'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of May 27, 2019
submitted over 6 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the May Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping! We keep an archive of all the past threads in our wiki as well

Happy Vaping!

Bit of a dessert trip\remix week

Buttermilk Pie by Silky Definitely digging this one. Such a smooth dairy finish. Highly recommend.

Assassin (killer Kustard remix) by folkart KK was my favorite commercial go-to juice & this is a really solid, even better than KK mix. Highly recommend.

Country clouds cornbread puddin remix by shakenvape007 I've been vaping this for a while. Toned the sweetener way down but it's led me to start pointing all things maple. Only diy I've gone through 120ml of & have to mix some more.

& As always experimenting with this & that. Close to releasing a very bright lemon custard cake & peanut butter banana sandwich. Maybe a maple donut as well.

Also drop by the discord server if you haven't already! Competed in my first mixers showdown Sunday & it was really a lot of fun, but we need fresh meat, erm I mean "Always look forward to seeing new faces there :) "

Funny, I was eyefucking that Assassin recipe yesterday wondering if I should mix it. I looooove me some HS Italian Cream. I think it will get mixed this week.

Well deserved. Definitely see why you keep some of that around. I'll be doing the same 👍

Buttermilk Pie is absolutely scrumptious. Hope it was my recommendation that had you mix this. So buttery smooth. I need to check out assassin ASAP. Folkart makes some crazy good recipes.

Just finished testing the latest batch of a banana butterscotch pudding built around VT Banana Custard (such an awesome flavor). I'm having problems with the butterscotch though. I have an even harder time tasting it than caramel. Also mixed in a SFT of FW Butterscotch at the end but it didn't seem to do much at 4%. FLV Butterscotch was a flop in it too. I think next revision I'm going to blast the butterscotches up to 6-8% and see where that gets me. Anyone know where the ceiling is for VT BAnana Custard? I've got it up to 4% and it seems to be getting a bit brighter.

Also struggling to finish off a 100ml of Manuka that I've let steep for too long. 3 months old and it's starting to get a bit dry on the throat. Such a lovely mix though.

Currently vaping a few guava mixes for testing to make a guava pastry! Went 3% pink guava with 2% sweet guava (don't have the companies off hand) and it's been really good so far. Just wish I made more haha. Up next is trying to build a good flakey pastry blend to mix well with this guava.

maybe try wf croissant?

by TheSpanishSteedover 6 years ago

I was thinking either that or a mixture of INW biscuit and some kind of butter or croissant.

Vt croissant is more butter and less flakey if that’s what you’re after.

Best damn pink lemonade with 3% TFA Peach Juicy instead of Strawberry Ripe. Sometimes it tastes like a lemonade with a peach scent, the other times it's a peach ice tea with lemon background. Overall pretty fun experience. First batch tho, might add more peach next time.

Can't link now, mobile user, rip

Cherry Bomb by /u/AlfredPudding and a variation designed with added pineapple and a few other changes designed to turn it into Hawaiian Punch. It's almost there!

And failed but not unpleasant attempts at a plain glazed donut. Turns out both WF Glazed Donut, which is a pretty great donut all by itself but just a little unbalanced in favor of the outside "skin" of a donut, and the FLV Sweet Dough I'm trying to use to help fill in the inside of the donut do quite a bit of growing as they steep. So it's like a big pile of donut skins and Sweet Dough is giving off some caramel-maple flavor that's unwanted. I'm just going to try dropping those a little, steeping a couple of weeks again and seeing what happens, like this:

Krispy Kreme V4

  • WF Glazed Donut 2% (down from 2.5%)
  • TFA Marshmallow 1.25% (no change)
  • FLV Sweet Dough 0.1% (down from 0.2%)
  • FW Sweetener 0.3% (no change)

Also tried a version with TFA Whipped Cream instead of Marshmallow, that was a bust, too much dairy flavor.

A lot of donut glazes are sugar syrup made from lemon/OJ. So maybe a touch of orange would help your glaze?

What you’re describing would be easily done with FLV Pastry Zest (that would be the lemon version) and be tasty, too. I might give up on making the most “plain” fried donut possible and pivot to that.

Is there a reason you're trying to make the worst possible donut? Like, do you need that as a base to make a decent donut like a cherry cruller(or however that's spelt), or what?

Prickly victory by hashslingingslashurreally has really impressed me. First impressions I thought it was a bit too sweet but after a few days it really mellows out into a really nice bubblegum sort of flavor. Only two flavorings so it's simple and accessible to mix.

I've mainly been vaping on Mama Melons and Desert Dew. I feel as though the Desert Dew needs some menthol kick, so I got some WS-23 coming soon. I've also been vaping on one of my mixes which I call PomCran. The recipe is below for those who are interested.

|Flavor|Percentage| |:-|:-| |TFA Pomegranate|2%| |TFA Cranberry|2%| |TFA Bavarian Creme|3%|

One of my own - Next-Level Blueberry Cheesecake - that I hastily threw together just to get some use out of my then-untouched FW Blueberry and other bits until my next order arrives. Turns out it's absolutely fucking delicious and I've gone through more of it than Frank Gallagher in an off license on Dole Day. I've also made a variation with an additional 2% of Chef's/CCW Cookie Dough Ice Cream (though I suspect the same effect could be achieved with TFA VBIC / one's own preferred ice cream conc.) and a touch (1-2%) of Sweet Strawberry while adjusting the other fruits as one sees fit.

Also I feel Ella's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes needs some serious recognition. It's been in my rotation for almst a year now and it was love at first sight - hands down has to be one of the greatest cereal vapes. Chef's (UK) used to sell it as a one-shot too but they stopped for some reason.

A few different things!

Lust Island is a pineapple guava smoothie that u/humanpuck and I whipped up on the Discord. It’s an amazing tropical smoothie. The tiny bit of cactus and WS-23 add a very nice and refreshing feel to the overall profile.

Hey Red Team, We Can Have Our Cake AND Vape It Too was a collaboration between u/eyemakepizza, u/kittybit8, and I during the mixer showdown last week. The JF Yellow Cake came forward with a steep and we are going to be working on perfecting this recipe soon!

Also working on a few different recipes of my own and waiting on a few recipes from others to steep!

Mint chocolate rosebud

No actual chocolate needed to achieve this authentic flavor. It's a bit lower on then menthol side because most of the menthol comes from spearmint. For the first 3 days or so it tastes like a simple vanilla menthol syrup but the spearmint quickly takes over and mutes the menthol and an authentic milk chocolate becomes established. It simply won't taste authentic if you bump up the menthol so don't even try.

A picture to assist your memory

kind of too many unlabeled testers to count. mostly mediocre. in between all that are the two side projects:

Joe: SM Italian Roast 5 / VT coffee liquor 1-2 / PUR carmel cap 1 / vt coffee milk froth 2 / rich cinnamon 0.1%

Berry bacco: SM honduran Liguero 5 / flv acai 1

Not sure if this is the right place, But just want to raise the alarm in regard to the ‘fantasi’ blends rotating in Uk (northwest) // -65ml bottles -cheap aluminium like camping cups -have a pipet. They are awful and have ZERO source information. Most people dont find this an issue however it really matter that flavours can be traced to source as we dont know anything about ingredients. All it says is ‘Product of Malaysia’. Im not saying its dangerous but something about the packaging rings alarms especially when it isnt traceable to even a distro warehouse and I cant imagine they have removed import stickers so its not likely to be malaysian at all.. and im likely worrying for nothing and its just a way to get away with using fantas logo but I smell a rat !!
