'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of May 13, 2019
submitted over 6 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the May Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping! We keep an archive of all the past threads in our wiki as well

Happy Vaping!

Finally got my hands on that Holy Grail RY4, so mixed up Cardinal. Love it, like really really love it. Fantastic tobacco flavor on the inhale, and the ~~outhale~~ exhale is just an amazing vanilla/caramel dessert.

I haven't written one of these in like a month, so I've got a lot of shout-outs to catch up on, sorry for the length.

I've been enjoying two of u/foment_life's recipes to an unhealthy degree: Dreamsicle and Blue Eyes White Dragon. The former is a spot-on profile for the popular orange ice cream bars, and the latter is an indescribable mutant fruit ambrosia. Both are so delicious that when they ran out I mixed another batch in their bottles, which I only do for a handful of recipes.

I've also had a chance to try a couple of u/ID10-T's 1-2-3 recipes. 1 2 3 Cranberry Sprite is jaw-droppingly delicious. I don't even like cranberries, but my first batch of this was gone in no time and because it's so easy to make quickly filled with more. 1 2 3 #Yacht Cocaine Prostitutes is also quite tasty, with one of my favorite descriptions of all time.

I've also recently had a chance to try two of u/AlfredPudding's abstract seasonal recipes. Rain does a marvelous job of capturing the sensation of being in nature during a rain shower, with fresh, crisp, humid, and green notes-- this feels like springtime in Oregon (where it rains way too much). Cabin feels like a seasonal counterpart, everything about it tastes like autumn in the most delicious way possible. I can't recommend these two recipes strongly enough.

I've been messing around in the Discord mixing lab with u/eyemakepizza and u/isuamadog on a Ruby Red Ale experiment. We've made a few different versions, here's my version of Ruby Red Ale. It's not "finished" but it's getting pretty darn tasty.

I'm also tinkering with a more "full-spectrum" orange soda that I'm calling Sunmist. It's not ready to share yet, but I've only recently picked up all the orange flavors that could improve it recently so it's just a matter of time and testing.

You've been trying some amazing stuff! And also some of my crap.

Seriously, BEWD and Cabin blew my mind. I recently got the Hibiscus Candy I need to mix up Rain and am definitely looking forward to that when I can squeeze in a few minutes between all this single flavor Charlie work.

I feel like it's my fault you have the FLV Cranberry even though you're not a big fan of cranberries, so I went and found some other things I think you might like that use it:

1 2 3 Poinsettia ---> If this one's not right up your alley I don't know what is.

1 2 3 Sex on the Beach

The Pattern

Cran Orange Muffin

Cran'Orange Bundt Cake

Thanks! I must say, though, I'm pretty obsessed with your recipe-- it's another one that I mixed again immediately when it ran out. I would be perfectly happy to use the whole thing for batches of cranberry Sprite, but it's good to know there are other good applications if I ever feel like a different cranberry vape.

I will definitely mix at least that first one up though, since you know my tastes pretty well.

Odd. I have hibiscus candy, and still lack one, maybe two flavors for rain. Not sure about Bilbery...

Ben keep us updated on Sunmist - very interested in a full-spectrum orange soda. I've been trying many different things with FA Orange recently. LOTS of failures - but a surprise partnership with FA Blackcurrant was a bit of good news.

  • FA Orange 2%
  • FA Blackcurrant 2%
  • PUR Jelly Candy 7%

I mix this with my new cooling method of:

  • WS-23 3%
  • FW Menthol 1%
  • CAP Super Sweet 0.25

Thinking it still needs something else. Want to see how it plays with CAP Hibiscus (don't have it yet), of even things like FA Liquid Amber, or WF Molasses, or VT Golden Syrup.

That looks good! Adding Black currant to my list. Have you tried FA Mandarin or Cap sweet tangerine? I find either of those really help with the top notes. Though most of my tests have involved FW Blood Orange instead of FA Orange, as I just picked up the latter. I’ve also heard TFA Mandarin may work in that slot.

I’ll make sure to highlight you to help me test my take on Orange soda when I’ve got something worth trying!

CAP Sweet Tangerine, FA Bergamot, and RF PDO Blood Orange, IIRC, is a good starting point. Probably want some VT, either blood orange champagne,or whatever, maybe fizzy sherbet.

The only thing I've been vaping this week worth mentioning is this RY4 Custard by Developed. If you have all these ingredients and you love vanilla custard or dessert tobacco or especially if you're a fan of both, you definitely should give it a mix. It's immediately tasty (mixed up Saturday morning, started vaping Saturday night) and already getting even better with time. Made 50ml and already starting to wish I'd made more as it's dwindling fast. A tank filled with this stuff has made my mornings four days in a row now. Maybe I'm just weird, but for me, even with all the great bakery and such recipes, nothing goes better with a cup of black coffee in the morning than a rich dessert tobacco.

RY4 Custard by Developed

Co. | Flavor | % ---|---|---- TFA | Vanilla Custard | 2 WF | Vanilla Ruyan Custard | 2 FW | Butterscotch Ripple | 1.5 FLV | Native Tobacco | 1 FLV | Turkish Tobacco | 0.75

I haven't watched the Youtube episode where they talk about creating this but I see the hand of /u/max-savage in there with the 1% Native Tobacco. Love you Max. Thanks for this!

Actually, I'm trying to figure that out now... I checked my quick notes I'd jotted down after mixing up what I've been vaping recently, and can't figure out what one of the ingredients was. But it's a sweet fruity cooled cactus flavor, that I'm thinking is pretty good. So now I need to try and solve the mystery ingredient... edit: solved the mystery... for those interested in trying it (and sweeteners and cooling agents are always to taste, just included for completeness)-
.5% WS-23
.5% FA Polar Blast
1.3% FA Blackcurrant
1.8% INW Cactus
3% JF Lemon
1% Hippie Sugar (stevia)

Big Papa's Macaron

Day 50. This is a really nice macaroon with a subtle nuanced fruity backnote. It really does taste like the picture on ATF. /u/ID10-T did a great job dialing the ratios on this one - everything is perfectly balanced. I like this one much more than Mango Blossom Macaron, which to me had plasticy, suntan lotion vibe from the FLV Mango (admittedly, a concentrate I'm not very fond of). Big Papa's Macaron shares the same macaron base but substitues that funkyness with the awesomesauce of Notorious. It's a nice laid back vape that makes you want to pick out all the different subtle flavors going on. It doesn't seem to be getting tiresome even at the end of a 30ml. When I'm absentmindedly vaping on this I sometimes think it's vurve's Sugar Cookies and Cream due to the wonderful combination of CAP Sugar Cookie and FLV Cream (one of my favorite flavors).

Glad you're enjoying it so much but did you remember to pour out a little for the dearly departed?

I really should mix up Notorious again. That stuff hits the spots.

I tried out a coffee flavour I got here in China (proflavor). It's like a super dark roast coffee, really powerful at 5%. Reminiscent of chewing a gobful of instant coffee. But it does genuinely taste like coffee, at least. I found Cap espresso tasted pretty rank, and Cap cappuccino just tasted of milk.

Attempting a coffee mix now. Thinking 2% proflavor coffee, 2% Cap cappuccino, 1% TPA hazelnut, 1% marshmallow. Maybe some sweetener. Could be decent.

I got 30 bottles this week so I've been all over the damn place w flavor lol.

Lake Placid

Zen Shine subbed bilberry for plum and forest fruit for raspberry

FA Aurora at 1%. Straight Muskol. Omfg. The regret. I haven't tasted this since I was 4 and accidentally got it in my mouth

Apple Pie (TPA) @ 5% + Joker / Burlone (Pazzo) (FA) @ 6%. It hasn't sat long enough it's like vaping apple juice.

My super secret recipe I made public just for you guys 😉 Rainy Cove

I’m waiting on a bunch of stuff to steep, so right now I’m vaping a simple SNV. I can’t remember where I found it, but it’s just Forest Fruit at 8% and cactus at 2%.

still trying to find something to pair with SM Italian Roast. I'm just about to give up since I'm getting close to the end of my bottle and I'm thinking I probably won't re up for a while. Any other flavors that have even a little coffee in them can overpower the NET flavor. Any suggestions are welcome at this point.

Midnight Apple clone by Halo https://vapingdaily.com/best-vape-clones/

I tweaked this recipe a little and now I have found my first enjoyable tobacco vape.

I'm trying to mix it with 18-25% nic salt but the flavor is elusive.
