Xenomorph - Lime Ginger Soda

ATF LINK

"Xenomorph"

Co. | Flavor | %
---|---|----
INW | Cactus | 0.75
FLV | Citrus Soda | 1.25 TPA | Ginger Ale | 2 CAP | Hibiscus | 2 FA | Lime Tahity Distilled | 1.5 VT | Shisha Lime | 1 TFA | Sweetener | 0.75 | WS-23 | 0.4

I started out with an idea of an Alien franchise inspired mix. Originally I thought Nostromo would be a fitting name, but was left not really feeling the inspiration. Then Xenomorph came into play. For those not familiar, those are the adult form of the creatures in the films.

This is a fizzy, lime soda with just that touch of Ginger Ale to give it a push.

It was easy where I had to go with this then. Xenomorphs have green, acidic blood. So Lime was a given. And I knew I wanted it to be an in your face, intense recipe. I originally chose VT Shisha Lime and FA Aurora as my base, but it seemed that Aurora was smoothing out the lime too much and that is not what I wanted. With a second opinion from u/FomentLife, I decided to scrap Aurora and add FA Lime Tahity Distilled to get some wonderful zest going in the mix.

u/Staybert found success with FLV Citrus Soda in his Citrasberry recipe, and I knew right away it belonged here. It's the only concentrate I've personally found that gives me that fizzy feeling.

u/OdieDoodah gave me the suggestion of TFA Ginger Ale to add an extra level to the "blood". It provides a great kick, and something I was missing from the test batch. That vanilla aspect of TFA Ginger Ale is subdued by the limes, but still manages to come through a tiny bit. That's not a bad thing, it's a nice addition to the mix.

CAP Hibiscus brings some syrupy goodness into the fold.

INW Cactus was included to juice everything up a bit, and I even bumped it a tiny bit higher than I'd normally use it for its properties to bring some of the actual flavor forward.

WS-23 of course. It's a soda mix after all. Same goes for TFA Sweetener. I would not substitute CAP Super Sweet for this. This isn't a shitty diet soda.

No steep time needed. Shake and vape away as fresh as possible.

Really smart to use cap hibiscus to mitigate some of those overpowering vibes from the lime. Interested to give this one a mix, might have to do a little ginger swap for FLV's ginger, but I can't see that doing any harm. Great shit man, hail science.

I really like the sound of this. TFA Ginger Ale doesn't seem to pop up often. With the hibiscus and cactus are there any f-f-floral notes? Xenomorph reminds me of an old BoltThrower song..

Nope. Hibiscus is just in there for it's sweet syrup properties. The lime is absorbing any of the floral off notes in cactus.

Haha BoltThrower. That's awesome

Is TFA Ginger Ale the ginger ale? Have u tried any others? I'm going to have to try really hard to not order more flavours tomorrow.. What are you vaping this through EM?

TFA Ginger Ale is not the ginger ale. No ginger ale has that much vanilla in it. It's actually a pretty weird flavor, like half ginger ale and half vanilla cream soda. But it looks perfect for this.

I agree with ID10-T below. Asmodus C4 and a Falcon tank.

Upvoted for the name of the juice.

Also, it sounds delicious.

Mind expanding a bit more on what you said about the sweeteners? I.e. what makes you consider SS as a shitty diet soda, and what makes TFA Sweetener better here. I haven't had too much success with the latter in my recipes - I find that SS makes things "pop" more (for me).

It's what it tastes like to me if used too high or in profiles that don't utilize it well. Just tastes fake.

This looks fantastic! Alas I am missing 4 flavors so it will have to wait. I will favorite the recipe on ATF so I'll be able to find it and mix it up as soon as I have everything for it.

FYI: FW Ginger would work well in future attempts at mixes that have ginger ale in the profile. SFT would not give that impression though. But when I add this to a mix it tastes like straight up ginger ale rather than fresh or ground ginger.

No aurora makes me sad, but that won't stop me from mixing this.

Nope. I originally had it in the first batch and it was smoothing the lime over way too much

I’ve been looking for a ginger line juice forever, I’ve tried my had a few times but ginger is a pain to nail down.

I’ll have to pick up some fizzy soda, but I’m all over this!!

FYI i challenged the resident ginger specialist to make a moscow mule vape (ginger beer with mint, lime, and vodka, suitably chilled) so when that recipe comes out, you might be interested.)
