> “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth”
> One of the most common themes across so many of the questions, discussions, and requests posted here in the sub is the idea of one singular BEST: the best nicotine, best flavors, best recipes, etc. The common denominator IS the lowest common denominator and while we’re being cliche; at the end of the day, it’s entirely subjective.
> If you think about it, though, the desire to be lead, or steered in the right direction, makes sense. It’s like listening to DJ /u/modivin and asking him to play the best songs. Even if you include a variable like “the best songs from the 90’s” or “the best new wave songs from 76-78” you’re still only going to hear what Mod chooses. And for a lot of people that’s exactly what they want; someone who is considered (or at least considers themselves) a connoisseur of music or mixing to step in and be their guide.
> Pick a mentor. Find someone who’s taste lines up with yours and whose advice makes sense to you. The key to getting the best results when seeking the best is to figure out who the most passionate and informed people are--it’s the closest you can get to an actual BEST. It takes a bit of time and reading through the posts but you’ll see them all over the discussions happening here and on discord. Don’t be afraid to approach these people with your questions, whether on discord or with a page here (/u/ID10-T for example) the majority of people involved in this hobby are more than happy to help you out, especially when you seek them out specifically.

> According to /u/folkart2000 "We have assembled some of the most well-known and talented mixers from our community to bring you... DEVELOPED and DEVELOPED LIVE! DEVELOPED, released every Tuesday at 6:00pm EST, shows our recipe development process in action! It's a short 15 minute episode that's fast-paced, entertaining, and packed with information. ##Fresh03 > Fresh03 AKA Dustin Freshly is a prolific mixer and YouTube reviewer who not only appears on a variety of DIY shows but also hosts a couple notable and incredibly lengthy live shows with a large and almost all-inclusive cast of mixers you’ve probably heard of.
##Mixin Vixens > From Emily (/u/mlNikon) "Mixin Vixens is a diverse all female mixing panel on a YouTube weekly show that airs live Sunday’s at 6pm Eastern. Weekly we take pictures submitted by our viewers and each of us interprets the picture and converts it from a visual to a taste. After 4 rounds of mixing we allow the Man Team to critique our recipes and give us hell. Week after week we provide knowledge and entertainment. Month after month after we pick the recipe we want judged the judges come in knock us over the head and there is only one woman standing."
##Rin Vapes > Rin is a consummate guest on many DIY podcasts, an OG mixer, and has been putting out DIY and vaping videos on her own channel for years
##Noted > The three hosts /u/mlNikon, /u/CheebaSteeba, and /u/ID10-T (and usually one guest) talk extensively about last week's Flavor of the Week. They each try a handful of flavors (or many more than that) and give their impressions while often sharing a few recipes that include those flavors.
##The Fog Vlog An ensemble cast of South African mixers who do live mixes, flavor reviews and mixer reviews where they review several recipes from one mixer.
>just to be clear, u/modivin really is the best dj.
I second this.

The great thing about this community is that there are some many that are WILLING to be mentors. Up until about 3 months ago I had no idea what I was doing. With the help of people like ID10-T, EdibleMalfunction, Isuamadog, Foment_life, eyemakepizze, alfredpudding, mlnikon, kindground, shyndo and the list goes on, I feel that I've grown so much more as a mixer than I did the entire 4 or 5 years prior that I'd been making my own juice.
To be clear I was using /u/ID10-T as an example of how to page someone not necessarily suggesting that you just page him whenever you have a question. But it might work ;)
It will most likely work to get a reply. There's a decent chance that reply will involve an attempt to be as helpful as possible.
But there's a not-insignificant chance that reply will contain unintentionally terrible advice, incoherent gibberish, befuddlement, bitter sarcasm, indecent proposals, or curmudgeonly disdain. Go ahead and roll that dice all you want.
just to be clear, u/modivin really is the best dj.

What I have been enjoying these days has been trying out less familiar tobaccos and flavors i have. I think getting over that beginner hump of mixing to just make something vapable and moving more towards curiosity is a nice shift for me. But nothing beats mixing up a bunch of someone else's recipes for learning and exposure. Rather than just mixing up highly rated recipes, or even just mixing up what looks good to you (both of which are fun and valuable experiences, I really enjoy mixing up 3-5 mixes from someone and just seeing what they are all about. You can learn how to use a flavor in a different way or even imagine how you would approach a mix differently. We too often say, well 'it wont be the same' if you sub out something because you don't have a flavor, but once you get to know a recipe, it can be fun to just play with one and see what differences bring.

anyway, always thanks for these weekly digests. they are always great.
What does everyone think about that Suclarose study?
