How important is it to steep/keep liquids in a dark place?

It's actually not. Just keep it out of direct sunlight.

The UV light literally destroys flavor compounds and spoils nicotine rapidly

I shake and vape... and it gets better as the week progresses.

I notice I get the best flavor juices from places that are darker and have less natural light on the shelves that's crazy

I have found the steeping depends on the flavors/complexity of the recipe. The two main recipes I make are shake and vape. They are simple three flavor recipes and taste exactly the same on day 1 as they do a month after making. I have had store bought juices that taste very different if you let them sit around for a couple weeks.

I think if you keep them out of sunlight they should be fine, or if you have brown or blue glass bottles then it should filter the sunlight enough to not make a noticeable difference.

I've had old juice before that aged in the sun. Kinda like how an open pack of smokes doesn't really go bad but definitely gets stale? Like that.

I'm sure there's a more nuanced chemical explanation of what's happening.

Okay. I have mine sitting out on my table in the living room wondering if the lights in the room will make a difference.

no. unless you plan on storing your juice for years. bottles sit in the vape shops all day.

I am sure some hard core flavor chasers disagree with me, but to the normal juice entrepreneurs it shouldn't matter.

I don't think you'll find anyone disagreeing with you. Artificial light doesn't effect anything

As long as you don't have windows letting direct sunlight into the room, and nobody uses that room for Seasonal Affect Disorder treatments (sitting in front of a UV lamp) no problem.

No

But house lights do not have uv so it’s fine right?

I'm wondering this as well

Fluorescent lights emit some UV light, but in the case of room illumination it's much weaker than UV from direct sunlight.

Just clear up a drawer or two and keep it in there. That's how I did it haha
