Don't fall victim to the anti-sweetener agenda. Life is about moderation, not prohibition. You can't bake a cake without sugar, and I'm pretty sure you put sugar in creme brulee too. Some things need it. Don't use sweetener as a crutch, but it's a totally valid ingredient. Anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they're talking about.
You can just update your other post. No need to make a new one so soon after the original
For me i do use sweetner (Supe Sweet-Cap) some times for my owner Recipes or if its on Others Recipes but i never go up more than 3-5 Drops for /100 ML . I edit recipes for example if they do add sweetner from (0.5%) To my own preferable taste as i said not more than 5 drops for 100Ml . Again thats me and thays that's what great on DIY world.
Good on you buddy. I know it sucks but patience and trial/error are key to getting half decent at this. In time, if you really get into it anyway, you'll have so much juice steeping on backlog that you won't have to care about steep time anymore.
Great job with making notes and starting on testing your flavors.
Try to avoid the sweetener though. It can bring up some recipes, but when you mix one flavor, and add so much in proportion... Also try with sweetener and without it, so you cab see the difference. As I know, sweetener tends to mute the flavor, so be careful with adding it.
So avoid sweetner but dont avoid sweetner but try to avoid sweetner because it mutes flavours??
Yes, sweetener is a tool, not the flavoring that you want to add everywhere.
What I wanted to say is, add sweetener, and be careful about the percentages, but try to avoid it if possible. The rest is what you think is best for your taste... in my opinion the VG is sweet by itself, and most of the time there is no need for additional sweetness, but some recipes require that extra kick of sweetness, but if you overdo it, it won't be any good.
So you got that right... avoid it and use it.
All I meant was what you have said is a confusing statement to someone who is starting out a better way to put it would have been to try you single flavour then if you feel as though it could benefit from sweetner add it and try it again.
When i first started to mix i followed the no sweetner rule because everyone hammered it across and everything tasted flat and horrible, once i started to use sweetner everything tasted better! I dont think you should tell people to avoid sweetner because you dont use it alot.
Im not arguing but im just trying to say people shouldnt avoid sweetner.
Don't listen to this nonsense, always add sweetener.
Sweetener opens your taste buds and allows you to taste more flavor. #1 reason people give up on DIY is because moronic advice of "don't use sweeteners" Only FA Pear & Fuji don't need any.
Sweeteners are always a controversial subject. Some of the more experienced mixers are trying to tell you to not depend on it. Try to let your palette adjust from commercial juices that over sweeten everything. With sweeteners, the less is more rule is a good one to follow. You can always add more-but you can't take it away once you add it. Find your own "sweet" spot.
I appreciate your advice. Before writing this comment I took another puff, and I understand what you mean. Essentially, the sweetener takes a couple of hours to mix I guess. It's too sweet now, a little wet, leaving a sweet after-taste. I should have stuck with a single drop. From what I can see there's no such thing as shake-and-vape. Everything needs to steep, atleast for a couple of hours.

Have you ever tried cookies and cream? Is it supposed to smell like that? Should I go ahead and make a small sample or just chuck it?
