First time mixing
submitted about 6 years ago by PhantomStranger52

So once I dove into DIY myself, suddenly a lot of stuff made perfect sense. Things that other mixers have told me about weight, ratios, etc. I get it now. My first flavor was an attempt at a pineapple tea. 3.5% medicine flower pineapple with 5% nicotine river sweet tea. 3mg nic salt. Imo it tastes great. I was super stoked my first go wasn't a complete failure. So after lurking for a while, you guys have converted another. I love it. Cheers!

When I first got into DIY I made 10 flavours, let them steep and the first 9 I vaped were disgusting then I vaped the 10th and that tasted okay which gave me enough confidence to try again. Flavours got much better over time

I was afraid of that happening. So I kept the first batch small and went for a "shake and vape" . Although I did heat steep it just a bit. But it turned out great. My second flavor however... not as great.

Congratulations! You're down the rabbit hole now :)

And a bit lucky - my first attempts were not great :) but they got better fast and it's exciting when a vape comes out just the way you'd like it to. :) Good on you

Thanks! Indeed I am down the rabbit hole. I knew I got lucky but I attribute most of the luck coming from this sub. I read a LOT of posts and tried to listen to everyone before I went in guns (bottles?) blazing.

LOL - well sounds like it paid off. Keep going and remember to share your recipes (well, the good ones anyway :) )

Congrats and welcome to the club. I lurked here about 6 months before placing my first order. I just read and borrowed recipes, chose profiles I'd like, and concentrated on recipes that had flavors that overlapped to make other things. I got like 23 flavors and mixed like 9 recipes that were all good.

Keep collecting recipes and as your arsenal grows with your second order you'll have so many more options at your disposal

For sure. I've been deep in the archive for a while. There's mountains of solid information here. I got 15 flavors right now but I'm about to place another order. I'm on the chase now for a few obscure flavors I've had in the past.

It requires patience and you will fail sometimes but it’s worth persevering

First juice I made was a clone of a store bought flavour - Nicoticket's Betelgeuse. The recipe was dead nuts on to the original it was uncannily accurate. That was 4 years ago and I haven't looked back since. I make 600ml between four and five times a year which costs me £14/$20. I bought a litre of nicotine just before the ban and that will last me another decade or so.

I experimented at the beginning with different flavours but nothing else compared!
