Hot Seat Sunday
So, this is an idea for a weekly thread… Basically it's a AMA thread with a twist – the 'victim' gets to name who is next up in the rotation. It was started by /u/juthinc in this thread here and it was continued by /u/isuamadog in here , and continued here by /u/humanpuck, and there by /u/eyemakepizza, /u/ID10-T AMA is here , /u/vApe_Escape right here , /u/mlNikon somewhere in the area of here, /u/EdibleMalfunction's AMA resides here, and /u/Foment-Life's most certainly right here
There are some rules:
try picking someone who hasn't gone yet
it has to be someone who actively posts here
no dead people (ie: notcharlesmanson isn't eligible)
preferably a name that people recognize, 'regular poster' means someone who is a) alive and b) has posted in the last three months
Complete the FAQ before posting
if you do the hot seat, you can add up to three names to the list of people who are potential victims. Now, in the interest of saving some likely to be asked questions from coming up multiple times, I've included a FAQ below. With that said (and remembering to not repeat questions from the FAQ) fire away. Oh, and next time, it's someone's turn and you will be pm'ed regarding your participation. (possibly /u/AlfredPudding /u/modivin /u/odiedoodah /u/Apexified /u/staybert).

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
How'd you get your handle? Well I was dating a woman about 10 years ago. She quite often referred to me as a stray cat, due to my kinda loose personality. I guess the game just kinda stuck.
How long have you been mixing for? I first started around 2015, mainly due to the fact that commercial juices bored the hell out of me and I could never find profiles I really liked. But as time passed on, commercial juice got better and I stopped mixing. Picked it back up through 2017, but first really kicked off by the end of 2018 - so on and off.
MTL or DTL? I strictly do DTL. I have tried to do MTL over the past few years, but I find some comfort in DTL.
Current flavor or profile obsession? Current obsession is targeted towards boozes, teas, tobaccos, rice and anything vanilla - I'm tired of candies and boring fruit profiles.
Most/Least disappointing flavors that was/not as expected? I have some issues with INW Shisha Vanilla, knowing it's a very popular flavor. But I don't really see all the hype over it. Least disappointing is actually Apple Filling, knowing it doesn't have much apple in it, but it does live up to its name.
Mixing Milestone? That would most definitely be my Clouds of Buddha. To make the rice work so well together with florals and the small amount of fruit, and yet still be very pleasant to vape made me proud.
Recipes you admire/love? I'm actually very fond of /u/Alfredpudding and /u/MaxSavage's Lime Drink. Also /u/ID10-T's
1 2 3 Butter Pecan Pie was the one that made me look further into 1 2 3 recipes and taught me a thing or two about structure.
White whale? My white whale is not so much based on being able to create a specific profile. No no, my white whale is definitely to be able to create a profile that will pass on as a One Shot.
How would you describe your mixing style? Throw shit on the wall and see what sticks. I usually have some sort of direction before I start mixing, but what I end up with is rarely what I had in mind. The profile fits, but the ingredients are usually nowhere near the same. It's a bit reckless, wasteful and furious to mix like that, but when an idea wants to get out, it has to get out.
Advice for new mixers? Accept that you will screw up. Accept that often you have to admit defeat. That's just how it is. But do yourself a favor and read up on your choice of flavors. Suck up the reviews as good as you can, study your flavors and put an effort into following your nose.
Further, don't make the mistake of picking up just anything because it sounds good.
Mixing is a patience game and you cannot rush a good mix, no matter how much you really want to just shake and vape that mix you just whipped up. First things first, get yourself a good ADV - then start experimenting with the weird mixes and do not let anybody drag you down, because you want to try and mix something weird and different that isn't your run of the mill fucking strawberry cream.
What inspired the Buddha series of recipes?
Well the inspiration came to me from a discussion I had a work with some of my co-workers.
Many people here in Denmark see the the deity Hotei (also known as Budai) as the actual Buddha. While it is correct that Hotei is a Buddha but he's not THE Buddha most people refer to.
Anyway, on my way home from wok that day I drifted off a little as I was peddling my bike, thinking about what Buddha would actually eat - so I did research, bothered Alfred, and the profiles started to get developed.
How are we going to convince the rest of the world how delicious licorice is?
Well you can drag a horse to water, and if you at the same time pull a gun to its head, I'm sure it'll drink as well.
Does your wife find your internet mixing buddies weird?
Has your wife thrown a ~~flip flop~~ slipper at you yet?
haha, pizza. nobody wears flip flops. Zori is the sandal, flip flop is just the sound they make :)

If anyone cares https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip-flops. you don't throw shoes at people but it is a cute way to show aggressiveness without actual harm. Nonetheless, still wanna know what kitty says
Zōri
Zōri (草履) are flat and thonged Japanese sandals made of rice straw or cloth, lacquered wood, leather, rubber, or, most commonly, synthetic materials. Zōri are quite similar to flip-flops.

It's actually mostly slippers she hits me with. She has yet to throw it, but she throws a lot of other stuff at me instead. Such as tea towles.
What would be your desert Island vape? 1 mod 1 atty 1 recipe? You also have an unlimited supply of batteries, cotton, coils and all that jazz.
Good question.
Mod: Aegis Legend for the sturdiness.
Atty: Wotofo Profile Unity
Recipe: I'd have to go with Ginger Rum Drink
You're always on discord, when do you sleep?
How cool was it when Folkart was on DIYORDIE and he talked about your Buddha potentially being recipe of the year?
It says your current flavor obsession is booze. If you haven't already, you should try Awesometown Bees Knees. Its tastes and smells like a bud light that has been sitting out for a week after a party. Really enjoyable/s
What is your favourite thing about Sweden?
That would be you. And midsummer celebration with lots and lots of korv and Johnny's Senap!
Have you ever heard of Alex Gustafsson? I was just wondering if he's a recognizable sports figure there.
If you could pick 1 flavor to represent Denmark, what would it be and why?
You said 1, I'm still gonna pick 2.
- Any black licorice
- CAP Danish Cinnamon Swirl
What is the most disgusting mix or combo that you have ever created?
As of late as far as I can remember, I tried to make a mixture of CAP Funnel Cake and whatever mango I had within reach. That was not very delightful.
> CAP Funnel Cake
That was one of my first flavors. I mixed it up around 6% solo. It made me gag it was so gross. PlayDoe flavoring at it's finest. Do you taste playdoe with that?
People say taste is subjective. Do you think taste is cultural as well? How does that affect mixing?
I believe very much so yes. And it does affect mixing too. We can take an example we have seen a lot lately, where /u/staybert and I have been on a black licorice trip. We're scandinavians, so black licorice is in our blood. Yet, everytime we mention a black licorice mix to someone from let's say US, 9 out of 10 times, the suggestion gets shut down, because of what I believe is a cultural difference.
So I strongly believe, that how we portray taste in culture also transfers into the world of mixing.
Are there any mixers out there that you look up to or that inspire you?
Several!
But instead of creating a long list of names, I'll say this:
I think most mixers got a habit of inspiring eachother as an idea can quickly get passed around.
Inspiration doesn't come in the shape of fame or glory. All it takes is a little spark. And anybody can really create such a spark.
With all the mixers I meet, greet and talk to on a daily basis - new as experienced, that is where I find my inspiration!
What is your favorite part of collaborative mixing? What's the worst part?
What do you use for inspiration when coming up with new mixes?
What's your advice to newer, but not brand new mixers about different profiles that they are afraid of or never liked?
What do you think about flavor acquisition/collection? Better to start slow/follow a profile/ dive right in?
Actually, I'm all for start slow by following a profile, but surely do dive right into that profile!
Some people are in it to save money, some people are in it to let their creativity flow and there are probably a ton of other reasons.
Sometimes I find flavor acquisition a giant chore that I wish I didn't have, but come one.. it's a little exciting to get some new flavors, right?
If you find a profile you're interested in, do the research, see what others have come up with and build your idea based on it.
So you have a bike? what kind?
A mountain bike with 24 gear and 29" wheels! Although I will switch it out in 2 weeks with an electrical bike.
You can only vape this 2 flavor banger for the next month. How does it look like? You have to make a new one (no Lime Drink!)
Where did you first get the idea that you could mix your own juice?
I'm going to make a recipe and name it after you. What should the flavor profile be and/or which ingredients must it include?
I would probably appreciate either a sweet bacco recipe or a fancy cocktail.
So a few it would either include sweet tobacco or booze.. or both!
And then a little of that Dave-Magic.
Do you have a favorite fruit to eat?
I do! Banana, which is weird cause I can't stand vaping bananas - with very few exceptions.
Get VT banana custard. So many possible good mixes with it...
It's in m plans to get that one, but honestly I'm far from sure it'll fix my dislike of banana vapes for a few reasons:
- I really cannot think of any profiles with banana that I'd like (again with few exceptions of recipes already out there)
- I'm scared that it'll have the same peppery taste to it, like TFA Banana Cream gives me (and here I believe the cream part contains an ingredient that they are also using in the TFA VBIC - hence the peppery taste).
But I'm all game for giving it a go, providing I can actually find a profile I'd like to make with it.
Not a question (since it's two days later) but a hope that you and/or @Id10-T share some of those black licorice recipes. American of Swedish/Dutch descent that loves Anise and black licorice (also pineapple on pizza but that's another thing altogether).
I do have two on my ATF profile:
If they are any good, I don't know, but I like them
