Adding pg to an already made flavor
submitted over 6 years ago by s2rdin17

Noob question. I ordered some smax flavors that are 90/10 vg/pg thinking I was able to vape them with my SMOK nord. Well I found out my nord its not capable of vaporizing such thick juices. I don’t want to get another bulky device to vape my flavors so I was wondering if it’s possible to add 40ml of pg to a 90/10 100ml bottle. If so would it affect flavor? And should I add more nicotine? It has 6mg of nicotine.

40 ml is likely going to reduce your flavor.

You want a ratio of 50/50 or 60/40 with that device, and probably want to go with a higher concentration using nic salts.

I would maybe try and find a flavor you like (that would mix with the one you already have) in a juice that's 50/50 and mix them 50:50. Then you would have 70/30 which would work fine.

Adding plain pg will thin your juice but also make it bland.

Right on. I’ll give that a try. Maybe mixing it with a menthol I was thinking.

You would be diluting your product by 40%, so if you want it to taste the same and have the same nic strength you would need to add 40% more flavor and nic than what the original recipe called for. If you dont, it will probably taste the same, but weaker, and you'll have somewhere around 2.4 mg/ml of nicotine as opposed to the 6 mg/ml.

Yeah reducing the nic level means chain vaping. I’m currently using 16mg on a freebase and a pod lasts me almost all day

You will get reduced flavor, you can warm you e-juice to about 45/50 °Celsius (sorry I do not know freedom units of measurement) and leave it at that temperature for about 3 hours it will make your juice thinner, please keep in mind that if you do not have nic salts this procedure will oxidize your nicotine and it may have a heavier throat hit as well will darken your juice... I reccomend a souis vide machine or a ultrassonic cleaner that can regulate temperature...

Imo it is better than dilluting your juice, but be aware that the troat kick is real, but if you are using a pod sistem I guess it wont be much... You should try it...

It live in a hot place if I leave my ejuice on the car or in the heat and sun it thins out the vg and oxidizes the nic so the troat hit is stronger...

I honestly love throat hit so much I run 20 mg mic salts through my box mod I can’t wait to try this

I have mod/rta combo that I run when I'm at work and it's not overly bulky. Pretty small actually. Augvape Intake on top of a Geekvape Aegis mini. You can get some pretty sleek/small devices that can handle 90/10.

Hav you heard of the Orion vape? The one with the dna chip. Do you think that will do it ?

I doubt it, just checked out a review on it. Here's a pretty good article on why 90/10 high vg doesn't work particularly well in pod systems.
