Pillow Mint
submitted over 6 years ago by inkedatty

Hi, This is just a simple Mint Cream recipe that I want to share. It has been tweaked for a few years now for my wife who started on Menthol. She wanted to find other flavors she could enjoy and you really don't see allot of Mint vapes. This is a very good recipe to make for someone that is stuck on Menthol.

Cream (Flavorah) - 2.0%

Cool Mint (CAP) - 2.5%

Marshmallow (FA) - 1.0%

ws-3 - 0.25%

Ethyl Maltol & Sucralose - I usually add 0.7 to 1.5% of total sweetener, usually more EM which seems to taste more "candy" sweet.

SUBS

• Cream(FLV) can be subbed for VBIC(CAP) around the same percentage. If you do not like the FLV Cream's Vanilla flavor then you may like CAP VBIC more. Give (FLV)Cream a try first if possible, it makes the recipe.

Cool Mint(CAP) originally started as Peppermint (Mild Winter) (FA), but some people do not want the pepper kick with their Mint flavor. Capella Mint is pretty amazing and tastes more like a pillow mint than a candy cane peppermint. If you enjoy Candy Cane type mint more, go for the Flavor Art Peppermint.

WS-3 - I was told this is basically Koolada. I have heard that WS-23 is better, but I can not taste any off notes from the WS-3 as is.

I do not think the above SUBS will bring the same results at all. I have used them in a pinch and had good results that are in a way similar, but a way different taste. If you want the real deal, pick up the recommended flavors.

I hope everyone here is doing well. I miss having time to read this sub for inspiration. There have been some amazing mixologists made in this sub, and some really good recipes. Thank You!

Enjoy!

-Travis

Ws-3/koolada is powerful but alter the taste. Ws-23 (30%+) may help to get a good fresh taste. WS-23 0.5% is a good start point.

Sounds tasty. I'll be trying that one out for sure.

A mint one that I've been playing with is a wint-o-green lifesaver. It's 25% TFA Wintergreen (yeah, you need a LOT), 8 drops of WS-23 per 10mL, and 5 drops of CAP Super Sweet per 10mL. Feel free to tweak those last 2 up or down based on preference. I like the level of cooling and sweetness, but that's just my opinion.

To my goat palate, it's pretty damn close to the mints.

Just a thought, if you make that recipe often, you might want to buy USP methyl salicylate instead. TFA Wintergreen is just that at 1-10% in PG (they don't give an exact concentration).

Thanks for the tip! It would be nice not to have to put so much flavoring in.

That is a good idea for a vape that isn't Menthol also, but close enough hat menthol users may like it.

Question about the subs... you really think CAP VBIC has less vanilla than FLV Cream?

No Sorry, Maybe I wrote that incorrectly. The FLV Cream has less Vanilla taste. I was trying to say "if you don't like the vanilla taste it has, try Cap VBIC." I really recommend using FLV Cream though, it makes the recipe.

Yeah, I figured you were a rational person, as in "If you want to avoid the vanilla taste of FLV...."

My bad.

It was written odd. I like the Vanilla taste of (FLV), but it is an odd vanilla taste. It took me a long time to find a use for (FLV)Cream.

The (FLV) Vanilla Custard seems different also and tastes like Vanilla Pudding to me. I want to try and make a Banana Pudding with it.

(CAP)VBIC seems to make it more of a mint Ice Cream than a Candy Mint.

May I use TFA Vanilla Swirl or TFA VBIC or TFA Vanilla Cupcake or FA Cream Fresh ?

You could probably use (TFA)VBIC to make a mint ice cream this way. (TFA)Vanilla Swirl may work. I never tried that one with this recipe. It is definitely a different taste than (FLV)Cream.

Thank you. How about TFA VBIC percentage?

Same, around 2%

This looks like it would be a great pod recipe if adjusted a bit. I'm going to try that and let you know how it goes.
