#Highlights from Last Week

  • /u/Foment_life had a humble request on behalf of Kindground and his current circumstances. Many things are in motion behind the scenes and more will be announced over the coming weeks.
  • /u/monothom wants every vaper in the EU to take action in order to get rid of the TPD and create sensible regulation around vaping.
  • /u/Harry_Nice took a break from his series of “Nice” recipes to call out the lack of support for the ATF Android App to which there was a response from the developer, thought probably not what Harry wanted it to be.
  • /u/n0tvegan posted a flavor review for Inawera’s RY-4
  • /u/heimsins_konungr released their 9th front page recipe Golden Wind with the tantalizing description “A cool, LemonLavender Champagne enveloped in Honeysuckle.”
  • /u/mlNikon got her turn in the hot seat on Sunday for another enlightening AMA
  • /u/OdieDoodah took the reigns and organized an epic Showdown between two small teams of mixers tasked with collaborating and mixing up a recipe together (on the DIY Discord) in only 30 minutes & The results were awesome. Congrats to Red Team (/u/AlfredPudding, /u/mlNikon & /u/Vishousness) for their winning recipe Zoe’s Crazy Cookies and if you want to follow along with both teams collaborative process check out the #Team-Red and #Team-Blue channels on the Discord to watch both recipes come to life.

##Developed

> According to /u/folkart2000 "We have assembled some of the most well-known and talented mixers from our community to bring you... DEVELOPED and DEVELOPED LIVE! DEVELOPED, released every Tuesday at 6:00pm EST, shows our recipe development process in action! It's a short 15 minute episode that's fast-paced, entertaining, and packed with information. DEVELOPED LIVE airs every Saturday at 6:00pm EST and allows the community to get involved in the conversation as we break down the recipe from Tuesday's episode." The show is also edited by our very own /u/AlfredPudding.

##Fresh03 > Fresh03 AKA Dustin Freshly is a prolific mixer and YouTube reviewer who not only appears on a variety of DIY shows but also hosts a couple notable and incredibly lengthy live shows with a large and almost all-inclusive cast of mixers you’ve probably heard of.

##Mixin Vixens > From Emily (/u/mlNikon) "Mixin Vixens is a diverse all female mixing panel on a YouTube weekly show that airs live Sunday’s at 6pm Eastern. Weekly we take pictures submitted by our viewers and each of us interprets the picture and converts it from a visual to a taste. After 4 rounds of mixing we allow the Man Team to critique our recipes and give us hell. Week after week we provide knowledge and entertainment. Month after month after we pick the recipe we want judged the judges come in knock us over the head and there is only one woman standing."

##Noted > The three hosts /u/mlNikon, /u/CheebaSteeba, and /u/ID10-T (and usually one guest) talk extensively about last week's Flavor of the Week. They each try a handful of flavors (or many more than that) and give their impressions while often sharing a few recipes that include those flavors.

##The Fog Vlog An ensemble cast of South African mixers who do live mixes, flavor reviews and mixer reviews where they review several recipes from one mixer.

Congrats again to the Red Team (/u/AlfredPudding , /u/mlNikon & /u/Vishousness )! Another big winner here was the idea of doing a competition this way. I don't know who came up with it initially, but it was tons of fun with a dash of harrowing like any good competition, and a big shout out to Odie for all the work in putting it together!

I feel fully responsible for the Blue Team loss. I talked my teammates into using less Sweet Tangerine without even trying it first. Kopel and Ben_Gaming were great. I couldn't have asked for better teammates and they probably would have taken the Red Team out if I wasn't holding them back. If you're reading this and find yourself in one of these contests, I have two words of advice: BALLS OUT. Or, you know, just make sure to have a savant like Mr. Pudding on your team. That works, too.

Well done Red Team! It was a pleasure losing to your creative cookies, and a greater pleasure learning so much from u/ID10-T and u/HocusKrokusl. We may not have 100% nailed the profile the way we would have liked on the first attempt, but it's a solid foundation that we're planning to build into something that's truly unique and delicious and uses a more popular cherry flavoring. And I still feel like I won something, the gift of getting to mix with company like my Blue Teammates, it gave me a lot of insight into advanced mixing techniques. Congrats to u/AlfredPudding, u/mlNikon, and u/Vishiousness, you deserve the win!

That competition really was a blast. It was very different than anything I've done before and really enjoyed myself.

That was hard to judge. Specifically because I like you and Kopel so much and was secretly rooting for you. Objectivity won though and they really made a pretty tasty recipe.

I bet. I won't have any trouble judging the next one though because I don't like anyone.
