CAO Moontrance E Juice [INFO REQUEST]
submitted over 6 years ago by o7onwego

Alright you incredible, knowledgeable, experienced (is this enough sucking up?), WONDERFUL vapers! I used to smoke expensive cigars and even more expensive pipe tobacco, from Navy Escudo Deluxe to some Scottish brands I can't pronounce, from cheap Honey Optimos to $60 cigars whose names I'll never know. I miss it. It's very difficult to replicate a truly good cigar or pipe tobacco, the Virginias, the Periques, etc. If anyone has any good suggestions on an unflavored cigar or pipe tobacco, as well... I've been vaping for quite a while, and to avoid getting sick of this or that flavor, I've been vaping unflavored juice. However, I've REALLY been craving a good, delicious CAO cigar, badly... Eileen's Dream, Moontrance, the Cherrybomb... But Moontrance was by far the epitome of their flavors! I've done some googling, and I honestly can't even find anyone with this same request or interest, so I figured I'd make my first post about this! If anyone has any suggestions, input, or even just wants to say how good my taste is, please, comment :) Thanks so much!

What’s the cigar taste like to you?

As far as something like The Navy Deluxe, I did an extraction of that which turned out really good. I was trying to get a really good Perique down when I was mixing a lot more, and the last recipe I did for it was:

  • FA Brandy- .5%

  • INW Dark for Pipe- .5%

  • FA Liquid Amber- .5%

  • FLV Red Burley- 1.75%

  • VT Red Dates- .5%

  • HS SE Tobacco- 2%

I don’t quite remember how well it turned out, but I remember thinking it still needed some tweaking. A good starting place would be that Brandy, Dark for Pipe, Liquid Amber, and Red Burley combo.

Thanks so much, man!! I would be willing to bet that’s very close to something I want; I was just reading your posts, as well! TBH, it’s been so long, I don’t quite remember! I’ll just have to buy one, then make a Pt. 2 on the flavors I detect.

Reading the description of it, I DO remember that it bourbon vanilla, peaches, and an almost spiced-fruit flavor were there... there’s something else as well, though. I’ll just have to puff one!

that looks great! (will get to Hangsen some time)

I tinkered with my favourite and included INW Garuda which gives a nice tobacco leaf profile:

  • INW Classic For Pipe Gold - 2%
  • INW Tobacco Absolute Cuban Cigar - 1.5%
  • INW Tobacco Absolute Garuda - 2.5%
  • INW Tobacco Dirty Neutral (dnb) - 1%

Recently mixed my favourite INW and FLV and got something my pals say is interesting:

I have some with a bold vanilla base, but you said "unflavored" ;) (BTW the VGOD line has a ton of vanilla, and I like it some)

I'm not much of a cigar aficionado, and this may be more fruity than what you're going for, but here is an outstanding recipe if you're looking for a good cigar e juice:

If nothing else, the flavor notes on the various tobaccos should hopefully give you some good ideas.

Have you tried the VGod Cubano line?

I haven't! I'll have to see if there's a good clone.

SC tobaccos are where it’s at. At least for the Cubano line. I import mine from the US to make my Cubano remixes. SC Cohiba is like a good, generic cigar mixed at 3-4%. SC Cigar and SC Black Mile are also worth picking up to add more depth and realism.

Kinnikinnick on ELR is also a good one to speak with. I think he does extractions as well.

So, just a first venture into this, and to see how the different flavors play with each other, I'm going to get Flavourart samplers, all including:

  • Virginia 3%
  • Maxx Blend 3%
  • Nut Mix 2%
  • Perique 2%
  • Cookie 2%
  • White Peach 1%
  • Cream Fresh 1%
  • Vanilla Bourbon 1%
  • Pineapple 1%
  • Mango 1%

We'll see if it gets anywhere near Moontrance, I suppose :P

I'll ALSO be trying u/chemicalburnvictim's suggestion, it sounds lovely :) definitely going to be using the red dates, too

FA tobaccos are not a great plan. Using rhem is kinda like playing a videogame at hell difficulty.... Not something you should be attempting first time ojt.

Well, strawberry cream is definitely not what I'm going for, but Moontrance may indeed have cream notes, now that I think of it!
