Need help with FA passion fruit. I don't get any flavor
submitted about 6 years ago by jcabia

I want to do a liquid that tastes only tastes like passion fruit so I got the FA one since I saw it's one of the most used but I have tried mixing it at different percentages and it doesn't taste like passion fruit. Anyone has experience with this flavor? Which percentage should I use and what could I add that can make the passion fruit pop out?

Notes on 15 passionfruits by u/ID10-T buried in a recent Single-Flavor Discussion thread. Super handy

There was another more recent one as well. I don't think the landscape has changed much for the flavor tho...

Hi, I use FA passion fruit and have to say it's a very aggressive flavor, used as standalone on 5% with 70/30 base, the flavor is very accurate and strong, in fact to strong for my taste... So I'd tried again but this time 4% flavor, 70/30 base and 2% citric acid solution (citric acid solution concentration 10%), and I got it, just what I looked for.

I'll try it at 5%. How long do you let it steep?

I use ultrasonic, but 5 days normal steep is good enough With the CA

I'm sorry but what do you mean by CA?

That makes no sense at all. Every brand is suggested to mix at different percentages. It's not the same to use a tpa strawberry ripe at 12% than to use something like fa passion fruit at 12%, in fact I don't think there's a single FA, INW or FLV flavoring that should be used at 12%, maybe some fw or tpa can get away with it but still every flavoring is different
