Can anyone help me with NastyJuice and CoffeeMill aromas and mixing with 100%Vg? First time DIY!
submitted over 6 years ago by DrunkenVapour

First off, if I seem to have missed anything in the sidebar and beginners guides, I sincerely apologize.

I’ve quit the manuals. Started with a Smok starter kit about two months ago, and now am full blown building shit and just got my very first drippers today, so I’m very excited!

But more importantly, I’ll be making my own juices tomorrow - I have aromas coming in, primarily NastyJuice and CoffeeMills. I just can’t seem to find anyone who has tried mixing these aromas in pure VG, and Google being Google, goes from recommending anything from 10% to 30% and I’m at a loss. Not very good with numbers, and I need to mix in 100ml bottles so as to better know my percentages, if that makes any sense.

I’m just really hoping to see if any of you guys have any experience with these brands, and how much aroma to add. Obviously it all comes down to taste, I DO know this lol. I’m only looking for guidelines.

Either I could just ad 15ml of say NastyJuice mango/strawberry and fill the rest of the 100ml bottle with VG - but then it would suck major butt to end up with little to no taste, and only 15ml of aroma left.

Let me be honest - I’m kind of retarded (thanks for that line, Alex Jones)

Jokes aside, I’m super excited about this, since I’ve had literally no hobbies these past years. I’m just stoked and I love building and wicking and blowing clouds that smell like cheesecake :)

Any help, tips, experiences would help ALOT.

HAPPY VAPING TO YOU :)

Edit: Correction of an auto-correction :)

Why wouldn't you just try out 30 ML? 10% 3ML, 20% 6 ML and 30% 9 ml. Or even better go with 10 ML bottles and try all 3 at 1 ml, 2ml and 3 ml.

np I don't have any experience with one shots, but that's how I've been single flavor testing. 5 or 10 ML bottles at 1%, 3% and 5%.

I've been using Nasty concentrates with 10% and it's more than enough flavor for me. Using Twisted Messes 30mm rda and SxMini G-class.

Easier to add more concentrate than taking away. Friend has done Coffee Mills with 10% too and what I've tasted it's been pretty good.

My local Vape shop carries them. 30ml bottles around 15€. We don't have ready to vape liquids here.

Sweet! Also with 100% VG, if I may ask?

Pg is your main flavour carrier so you may want to up it a little from there. But as he says, easier to add than it is to take away.

10% PG from concentrate 5% PG from nicotine 85% VG

Yeah, I mixed Nasty Juice concentrates with pure VG and 15% pg is enough for me. :)

The flavoring has all the pg you really need to vape it. At 10% with vg based nic it would be 90/10. I personally like to add about an extra 10% pg to my mixes, 75/25 is my preferred ratio. It’s nice to add a lil extra pg if you have it, gives you a lil better flavor imo, but will work well either way.

I highly recommend picking up a small digital scale, that weighs to the .01, if you don’t have one. You can always estimate pretty close to make it, but to replicate the recipe again you’ll want the scale. I got one from amazon for about $10

I’ll definitely go get some 10ml test bottles for this. Super excited, and thanks again :)

If you plan on trying other flavors they come in handy. I have hundreds of them so I'm prepared. You really don't want to make a big batch of anything until you know it's right. I've seen posts about people making 100 to 500ml batches asking why their juice tastes like shit.

Geez, I think I was about to be one of them as well if it weren’t for you giving me this advice.

I feel like people put too much weight on the PG/VG ratio. I max VG almost all my recipes and I've grown to prefer VG at 90% or more for my fruit and dessert mixes. For tobacco mixes I might go as high as 30% PG, but I actually prefer the smooth flavor and minimal throat hit of max VG for anything else. Anyway, don't worry too much about PG to VG ratio, if you're like me and happy with the flavor of a max VG test. Side note: PG may however help if you're looking for an experience that feels a little more like analogs. Also, my flavors are PG based.

Cheers mate, I’m getting my vape mail later this afternoon, cannot contain myself. In the beginning of my vaping I thought it’d be nice to save some paper by vaping, but man, building shit and buying new gear is just such an enjoyable hobby haha. Thanks again.

Happy to provide a competing perspective on the matter. PG is primarily a matter of personal preference as a base ingredient in my personal experience. As with almost everything in DIY, the best way to discover your truth is sampling each of the options you're considering in small test batches.

Anyway, the world of DIY is exciting and new for you and I share/remember the feeling. The wise and thrifty mixer will test small samples of everything that piques their interest before mixing large quantities of it. I suggest you emulate the wise mixer, but more importantly, have fun!

Ignore PG for now. That will only add a harsher flavor anyways. Go with 10% on flavor, up to 5% sweetener if any. vary each by taste a few percentages either way. Its like people make this sound confusing so they can sell their own juice.

All I have is one liter VG with nic already added. My aromas seem to already have artificial sweeteners in them, or so it says on their labels. And the only sweetener I was able to order was Ethyl Malthol in powder form. Dunno how I should go about figuring out if and how much to add. But I appreciate you guys saying that I’d be fine starting out at around 10% aroma, and adding up from there. Getting the last stuff in the mail today, am sooo game could barely sleep. Bloody hell :)
