It's Thursday again. Time to find out if anyone tried new single-flavors that they want to mention. Plus to get a quick verdict. It's not about the recipe or giving a review. It's more about what may have surprised you or what you enjoyed from single-flavor testing.... or a stand-alone you decided to vape over a mixture of flavors. Will include a couple below:

TFA Apple Pie - Fair
I would've leaned more toward good, but came to the conclusion that I can't taste bakeries very well sometimes.

FW Fruit Rings - Good
This was briefly discussed in last week's thread. Am pretty well amazed at how close it is to the cereal. :) Did taste more of the lemon but still very tasty. It was accidentally sent by NicRiver and NOT really for the purpose of posting this!! Hahaha.

Going to let my coffee candidate steep a bit more. Tried with a different RDA from the aforementioned; didn't get much impact from it.... though it did taste like coffee. Also vaped the TFA RY4 Double but on the fence on how I feel about it. Seems like I get more enjoyment from it's 2nd hand vapor than actually from the vape itself. Is that weird??

FOOTNOTE (TL:DR) Someone posted something about frugality before. It finally struck me that they feel this is a "cheap-skate" way of looking for good without the learning curve or expense of time as well as money. It's more about discussing them. It doesn't take long of vaping a single flavor to start considering recipes that involve other flavors. Either to come up with something new or to generally experiment. And what I've also decided is that I'm more prone to work harder on recipes that were a "fail" or "not great" than those that were pretty good but could be made better. Like how I might use Fruit Rings in a baked lemon recipe instead of a lemon meringue or lemon sicily because again, not able to get enough of a "baked" flavor as much as I'd like. And heck, might even pair with Apple Pie for fun!!
Ooh I just mixed up apple pie at 7% to test, and FA labyrinth. I'll have content for next week lol.
Classics
FA Forest Fruit. I am the forest fruit whore, I will shill it to the ends of the earth and back. 4%
TFA Berry Cereal. Capt Crunch sold his recipe, spot on crunch berries. 4%
TFA Honeysuckle. Great for a nice light summery vape. 2-4%
INW Peach and Pear. Stroooooong af and true to life flavor. Start at 1%
FW Natural Lemonade. So so realistic, maybe because it has lemon oil? 5%
FA Joker. Cinammon cannoli, I haven't nailed down the best percent yet.
FA Morning Sun. Granola-ish cereal with stone fruit and milk. 3%
I find FA Morning Sun very weird and nice, but could never vape it for more than an hour or two. It's just grew weird on me every time. Mixed at 2.5% and 3mg.
My bf loves it, he thinks it tastes like a nutri grain bar lol. I definitely get tired of it after half a day, it's a very clingy flavor, hangs around in your mouth.
Half a day's a long shot for me. He should try adding TFA Berry Crunch to it too, but at like 1-2% or so, can't remember exactly. I tried this back when I started mixing, so it was obvious I mix the milky fruits with crunch, haha.
It turned out weirder than Morning Sun on its own, funnily enough, more vapeable too, although it never grew enough on me to go further.
FA Forest Fruit is something that deserves to be shilled at every opportunity. I love Forest Fruit. At one point I was putting that shit in everything. 4% is around where I settled with it. I loved to add in a bit of HS Blueberry and maybe some FLV Boysenberry. Mmmph! So good.
8% TFA Cheesecake
Steep five months
Do flavors actually require that kind of steeping? I’m just a lurker but haven’t liked many cheesecake flavors because there’s not much flavor there. Getting ready to start DIY soon.
I think this is a cool thread and should sticky around!
This week I tried:
CAP Candied Watermelon @ 5%
A decent candy watermelon, a little strange but similar to LA watermelon in taste for me.
WF SC Island Mango @ 2%
I used this to create a mango trinity which I hope will gain traction with other mango lovers like myself. I find it to be nice and sweet with light creamy mango finish.
WF SC Shortbread Cookies @ 2%
I enjoyed the buttery cookie flavour this had. Not bad for a single flavour. It would be quite enjoyable in a mix.
FLV Milk & Honey @2%: Damn this is good. I could ADV this. Reminds me of sweet, mild iced chai, would go well in anything with dairy and honey notes. THIS is how you add honey to a mix.
FLV Blackberry Blossom @1%: Not for me. Too floral and earthy. I'm sure it could be good in the right recipe, but this flavor doesn't do much for me.
It's been a while, but had some Honey Nut O's from a cheap label that was sold on eBay. It did taste a lot like cheerios and a tiny bit of honey but no real milk flavor to it. Do you feel the FLV Milk & Honey works good for something like this or is the milk too overbearing??
.5% is plenty for BB. You will never escape the floral tho.
An equal amount of TFA Blackberry and no one would ever believe it is just 1% total flavor.
LA Lemonade 4-6% makes a decent shake and vape to hold you over til you make something else.
I really like the taste of a pink lemonade vape. It was just like the Country Time powder mix where you add water. Problem was, after the first couple of days, was extremely taste-blind to it for a LONG time afterwards. :/
Hangsen Red Energy 2.5%. It's kind of sweet tartish but probably the closest to true Red Bull flavor. SC Red Energy is another contender but I like HS better. Mad mix isn't even close for me. But everyone tastes things different.
God, I wish I knew this beforehand. Could barely find any good resources on reddit or elsewhere for Red Bull / energy drink flavors, went and got FA Mad Mix. That shit is not good. Combined with some flavors, it's just vile. Had given up entirely on energy recipes until your comment, so thanks.
CAP Pink Punch - 7% w/ SS
Not bad. I'm not 100% certain on concentrations as i'm still working with it, but it's nice. The Anise ones on the otherhand....maybe they're not for me.

Cap Sugar Cookie
What percentage do you normally use as stand-alone??
Honestly, havent used it as a stand alone in a minute but i believe i made my first batch at 8% then bumped up to 10. This made me fall in love with this flavor and it has become a staple in almost all my bakery recipes.....coconut creme pie and key lime pie are my favs. Good subtle but sweet when mixed. Stand alone is a good sugar cookie. Love it.
Cap vc1 @ 5, 7 & 9% steeped 3.5 weeks. single core Clapton in entheon clone @ 35-45w.
Think I'm needing to find a new adv. Just realized I've been custarding myself daily for going on 2 months straight. Is going custard-blind a thing ;)
Anyway: @ 5% I certainly enjoy this. As a single flavor it needs some help in the vanilla department. Seems to be lacking... something, just a slight bland taste. Overall nice mouthfeel & feels like @ this % it would stand out enough for most in a mix.
7% a considerable bit better. No off notes or what was "lacking" at 5%. Still needs help, but hey, it's a sft 🤷
@ 9% This is more where I like a custard. Eggy nature definitely showing, once again the vanilla needs some help but things seem to be well rounded without any odd aftertastes. Heavy mouthfeel & egg starts to really come through. Could accent this with a small amount of vanilla to "finish" it with 1 additive if you like a nice thick vanilla custard with minimal work. I'd call this my personal single flavor %
Overall a very versatile flavor. I like to use this with fa vanilla (inw shisha vanilla, @ least @ .5% just doesn't work for me with vc1 in a 5% test). tfa vanilla swirl (because it's awesome). Also goes well with lots of fruits since the vanilla isn't really all that out front for me.
One of the more enjoyable sft's I've done recently. Definitely didn't have to "hate vape" through it 😉
Lemon Meringue Tart VT omg this is to die for just as is. I like powerful flavors and mixed it at 5% but my notes say it could be dropped to 4% and still be fantastic. Unfortunately it’s difficult to get. BCF is the only one so far that carries it and they’ve been out of it for at least a week.
How much TFA Apple pie did you use?
I’m quite fond of TFA berry crunch at 6-8%
This is the 2nd batch. The first I only used 5% and it was weak. This time around, did 6.5%. Part of the problem is that I'd added a commercial apple vjuice to it to accent the first batch, plus a drop of cereal and biscuit to try to get some "crust" taste out of it. Anyway, tastes more like baked apples from Golden Corral or Boston Rotisserie... which means the stand-alone isn't going to compare well.
An oldie but a goldie. The version with FLV Rich is the better one.
