Does anyone know of any good souring additives for making sour candy flavors? I’ve tried several types of malic/citric acid combos, but everything seems to steep out... Any pro tips?
What I've found works is INW lemon mix pushed a bit higher than you'd normally recommend it, coupled with TFA sour.
Beyond that WF SC sour ball candy is promising
I have a full e-liquid manufacturer at my disposal so I’ll be trying out these suggestions in the next 24
I will caution that the lemon mix is gonna lend a bit of lemon flavor to whatever you do, so you kinda have to bully it into submission. It plays well with my sour blue razz recipe, but I could see it being more noticable in other recipes.
Tartaric acid at appx 0.001 to 0.01 w/v% in addition to tour current recipe. Doesnt steep out like malic and citric IMO
How badly does it slaughter coils?
Not as bad as citric, about the same as malic, but tartaric is much stronger than malic. You can get away with much smaller percentages. You can even use malic and tartaric in combination for a super sour punch at a very low percentage. Combination ingredients will also resist "steeping out" and have more robust sour flavor later in life than single sour mixes or higher percentage counterparts.
Thank u for asking!!!!
I would give FLV Sour Apple a try, works really well with melons too
What % would you recommend? I think I went too high and it was disgusting.
I personally like it at about .75-1% but here is the review from Concrete River and where he tested it out - Sour Apple Single Flavor Test
IIRC I heard some good things about (SC)(WF) Sour Ball Candy
Don't quote me on that though
I'm quoting you
