Single Flavour Juices (Hear me out)?
submitted over 6 years ago by klopapierr

You'll probably get the gist from the bolded lines if you dont feel like reading all of it.

Yes, I read the sidebar, and read the stuff that could relate to this topic but none of the threads gave me the specific info I need and I dont really know what to type into the search to get the info I want.

Basically I only mix juices with single concentrates. And thats good enough for me, I dont need three different vanillas and milks to like a juice (no judgement of people who think thats the way to go who are obviously in the majority here). The problem with most single flavour reviews is that they always concentrate on how I could use this in a recipe and it often also isnt clear if the flavour is better or worse than comparable ones.

So far my "research" has consisted of me browsing seller's websites and picking the flavours that sound good, have decent reviews and arent expensive as shit (cough shake n vape cough). I have found a good amount of flavours I like in my two years doing that.

But now I kinda landed in a crisis where some of my regular stuff didnt taste good anymore and I am now not as limited (in a good way) in my choices i.e. I'd like to try some flavours outside of my usual range.

So what would be concentrates you would be comfortable to recommend for vaping on its own (preferably Cap, Inw, Fa)?

What I like so far (I mix everything at 5%, 3mg nic, 50/50):

  • CAP Chai
  • Pseudo Bunny Twisted
  • FA Hazelnut
  • FA Peach
  • INW Raspberry
  • CAP Pumpkin Spice
  • Bozz Granny's style
  • Twisted Maracuja Twist
  • CAP Sweet Strawberry
  • VV Pinkman
  • Twisted Calipter Cow
  • INW Golden Ducat (2%)

Wrong answer. Try 1%. One recipe improved with significance and money saved. PM me if you want I'll try and help. But drop the arrogance. It's obvious you suck at making ejuice. We can unsuck you if you want.

I did raspberry once at around five percent and it tastes great for a little bit. Then it started to taste like I was chewing on sticks and leaves. Funky aftertaste. Would 1 percent eliminate this?

Yep probably! I like it at 1%.

Thanks for the tip. I knocked it down to 2.5 percent and it's delicious

I looks like you are familiar with some of the "complex" single flavor concentrates, so here's my additions.

CAP 27 Bears - incredible on its own between 3-5%. Candy, sweet, kinda tart, it's solid.

VT Fizzy Sherbet - it has a sort of citrus soda profile, so if that's your thing, it's great solo. Has some candy elements to it as well, but overall, it's a sprite/7up profile with a touch of sour.

FW Beetle Juice - just a mix of random shit here. You'll note tropical fruits, berries, citrus, just depending on the use. I like it around 3% solo, but push it and see what happens. Add a touch of INW Dragonfruit if you're feelin frosty.

INW Dragonfruit - speaking of that, on it's own, it's pretty neat. Overall, it's a tropical fruit blend, with major notes of pineapple. However, it's got this creamy element to it that makes it more than just an emulsifier, like TPA Dragonfruit. Not my preferred solo flavor, but it may suit your taste.

INW Two Apples - this is a nice blend of red apples and green apples. You get some tart notes, but on it's own, it's just a solid apple blend. It's got a bit of harshness on the back end at higher percentage, so be mindful of that.

There are probably others, but this is what I got for you right now.

Have you ever used INW Pataya Dragonfruit? Just wondering would it work well with CAP 27 Bears? Have been vaping your Soda Bears. Really nice.

INW Pitaya is INW Dragonfruit. Just different names based on the distro.

If you like Fizzy Sherbet, I'd say you'd like FLV Citrus Soda. Not as fizzy but refreshing.

INW AM4A 3%

FlV Red Burley 1% SnV, 2% steeped

INW Black for Pipe 3%

(Really, other than tobaccos, not much is good all on its own compared to in a mix.)

FA Fuji isn't bad on its own (with some cooling).

3% INW Grapes with cooling is great

5-6% la lemonade (NeoCitran without cooling, lemonade with.)

I've already found a tobacco flavour I like and theyre too similar to each other that I'd feel the need to explore more of them. Thanks for taking the time to comment though :)

I don't really see why you feel the need to express that you're pissed about whatever you didnt like about my comment that isn't even adressed at you (no idea what it could be tbh). Seriously, only commenting to be negative without actually giving constructive criticism is useless and only spreads negativity.

I use both INW Shisha Strawberry and INW Strawberry solo and really enjoy both. A lot of people use INW Cactus as an additive, but I actually prefer it solo at around 2%. If you like citrus, INW Shisha Lime is probably my favorite lime to use by itself. It’s fairly soft compared to other limes, but I think this makes it a lot more palatable when used on its own. I’d also recommend FA Forest Fruit and FA King.

by Labubsover 6 years ago

A few years ago I got a tip from one of the master mixers...I wanna say it was NotCharlesManson. Shisha Strawberry, 7%. It sounds ridiculously over the top, but it's an amazing, juicy, jammy S&V strawberry. 1 or 2 % Cactus added literally gushes. Considering it's INW though, it's sorta expensive for a single flavor S&V, but it's definitely a treat!

1 points

by klopapierrover 6 years ago

How much are other concentrates in the US? INW is one of the cheaper brands in europe.

1 points

by Labubsover 6 years ago

Yeah, I'd imagine so, they're from Italy, right? Typically TFA is about USD $7.50/120ml, CAP is $12.50/120ml, while INW is $7.50 for 30ml, or $25/120. Flavorah is also expensive at around $5/15ml (and oftentimes only available in that size...my Macaroon recipe resents this, though I suppose you end up using far less INW or FLV compared to say, TFA or CAP)....FW is $10/120ml, and FA is in between, at about $18/120ml. Of course there's wholesale deals, and smaller bottles will have a higher unit price, but that's the average on 4 oz/120ml bottles of the bigger brands here (per Bull City Flavors, which (along with Wizard Labs when I'm ordering Nic and GremlinDIY, both have similar pricing) is where I buy my flavors

What would you say is better, Strawberry Shisha or Strawberry? What is the part of the flavour thats definitely different? Yeah, I vape Cactus on its own sometimes but its not good enough for me for regular vaping (tho that might've changed with my recent palate adjustment..). Pseudo Bunny Twisted is currently my citrus juice and I usually dont do too similar juices. I didnt like Forest Fruit too much, though its often times advertised as the concentrate for single juices. I dont think I can get King where I live (or would have to pay lots of shipping). Thanks for the suggestions.

by PepperMyJabrillover 6 years ago

I honestly can’t say which one I prefer over the other. Shisha Strawberry is talked about a lot more than their regular strawberry, but I think that both are great. Shisha has a softer sweetness and has a thick, syrupy feel, while regular strawberry (listed as Strawberry Koncentrat) is very sweet, has a little bit of tartness, and is a bit more artificial and candy-ish.

FLV Pink Guava at 2%

CAP Pink Lemonade

INW Lemon Cake

CAP Vanilla Custard

FLV Mango

I'd have those as single flavors, but really CAP Pink Lemonade and Pink Guava I run as singles exclusively. Everything else is begging me to add to them. 4.5% FW Blueberry and 5% CAP VC is an amazing, simple recipe for example.

The Pazzo line is hit or miss, IMO. Their Ace is my current when-in-doubt-shake-n-vape, but I can't taste the strawberry in their Jack, and Joker is terrible for some unknown reason.

Seconding pink guava solo. It's absolutely delicious.

I do add cooling, but that's a personal decision.

2 points

by Keroseneslickbackover 6 years ago

Same! Some cooling brings out a body with pink guava, but I also add sweetener to all my juices and really makes it pop. Even if I do just one flavor, I add some sweetener to bring it out.

1 points

by Up2myheadover 6 years ago

I'm not huge on sweetener, but a little can be a good thing.

I'm mixing some p guava tomorrow. I've been craving it.

Ejuice recipes are a large circle jerk so for this reason don't judge a recipe on it's ratings. The best recipes tend to lean heavily on one flavor with one or two supporting flavors so keep this in mind when browsing. Creams don't typically need a friend, but fruits do more often than not. Consider adding 0.66% INW Cactus to your favorite fruits and calling it a day before you ever consider to tweak and add another flavor that might pair.

If we are being honest I would suggest you buy one shot extracts as it will take out most of the guesswork and save you money in the long run as one shot recipes tend to be wasted less since not much can go wrong.

May be try joker with higher % like 10.. initially i had mixed it for 6-8% and it felt really dry and not much flavor.. but with 10%, i can taste the creamy side as well..

CAP Pink Lemonade really isnt my cup of tea (...or rather glass of pop? Lol). FLV sadly is one of those brands that I can't get here/would've to get imported from the US, and I only do that when theres truly no equivalent to the product locally, which for concentrates there is a bunch of (I know this hurts for some DIYers to read "THEY'RE NOT THE SAME!". Nah theyre not but I dont need every concentrate advertised as the best in my arsenal.) Thanks for reminding me to get Blueberry, I kinda always imagine the Arizona Blueberry flavour and am put of (even though I like Arizona Blueberry). I already have CAP VC so Im gonna try that combination. Thanks for the suggestions!

FA Strawberry Ripe

And I know you're sticking to single flavors, but if you did want to mix TFA Dragonfruit and Grape Juice, it's an old popular two flavor recipe on ELR called Grack Juice, tastes great

1 points

by klopapierrover 6 years ago

I've now gotten three suggestions for strawberry. I hate this sub, lol. Jk, thanks for the suggestion I'll consider it out of the three. Tbh both dragonfruit and grape arent really flavours I like and I dont think this is a case where two negatives make one positive...

1 points

by keagan2000over 6 years ago

I absolute get that, if you dont like either you probably would not enjoy the combination, its almost like vaping the smell of a wine.

If you're a fan if cool juices, FW Blue Ice solo is pretty common, it's kind of like a Blue Slushiee

Have u ever watched Noted? From DIYORDIE? Check it out. Pay a couple bucks, join even for a month, and explore flavors with many diff tongues doing the tasting. So helpful. Also, read the Notes under each flavor on the stash list on ELRecipes. Click on the flavor, scroll down, click notes, and read. Not only will it give you several people's different reviews and extensive single flavor test on each, it will also tell you the right percentage to use it at as a single flavor. These two resources so far for me have been indispensable as a noob who is too lazy to do single flavor test on her own yet. And try some one shots? And have you ever tried a bit less PG, coughing, and adjusting those flavor levels in varying amounts?

1 points

by klopapierrover 6 years ago

Yeah I mixed at 70/30 for a while but didnt like it, I do prefer 50/50. Thanks for the suggestion of Elrecipes, been planning to join a recipe forum for a while (have been getting my reviews mainly from vendors and local forums), to get an idea what recipes I could do with the concentrates I have. I usually look at notes from other people who bought the concentrate and if its not saying "DO NOT MIX ABOVE 3%" I usually just do five. Have never felt the need to go higher tbh.

TFA - Banana Nut Bread - 5%

OSDIY - Lotta Lotte - 5%

FW - Blood Orange - 4-8% (I like it in the higher range)

Cap - Sweet Guava - 5%

Cap - Sweet Tangerine - 5%

Inw - Cactus - 4% (Probably not for everyone)

I enjoy all these as single flavours out of what I've tested alone thus far, but I still have 15+ flavours to SFT that I mixed up last night.
