'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of July 1, 2019
submitted about 6 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the June Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping! We keep an archive of all the past threads in our wiki as well

Happy Vaping!

Im back in the game, summer full swing. Aside from some very sad pod mixes not even worth disparaging, I have some Tootsee Roll by u/ID10-T left that I fucking love. If you liked Amity or Amalfi and are missing them, this to me is right in that arena. Sugar cookie magic. Even strawberries which never excite me are lovely here and NOT the star either. Fantastic vape.

Also, Don't Call Me Shirley by u/HumanPuck. Another one up my alley. Boozy ginger goodness. Nice warmth. Really solid and perfect for summer lovin.

Edit: completely forgot to add irish coffee by u/Foment_Life. mostly because it was so good i ended up giving away almost the whole 30ml I mixed up to frank the barber and my barrista. I only got to sample about 10(ish)ml myself. Do give it a full 2 week steep. (For me, the waffle was pronounced until the 14 days was up and after that becomes 'body' as fo explained to me.) It's very good. Tastes like irish cream with a hint of bourbon, coffee and vanilla. All sits back very nicely and lets the cream do it's thing. Next go 'round, I think I'll add some vt/flv bourbon so a small sample for more warmth and bite, as this is all flavor.

I was thinking about making that Tootsee Roll, I'm not normally a strawberry vape kind of guy but I think I'll give it a shot!

I can't imagine you'd regret it. in fact, i'd bet money on you wouldn't.

Worth it.

Shirley looks interesting. Will include flavours in my next order, cheers! Got too many bottles of FA Black Cherry laying around (don't ask). Guess that wouldn't work as a sub for any of the other cherries in there?

That's Puck's recipe and I happen to like booze and ginger. I don't get so much ginger ale as just a really delicious warm boozy ginger drink with a cherry on top and a wee bit o' bite. I do hope you like it.

I do love booze :) The bourbon catched my eye - love me a Jack on the rocks or a Lemmy when coming to drinks. Definitely gonna try this one after working through my current batches.

Really glad you enjoy the Irish coffee! Gotta finish working on the bourbon chocolate shake soon.

I'm tickled by how much you enjoy that old Tootsee Roll recipe. Do you think it was successful in turning that Sugar Cookie into a sponge cake?

Also, I've seen a lot of talk about Amalfi and people trying to make clones or homages to it, but what is/was Amity?

2 points

by urs1neabout 6 years ago

What is this Amalfi you speak of?

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 6 years agoThe Kingmaker

It's a juice I've never tried before but here's one of the many posts/comments there've been on this sub over the years: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/5qy0go/my_attempt_at_amalfi_from_bigglesworth_labs/

I am actually really blown away by what you did with sugar cookie there. It’s really neat how it just becomes something else entirely. Total success.

Amity is amalfi supposedly “stripped down and built back up” with less dense cake and lemon.

Neither of which I enjoyed until magnum styled dong told me to try them mtl where they were amazing. I know I have some weird tastes sometimes and I’m still learning what I like but tootsee delivers. Simple/not fancy, totally satisfying, cake strawberry caramel.

u/ID10-T you need to try Don't Call Me Shirley. You helped to inspire it.

I already put it on the list, but I have to pick up that MB Red Cherry first

I'm running pretty low on flavoring which has less to some creative choices with my recipes. Right now I'm vaping on my adaptation of blue balls as it's one of the few things I still have everything to make 8% tfa juicy peach 2.5% tfa blueberry wild 2.8% tfa strawberry Mixed at 40/60 pg/Vg

by PinheadXabout 6 years agoMixes By Weight

Mixed up a simple cap sweet strawberry and cap vanilla cupcake with a little bit of tfa sweet cream and it’s a really nice strawberry shortcake kinda flavor.

About to order some new flavorings because I’m out of damn near everything. Any suggestions?

by ID10-Tabout 6 years agoThe Kingmaker

Hate to make suggestions for flavors to buy without any guidance as to what you might enjoy. But if you have a profile in mind or even a general type of profile, I'd be happy to try to recommend something for that.

I like cereal and bakery dessert flavors mostly, some tobacco flavors (DK 555 most, RY4 least), and fruit flavors - especially berries and dark cherry. I’m finding that I don’t like dragonfruit anymore. Or at least, I don’t like TFA dragonfruit.

I know I’m gonna buy a large bottle or two of Capella Sweet Strawberry, TFA Berry Crunch and DK 555, and Flavour Art Black Cherry. I need some flavors to work with those to make bakery or creamy flavors, and similar flavors that I can play around with.

Here's a recipe with FA Black Cherry that I loved, maybe you'd like to get the ingredients you need to give it a try: Basil Fawlty's

And here's a recipe I made for people who like cherry: Hello Daddy Hello Mom

And here are some things you could look at for ideas for flavors to accompany your CAP Sweet Strawberry:

Strawberry Cookie

Lenola Cream Remix

Yes, We Strawberry Cheesecake

Strawberry Shorty

Golden Arches Shake by /u/shyndo

I love it, and am so glad I picked up that CAP Double Chocolate V2 to make it. It is exactly what he says it is, a fast food chocolate shake. The only reason I haven't left it a five-star review yet is that Shyndo personally told me it will not gunk my coils, I think that was a lie, and I'm waiting until I get further in than 20 mls or so find out whether I get to call him out.

This recipe really makes me look forward to trying /u/folkart2000 's Mayan Milk

by St1llFrankabout 6 years agoThis flavor... This is not my kind of flavor

I've been vaping a lot of JF Honey Peach + WF Papaya. Usually at 1.5% (peach) & .75% (papaya). I love they way these two flavors dance. I've tried a bunch of different flavors along with them. .25% INW Cactus has been good but I'm looking for something to really accent these two. I've tried lemon, lime, pineapple, strawberry, tangerine, some have been good. I need to think differently though and try something new.

Mint? coolant? bourbon? Gin? Blood orange champagne? Liquid amber? Brown sugar? Ry4x2? Cinnamon Ceylon? Jelly candy? Hard candy? Black tea? Lemonade? Cap lemon lime/fizzy sherb? Pink guava 1%? Mango?

Ideas.

Take your 1.5% Honey Peach and 0.75% Papaya combo and use it to replace the 0.75% TFA Papaya in this: Big Papa's Macaroon. Boom, Honey Peach/Papaya Macaron with Honey Cream filling.

A peaches-n-cream, RY4 Double and back to the ol' standby of TFA Western with FW Butter Pecan to smooth it out. Think I'll drop the percentage on the Western next time.

3 points

by isuamadogabout 6 years agoRenaissance Mixer

western gets a bad rap. I like it. I'll hit it high up to 3 solo or with menthol, or low at 0.25 like in silk road. I dont have that FW BP, but i'd try something similar. Thanks for sharing!

Not me but a mix I made for my wife it’s a clone of

Clown — Pennywise

Strawberry Ripe - TFA @ 5% Watermelon - RF @ 5% Peach Juicy - RF @ 3% Sweetener - cap @ 0.5%

70vg/30pg 6mg

I substituted TFA Juicy peach with RF Peach. I do think the mix would have been better with juicy peach. RF flavors tend to be spot on but don’t hold up well to Sub-ohm vaping in my experience however they’re great for MTL DIY juice.

Vapes like sweet watermelon and strawberries followed by a hint of peach

Can be SnV but is better if it sits 2-3 days. Smells like strawberry watermelon bubble gum

I just started on my first batch of Grackjuice and I absolutly love it! As a new DIY'er I am mostly trying others recipes at the moment. Also vaping some "watered out" old Snake Oil that obvously contain too much flavour (thined it out with 20% more 70/30 VG/PG, but sure I can thin it out even more). I like having some sweet alternative to my fruity juices.

Other than that I also have another old recipe that I adjusted to lower flavouring %, Glass Apple. I find it refreshing, but realize I made a huge mistake mixing up lots of batches before visiting this sub and ATF.

Next up is Dragon Mothers Milk - and then - when I finally get through my way too many batches the plan is to give this Melon mix a go :)

Still learning as I go. I obviously made too many batches of old recipes before I found you people. Learning, having fun though. Thanks to everyone here being helpfull!

EDIT: I am obviously not recommending anyone to mix any of thos old recipes - just saying I have some batches of juice I refuse to throw away, and rather make the best of, instead.

Once you go GIGI you never go Grack! hahaha jk but deafo give GIGI a whirl somewheres down the road after you get over your confusion of what is happening when you vape Grack.

Hah! Thanks for heads up, I will :) Making a list with flavours to order my next shopping binge which I try to delay a bit seeing I spent waaay too much on flavours and gear lately. Will definitely include the ones I miss for this. Thanks.

Edit: Question: I have Koolada and WS23 laying around. Would Polar blast be a necessity for this one?

2 points

by juthincabout 6 years ago

You could sub koolada for the polar blast. It isn't as good, you're gonna risk getting some off-taste but other than that... I suggest always using a polar blast//WS-23 combo for cooling.

Strawberry Milkshake mixed with 5% wild strawberry ( makes it taste more like real strawberry, not like super artificial strawberry )

An older DOD recipe, Nu-Sorbet [ICED]. I found it really strong for an RDA, but it’s great in pod systems. I’m using the Pasito and Caliburn currently.

Looper - ANML clone

It was pretty expensive to get all the flavors I needed for it but wow it's spot on. Looper was the first juice I ever bought and it just brings me back.
