Whats up everyone?! Hope you all are having a good start to the week thus far!
Ive been extremely busy myself without having much time to spend on mixing, but later this week I plan on experimenting with some new brands of nic salts, so i wanted to hear others input on which have been the best for you. Reason being is because Ive ordered from 5 total vendors now, and i havent been completely satisfied with a single brand. Heres what ive ventured into so far:
- LNW - their nic at first seemed to be good, but then i noticed as i trailed up in mgs (as high as 24mg, which is max for my vaping style) it became harsh whivh was unpleasant.
- Nic River - ordered salts from them twice. First batch was awesome and i loved it, but my second go was a bust. Heavily oxidized and left a really unpleasant taste in my mixes. I contacted them and they replaced it, but similar issue with that one, so there off the table for me.
- Nude nicotine - despite their bad rep, i risked it and got the smooth and signature blends. Signature was worse than LNW for harshness and made me almost wish i ordered from them instead. The smooth ive yet to try, but i will soon.
- Carolina extract - what can I say, their salts are heavenly. Everything i enjoy about a salt and what id like it to be, however..... Its in VG only. The VG is sooo frustrating to shake and i get nervous ill experience hotspots with it, so ive not used it in many high mg mixes. Works well for 3-6mgs, but going higher i just worry.
- Liquid barn - again, vg issue, but also another which i found interesting. If youve tried a Mr Salt E nic salt for a pod before, you might know this, but that type of salt has some nasty bite to it thats really off putting. I cant tell what it is, but every one of those juices has it and so do these salts. Probably the acid used in the processing, but i cant say for sure. They have also recently added a pg option for suspension, but again, not sure if id like to pull that trigger.
So theres my gos so far, and overall, aside from VG, Carolina would win my vote with LNW being behind it for second. Id like to hear what others think on your favorites and if any stand out to you, just because i havent seen many salt nic vendors other than those and i was curious if anything could top those brands myself. Thanks for everyones help/input in advance (and i hope this wasnt too lengthy)!
I have had the exact same experience, particularly with Nic River. They WERE my favorite salts but after 2 bad batches about a month and 2 months ago I am hesitant to try them again which sucks since they were my favorite. I may give it another month and try it again or maybe try ordering a different size or strength.
I haven't tried Carolina extracts salt so maybe it's time to give that a shot.
Sucks to hear you had it similar to me, and i know many others have from what ive seen around on different online forums. I even had another odd experience with them where a package i ordered didnt get to me until a month later and after i ordered it, then a week after i got it a got the same package again doubling that order without charging me twice. It was really odd, but ever since ive only ordered flavors from them if a sale was going on.
As for Carolina, I love them but the VG is just frustrating to work with haha. Other than that theyre great!
I use Liquid nicotine wholesalers but only for salts, their regular nic has a super harsh throat hit to me
I go to HiLiq for all of my nic. It's straight from the manufacturer and of top quality. Additionally, you can get high concentrations, which saves money overall. I've tried both VG and PG. They are both smooth as.
I have had great luck with Liquid Nicotine Wholesale and hit n miss with PurNic from NR. NR replaced and refunded my money but I had a lot of people that was really upset with the stuff that I made with the PurNic.
Ugh yeah Im right there with ya on the PurNic, but the first bottle i had was fantastic. All and all though, LNW wasnt bad at all, just a tad harsher when pushed high for me, but they were a top contender for my favorites! Plus shipping/buying from them was also a pleasant experience as well
So what this thread says is that NOBODY has good nicotine salt except carolina?
No, not at all. I was just stating to my tastes what I experienced, and everyones view and take will always be different, which is why i asked to hear others thoughts on different brands and what others might have gone through so maybe i could look into another vendor. To my tastes, i wasnt a fan of others but thats not saying the product isent "good" at all, its just my take.
No what im saying is. If you read the whole thread. Apparently nobody sells good salt nic. There is not 1 vendor listed as totally positive.
And as i said, these are my opinions, as I was the one who wrote the post. I was just outlining my take on them, and seeing what others have found in their own mixing experiences. No where does this say "these nicotines are not good, dont use them". And if it came off that way to you i apologize, as I was just trying to seek others inputs and experiences as i find value in listening to others in regard to things im passionate about.
I Tried LNW it tastes harsh... then i went to NR their salt tastes very bad and chemical all the way... i ordered from Wizard Labs and Nicxuim but havent tried yet.
Wizard labs i want to try, but the credit card issues others have had is a really big turn off for me. I know theres way around it ive seen through 3rd party security means, but to me if a company cant be secure on its own, i just dont think its one i could back. Nicxuim though is new for me but ill give them a look!
I recently mixed for some pods at 25mg with the VG-based nic salt from Liquid Barn and didn't have issues with hot spots. I noticed something off with a couple of things I tried and thought it was just my failed recipe attempts, especially because I also mixed someone else's recipe and didn't notice that at all. But maybe it is the nic, and some flavors are just better at covering it up than others. Now I might have to vape it unflavored and see.
Same experience as you with the Nic River stuff, but I didn't ask them to replace the bad batch, I just scratched them off my list.
I did not know Carolina Extract made nic salts now. Wow. Gonna have to give that a try.
Yeah i think i might make an unflavored mix later myself to see as well, but i can pick out that odd bite from it for sure. Before i started DIYing was when pods first were hitting the market and Mr Salt E was very popular to use and when i had some, it gave such an odd flavor that just turned me off to it completely. It wasnt until I stated mixing for myself and trying different salts which made me see that each salt had a different kick to it making each unique in their own way, but when i mixed up the LB i got that taste once again. Luckily though its only been their brand that had it for me, but im really curious whats used to extract it so i could maybe avoid that type of nic salt.
As for Carolina, its fantastic! I just hate shaking it again and again and again, but i mean its a small price to pay for some great nic. I believe their sample 120ml is the same price as their freebase as well
Have you tried vaperstek? I don't recall if they have salts, but if they do they'd be where i would go, if i was in Murica.
I ordered nicotine river salts, and it smelled heavily of chemicals, and sadness. I just threw it away.
Yeah I was there as well haha. Sucks because i mean my first orders from them werent too bad at all. I pinpoint this back to the end of December of last year (which was a month after starting to DIY) when I first saw some odd ways about them. First it was waiting on a package after a sale for about a month, then the nic, then randomly doubling an order of mine... But all and all, i like their flavor prices but nic im iffy with. I do want to try their Chemnovatic freebase down the road, but i might as well hit Vaperstek for that
Btw, i just noticed you were who posted earlier lol and I wanted to say i appreciate the input. Thats what i intended of the post and i hope i didnt come off rash. That wasnt my intention, it was rather moreso just looking for clarification in everything. Cheers
Just upgraded to an Aegis solo with the Aegis Zeus RTA dual after around 6 months of pod mods and different nic salt liquids. Long story short, I lucked into 'Solace Vapor' creamy tobacco salt nic a week ago and am surprised how it refuses to gunk up the coils or ruin the cotton after 3 days of regular use (the cotton was not burned ...at all). The secret might be running a single coil on the Zeus dual but im sure even if I ran 2 coils, the results would be similar. Its literally the first brand ive come across that doesnt ruin coils and burn the cotton in 2 days. I havent tried other flavors from them yet and have seen mixed reviews for em but for now, creamy tobacco is my go to. ...Forgot to add, I vape it at 35 Watts. Anything above is too harsh and not necessary. Decent clouds, and great flavor. The one I ordered was 50VG/ 50PG 30MG.
