> It’s an odd milestone when every highlight is a recipe and though I try to “never” include my own posts in the highlights because (despite your typical generosity with the upvotes) recurring posts generally don’t need to be highlighted, they're always popping up. It’s a bit of serendipity that FAQ Friday: Finding Recipes finally got released this week, when the recipes were pouring onto the front page. I’m going to attempt to get more of the FAQ’s released in the coming weeks, pressing other contributors to fill the gaps in my time and knowledge, in order to create a resource that I hope is worth sharing. If anyone has suggestions for topics that need a more clear and complete answer: Let me know here!
#Highlights from Last Week
-
/u/matthewkocanda is back at it again with an artistic recipe he calls AMORPHOUS “a four-part conceptual piece” and some insight into the mind of a puckish, twisted, and raw mixing maven.
-
/u/Arpeggiator8472 is nothing short of a well-renowned mixer (for all the right reasons) and while the description for “SHITSTORM” is positively mouthwatering--the recipe name itself is not evoking the same flavorful experience you’d expect from it’s ingredient list. Certainly going to mix it anyway, just sayin’...
-
/u/n0tvegan had me at FLV Mango but carried on anyway, describing the “Bliss” that is their latest recipe. Mangoes and Cream and… Cactus? Oh my!
-
/u/Arpeggiator8472 not only shared a recipe inspired by a drink but the recipe for the drink that inspired the recipe. "THE LAST DRAGON" is based on a fascinating drink I’d never heard of and made as a beautiful tribute to the mythical Drogon. Epic.
-
/u/EdibleMalfunction released the sci-fi inspired "Xenomorph" with a list of ingredients that could only be crafted by hard science and peer-reviewed collaboration. Always knew Edi was a badass but making soda from the blood of Aliens is… next level.
-
/u/inkedatty dropped “Pillow Mint” a simple Mint Cream that looks like it would make for a tasty palate cleanser.
Throwback Highlight
- /u/tranceinate’s now classic recipe dump

> According to /u/folkart2000 "We have assembled some of the most well-known and talented mixers from our community to bring you... DEVELOPED and DEVELOPED LIVE! DEVELOPED, released every Tuesday at 6:00pm EST, shows our recipe development process in action! It's a short 15 minute episode that's fast-paced, entertaining, and packed with information. DEVELOPED LIVE airs every Saturday at 6:00pm EST and allows the community to get involved in the conversation as we break down the recipe from Tuesday's episode." The show is also edited by our very own /u/AlfredPudding.
##Fresh03 > Fresh03 AKA Dustin Freshly is a prolific mixer and YouTube reviewer who not only appears on a variety of DIY shows but also hosts a couple notable and incredibly lengthy live shows with a large and almost all-inclusive cast of mixers you’ve probably heard of.
##Mixin Vixens > From Emily (/u/mlNikon) "Mixin Vixens is a diverse all female mixing panel on a YouTube weekly show that airs live Sunday’s at 6pm Eastern. Weekly we take pictures submitted by our viewers and each of us interprets the picture and converts it from a visual to a taste. After 4 rounds of mixing we allow the Man Team to critique our recipes and give us hell. Week after week we provide knowledge and entertainment. Month after month after we pick the recipe we want judged the judges come in knock us over the head and there is only one woman standing."
##Noted > The three hosts /u/mlNikon, /u/CheebaSteeba, and /u/ID10-T (and usually one guest) talk extensively about last week's Flavor of the Week. They each try a handful of flavors (or many more than that) and give their impressions while often sharing a few recipes that include those flavors.
##The Fog Vlog An ensemble cast of South African mixers who do live mixes, flavor reviews and mixer reviews where they review several recipes from one mixer.
- Mixed - Tropical Fruit Juice (Balancing)
- Bangers - Chocolate
- Easy Does It - Molinberry Shape Up Pear
I tried Cherry Bomb and one of things I told AlfredPudding about it was that I thought it was about 5% INW Pineapple shy of a solid Hawaiian Punch. He tried that and sent me back a recipe counter point that included said Pineapple and a few other changes. I tried that and sent him back a recipe counter counter point with minor adjustments. I don't know who this will wind up with but you can be sure there will be Hawaiian punch coming out of it eventually.
Alright, everyone, I've got a sweet new chemical recipe that's going to rock your world. Introducing
