Tools for mixing / tracking flavors?
submitted over 6 years ago by mckernanin

Hey all, what are your favorite tools for tracking recipes, flavors, etc? I'm to the point where I have too many flavors to remember, want to keep track of them somewhere. Side note, I think responses to this could be used to make a great wiki page :)

I use http://e-liquid-recipes.com primarily. You can also use https://alltheflavors.com (but it needs premium membership for you to create more than 2 recipes, rate recipes and total cost calculation).

One downside of e-liquid-recipes is flavour naming convention is not centralized and hence same flavour have different names. Thats not the case with alltheflavors.

Also e-liquid-recipes have so many duplicate recipes and fake ratings. Its a mess. Some say one can find treasures in e-liquid-recipes if you search hard.

Alltheflavors is so much professional but free members cant rate recipes. Also It also doesn't have custom notes for individual flavours, dont know if paid members have that feature or not.

But they all have some nice features like cost calculation, private notes, private recipes, one shot calculation, "search by flavour stash", search recipes having missing flavours. There are lots of other features too that i never used. But What more could anyone want.

Untill i find a single perfect solution i will keep using both of them side by side.

There is definitely a notes section for flavors.

Its a treat to use alltheflavors.com. No reloading of page to add flavours to stash or updating flavour details like price, density, level on hand etc. Man i will definitely support alltheflavors soon. They deserve it.

yes there's, but what I meant.. you dont gain access to "more notes" if you have subscribed. But ofc by all means you should support them.

It's worth it. And not expensive by any means. Anyone on the fence should pony up

But no one uses them.

A few CR notes may be on there, yes. But that feature is still there.

> Alltheflavors

for Alltheflavors, no, paid members don't have access to more notes.

Other problem with ELR - flavor usage levels are skewed high, due to eGo era recipes, and then people making SFT recipes with inflated levels due to the existing overuse suggested, etc. Probably not as much of a problem if you mix exclusively for pod systems, but it is a problem.

And 'fake' ratings could just be super-popular old recipes that are severely overflavored now.

You make some good points. I mixed a bunch of the top rated recipes on that site. Most of them were flops for me or incredibly average. The older ones have some pretty high percentages on certain flavors.

Besides AllTheFlavors check out http://e-liquid-recipes.com/, I use it a lot and I like it very much.

I do prefer the layout of ELR. Everything is sortable and organized better IMO. ATF is a bit hard to navigate for me. I'm sure if I spent more time there I could get used to it. But yes I like ELR very much too for my personal use.

Another vote for all the flavors here, great for tracking notes. I also like the fact that you can search for recipes with an individual flavor. Its great for ideas or starting points on something you're looking for. Individual flavor testing I plan to track with MS One Note.

[I use this eliquid inventory software] (http://www.diyjuicecalculator.com/). Not only does it store my inventory and recipes, it has several calculators for adjusting your recipes, and even making flavor bases for them.

+1 for this software. Plus you don't have to be connected to the internet to use it since the data is stored locally. The drawback for some may be that it's a Windows only program as far as I know.

I think they were working on a Mac version, but development seems to have stopped on the whole project. I haven't been notified to update on almost a year

Wish I could upvote this more. This software is just simply fantastic.

It keeps track of my inventory 'automatically'. Keeps track of my recipes. It shows me the total cost of my mixes. It has sections for notes and comments. You can set thresholds to warn you when you are low. You can tweak just about variable you could need for 'perfect' accuracy. Oh, and its completely free.

Only downside is that the software has a little bit of a learning curve. However, if you actually take the time to read the help file, it will make your life significantly easier.

I use both ATF & ELR but I like ATF for it's batch tracking. But this feature isn't free so I track batches with a spreadsheet

Yeah, these lazy mods should get off their asses and link some useful stuff in a sidebar or something!

If you don't rely on other people's recipes, in which case you would need ELR and ATF) Hotrod's calculator is by far the best.

You can do pretty much anything you want with it. Import from other calcs or other people's recipe collections and share collections, export for backups, set up amounts and get price per bottle and also alerts when you need to order certain flavors, etc.

I use AllTheFlavors. There's a link to it and others in the sidebar already.

Thanks! I looked through the sidebar before posting and didn't see it. Where?

It's in the ejuice calculator section but I see Ain90 nicely linked/described both ATF and ELR, the 2 most popular sites, for ya so nevermind! lol

I bought an app called vape tool. It's very good for mixing and calculating coils.

I got Vape Tool for coils initially but now I mainly use it for mixing/flavors. I like it.

Me too! Coils are easy to figure out now. Their blender is pretty good.
