Finally, an original recipe I can make public.
submitted over 6 years ago by ecolii_

I'm not very good at describing recipes, like a lot of these semi-pros and pros on this subreddit. I'm also not using a flavor atomizer like a Psyclone or the Vapefly Pixie.

On my failed attempts to recreate Don Juan's Reserve by King's Crest, I decided to try and make my own thing, and I came up with this.

The butter pecan is the main profile in this, with a hint of cinnamon and a nice whole cream exhale. I'm not sure that it's exactly "ice cream," but I got an ice cream stone recipe from DIYorDIE, and it's the main cream flavor. I'd love some critique and scrutiny.

The reason I chose butter pecan as the main profile is because I really enjoyed Don Juan's Reserve. It's a dessert flavor without heaviness, but also being dense enough to stand. I added Cinnamon Danish Swirl to help it taste like those roasted nuts in the conical bags at fairs. I used the ice cream stone for a creamy flavor. The NY Cheesecake is mainly there for texture. I wanted to be sure that the vanilla flavor would be there to enhance the pecan, so I added the Vanilla Swirl. It tastes like a cinnamon pecan cereal milk.

  • Butter Pecan (FW) 4.25%
  • Cinnamon Danish Swirl (CAP) .25%
  • New York Cheesecake (CAP) 1%
  • Vanilla Ice Cream Stone [FVIC (HS) 2% & VBIC (FW) 3%] 5%
  • Vanilla Swirl (TFA) 2%

Looks good, I’m short one ingredient tho. What is HS French vanilla ice cream? Can I sub another, such as Capella or TFA?

Hangsen FVIC is fucking awesome, I would totally pick some up from Nicotione River or something when you can.

Capella's vanilla bean ice cream is good. You might want to go lighter on the vanilla swirl in the recipe though...

I’m not a fan of TFA VBIC...too peppery, and I’ve never had Capella’s ice creams. Give it a shot.

You get a pepper taste from TFA VBIC but not this other one?!? I might have to snag that.

Absolutely. TFA VBIC I do not use, at all.

I get nothing but cream from this stone. I heard LB Vanilla Ice Cream is also a superior concentrate to TFA VBIC. I recently bought it, but haven’t used it yet.

I got this stone recipe from DIYorDIE.

The main flavor profile in Kings Crest DJ is Graham Cracker, not Buttered Pecan. Buttered Pecan is part of it but the overwhelming front note is Graham Cracker

If you don't want to describe your flavors, please post to the Recipe Thread. Front page recipe posts need detailed notes.

It has some details. Is it not detailed enough?

Why you chose the flavors you did, purposes of them in the recipe, what it tastes like... Etc. As I said, posting it as is works, just in the recipe thread.

Ok. I'll add those details.
