Dreaming of Lenola - a Vapouround recipe
submitted over 6 years ago by Vapouround-nedDiketones, Schmiketones

KiC's Lenola Cream is perhaps one of the most elusive profiles in the DIY community. There have been lots of clones, but it always seems to end up with more questions than answers.

I used to religiously vape this stuff, but since the TPD kicked in two years ago, it simply hasn't been available in the UK (PLEASE COME BACK).

As it's been so long since I tasted the real deal, this is NOT a clone recipe, but an attempt to get some bananas, pies, fruit medley tastes, and creaminess for miles back in my life. DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO TASTE LIKE LENOLA CREAM.

Recipe:

FA Banana - 3%

INW Shisha Strawberry - 1.5%

FA Coconut - 0.3%

INW Biscuit - 1.5%

INW Custard - 2%

FA Vienna Cream - 0.75%

CAP Super Sweet - 0.25%

Steep Time: at least one week, the Vienna Cream and Coconut both need to settle in, and this mix doesn't taste great off the bat. It only seems to get richer as time goes on.

Notes:

FA Banana - IMO the most criminally underrated banana flavouring out there. To me this is the most authentic banana. It's quite light, mildly creamy and perhaps not quite as ripe as I'd like, but it DOES NOT taste like banana candy, as so many of these flavourings do. This could certainly be bumped up if you want more banana.

INW Shisha Strawberry - It's one of the best strawberries around if you're looking for a sticky confectionary style of the fruit. At this level in the mix it could easily be mistaken for another berry, but that's how I like it and it works brilliantly with FA Banana.

FA Coconut - I swear to this day that I tasted coconut when I vaped lenola cream. Even if it's not in the original, it's a nice pairing with the banana and strawberry top notes. I find FA Coconut to be very strong, and wanted it to be a mild accent, so it's low in the mix. Coconut fans might enjoy it bumped up a tad.

INW Biscuit - for me, this is the king of biscuits. It's buttery and rich and gives a nice bakery sweetness to the mix. I originally used FA Apple Pie to fill this role, but it wasn't rich enough.

INW Custard - another Inawera classic. I don't personally get custard from this, but it's still one of my most used flavourings. To me this is one of the best creamy vanilla puddings out there and every mixer should have some in their arsenal.

FA Vienna Cream - This is a bit of an odd one. I barely use this flavouring, and when I first picked it up I found the smell quite off putting, but after trawling through some ECF posts circa 2014, people were raving about how nice it is after a steep. I mixed up a very simple cream with it some time ago, and it really reminded me of Lenola, so I thought I'd use it here. I'm not sure what it's really doing for the mix, and likely other creams will suffice, but it works.

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading my long, rambling post. I think people who like dessert mixes will enjoy this one, and it's gone through quite a few iterations before now. This is also quite an open ended recipe and I'm sure other fruits, creams or bakeries can be used to tweak it!

Hey there! Very nice write up! :)

Originally we went through the process / cost of getting Lenola Cream TPD approved, and it did get approved. Then the market switched over to short-fills at a time of insane market saturation. We are still working on getting back into the market though, but we don’t have an ETA on it.

Thanks for all the love!

No problem! For what it's worth, I have contacts with lots of distributors here in the UK who would be delighted to work with you. The UK short-fill market is indeed saturated, but some products sell themselves, and I know plenty of old heads who would be ordering by the gallon upon your return...

Sadly I can't comment since the last time I had the real stuff was when I bought my local vape shop's entire remaining stock the day before TPD came into action :o

I used a lot of the same flavorings in my attempts at recreating Lenola as well! It does get pretty close, but then I go back to the original and there's just some extra magic in there.

Every time payday comes around, I think about ordering a bottle, but that $44 shipping to the UK makes it incredibly hard to justify :'(

I assume you've tried this one? https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/47426

I find it pretty damn close.

That's not one of the ones I've tried, though I have to say CAP Harvest Berry is one of those flavourings I can ususally taste a mile away, and doesn't give me that Lenola vibe. I could be TOTALLY wrong, though!
