because I just can't get the range from here (Australia). Can't get a search result for falcon eye though, you sure it's INW?
Also brigade was the recipe I'd been eyeing off for a decent starter, just need something to get me going. I'm excited for this journey. I'd forgotten about spices, so nice call on this too. I have a couple already, be adding to this today.
Much appreciate your input
Mate one shop in Aus has it: https://www.thevapestore.com.au/products/inw-falcon-eye-tobacco-concentrate#gref
Thanks, yes you can actually get most here. I should be been more specific and said that I couldn't get all the inw tobaccos I wanted in one place - which is why I went direct - I ended up buying 10 tobaccos. Now that I have the collection I might be able to get refills closer to home. The falcon eye is discontinued I guess because inw didn't have it directly, so I figured that I didn't want get to like it then have it taken away and didn't follow it up.
Dude, just wanted to say thanks again. I received my orders today, and with the FLV tobaccos listed as the only ones that are good shake n vape, mixed up a couple of single flavours and other very simple things to get me started while everything is steeping. I'm super excited about this, and so happy with it already. I've been missing out!
If you have a lot of sweet fruits, you could probably try adding a few citruses/beverages to your arsenal. It works really well with pretty much any sweet fruit mix in my experience.
A few examples:
FLV Citrus Soda, VT Fizzy Sherbet, CAP Lemon Lime, LA/FLV/VT Lemonade
FE Lemon, INW Lemon Mix, VT Sour Lemon, FA Lemon Sicily
VT Shisha Lime, VT Persian Lime, FA Lime Cold Pressed, MB Green Lime
Also I've found out recently that florals can add a very interesting touch on both citruses and other fruits, such as TFA Honeysuckle, CAP Hibiscus, FA Lavender, FLV Elderflower.
Haven't had a lot luck with cold drinks only because I find the ones I like are acidic in nature and after a while said acidity gets to my stomach. There's a few I like, but can only vape them for a few hours. I'll be looking into those florals for sure though, but I think after a break from anything resembling sweetness with some dirty tobacco recipes
FAQ Friday Intro to tobaccos give that a look-see.
Have you tried tempering sweet mixes with savoury flavours? Some of the best juices I've tried do this but it's not always obvious what the savoury concentrate used in it is.
